Raw Review 03/10/25

Roman Reigns returned and destroyed CM Punk and Seth Rollins after a brutal cage match. Seth won the match when Reigns pulled him from the cage but looked far from a winner after the beatdown. Where does this leave the three men for WrestleMania? This was a solid show until the cage match and post-match angle, which were excellent.

Must-see moments:

Steel Cage Match

The kickouts got redundant, but this was a well-executed match as expected. The big moment here came after the match with Reigns making a surprise return. They even teased some animosity between him and Heyman. We will see where this goes.

Throwback cage match highlights

These were short clips, but it was fun to see old footage. Going back to the WWWF days was a surprise.

Quick Results:

  1. Jey Uso defeated Grayson Waller
  2. The New Day defeated Rey Mysterion and Dragon Lee
  3. Raquel Rodriguez defeated Bayley
  4. Seth Rollins defeated CM Punk

Chronological recap:

WWE opened with Jey Uso’s entrance. Cue McAfee’s juvenile jokes. Michael Cole decided to join in. The jokes are so lame.

Jey Uso vs. Grayson Waller

Waller sent Uso to the post early on. Jey did not sell it and was doing a dive a few minutes later. Why do the spot? Theory caused a distraction, which allowed Grayson to take control. Waller got some sustained offense and looked good here. He is obnoxious in an effective way.

Jey made a comeback, dumped Theory to ringside and hit a spear for the win. Good match.

Winner: Jey Uso

Theory and Waller double teamed Jey. Just when Jey got the advantage, Gunther put Jey in the sleeper.

They aired an awesome CM Punk – Seth Rollins video package.

Ludwig Kaiser and Penta had prepackaged promos. Ludwig said he is the hottest rising star in WWE. Penta mentioned they will be facing each other next week.

After WWE aired an ad for a Travis Scott t-shirt, Logan Paul came out. What a contrast that was. Logan understands wrestling better than a lot of wrestlers. Scott injured Cody Rhodes because he is a mark and does not understand.

Madison Square Garden gave Logan the Dominik Mysterio treatment. He compared himself to The Rock and John Cena. Paul said Cody was dumb for not accepting The Rock’s offer. He claimed celebrities show up just to see him. Logan acknowledged some guy in the crowd. Andrew Schulz? We were all supposed to know who that is. He told Logan that no one came to see him. The crowd ate this up.

Whoever this guy is, he cut a heck of a promo. Schulz said he wanted to see AJ Styles, which caused Logan to throw him over the barrier and dragged him into the ring. AJ came out for the save. I was waiting for them to have Schulz slap Logan in the ear.

Styles called Logan back to the ring, but Paul kept walking. Thankfully, AJ was not on the mic very long. Schulz got to climb up on the second turnbuckle. That was good, but I would love for them to stop with the celebrities.

The New Day vs. Mysterio and Lee

New Day said this crowd does not get to boo them. That is good, because they were not booing them. They made fun of the local sports teams to get any reaction. This was sad.

WWE aired a video of a cage match from MSG between Bruno Sammartino and Ivan Koloff from 1975. That was awesome.

The match was No DQ, anything goes. Yawn. Rey tried to get a table out, but The New Day jumped him and put the table back. It was not long before the table came back out. The table was the only one over in this match.

At one point, McAfee started shrieking about his coffee being spilt. He was so obnoxious.

Rey finally got into the action and the crowd became interested. Just as the match was getting going, a masked Chad Gable interfered. McAfee pretended not to know who it was despite the mask having American Made written on it. The distraction led to The New Day winning.

Winner: The New Day

The Judgement Day was backstage bickering again. Dom cheered Finn up by telling him he has an Intercontinental Title match next week.

Cody Rhodes came out and told the crowd Cena was not there tonight. He referred to Cena’s “inner circle” as Travis Scott and The Rock. Rhodes said he does not begrudge Cena for being part-time or for taking the easy road out. But he was upset by Cena saying it was what had to be done.

Cody said that there will not be a 17th title reign for Cena, and he will have the job of breaking Cena’s heart. He also mentioned he will be in Brussels next week when Cena returns.

Jackie Redmond welcomed Lyra Valkyria to the interview position in the crowd. Lyra said Ivy Nile was a terrible person but is a tough fighter. Then she commented on Bayley vs. Raquel because the winner faces her for the title. She said a big part of her wants Bayley to win so she can avenge her loss to Bayley.

Bayley vs. Raquel Rodriguez

They aired video of the 1983 cage match between Don Muraco and Jimmy Snuka. I love these throwbacks.

This was bowling shoe ugly. Dominik and Liv got involved leading to the surprise victory for Raquel.

Winner: Raquel Rodriguez

Cathy Kelley interviewed Chad Gable backstage who claimed the luchador from earlier was not him. Then the luchador showed up in the background with security.

Jackie Redmond was in the crowd and threw to a prepackaged Bron Breakker promo. He hyped his match with Finn Balor next week.

More throwback highlights as they showed Randy Savage vs. Ted Dibiase in 1988.

Michael Cole introduced Iyo Sky for an in-ring interview. Iyo got a nice “You deserve it” chant before she spoke. Sky said she proved that she could do the impossible. And she is “over the moon” to go to WrestleMania. Bianca Belair then came out. Surprisingly, she was much more serious than usual. Finally, she is selling this storyline.

Belair was very conservatively dressed. There was not much bouncing and hair twirling either. Cole asked if Rhea would be going to WrestleMania if not for Bianca. She said she is sorry Rhea is upset, but she was not going to let Ripley put her hands on her.

Rhea came out fired up. She asked why Bianca was even at ringside last week. Ripley said Bianca should have just taken care of her business with Naomi and Jade. Bianca fired back that Rhea was upset because she cannot beat Iyo. Rhea and Bianca got nose to nose and when Iyo tried to get involved, they both shoved her away until Iyo slapped them both.

Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk – Steel Cage Match

Seth jumped Punk as soon as he got into the cage. These two beat the heck out of each other until fatigue set in. It was all punches and chops to start. Once they started doing wrestling moves, Rollins did two buckle bombs into the cage. Punk’s back was bright red and starting to bruise.

Rollins took great pleasure in pushing Punk’s head against the cage. He even rubbed his boot across his head. Seth opened the cage door and invited Punk to leave. Rollins went for another buckle bomb, but Punk reversed it and sent Rollins into the cage. He also raked Seth’s face against the cage.

Punk also invited Seth to just leave. Rollins gave him the finger, which was blacked out by Netflix. Really?

Punk hit two nasty looking elbows onto Rollins. The crowd chanted “one more time!” He hit the three elbow drops, but Seth kicked out. CM Punk then climbed to the top of the cage threatening to hit another elbow, but Seth got up and met Punk on the top of the cage. There were some incredible drone shots of the two men fighting on the cage.

Rollins hit a superplex off the top of the cage, but Punk kicked out. Incredible.

Seth reversed a GTS attempt into an FTS, which is the move Cena beat Punk with. Punk reversed that into an Anaconda Vice. Seth got out of it and hit the stomp, which Punk kicked out of. Seth went to the second rope for another stomp, but Punk reversed into a GTS. Seth kicked out!

Rollins hit a GTS and a stomp, but Punk kicked out of that. This was getting redundant, but the crowd was really into it. Seth hit a super stomp off the second rope but sat there admiring his work. Roman Reigns made a surprise appearance and pulled Rollins out of the ring. Seth won, but Roman beat the breaks off Rollins at ringside. He was going to do a stomp on Rollins on the ring steps, but officials finally came out.

Reigns then noticed Paul Heyman attending to Punk in the cage. Reigns stormed the ring and speared Punk.

Winners: Seth Rollins
