Against Jordynne Grace during picture-in-picture, Cora Jade backed into the turnbuckles and subsequently called for the referee’s “X.” She walked away on her own despite losing via referee stoppage, however the possibility of yet another Jade injury symbolizes an unfortunate career pattern. Contrastingly in NXT’s main event, Shawn Spears defeated North American Champion Tony D’Angelo to win singles gold to a stunned Orlando audience; Spears winning a title is definitely a new one.
In another first, TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz appeared in the Performance Center enroute to Roadblock next Tuesday, where they defend against NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom. They join other champion-versus-champion matches in Oba Femi versus Moose and Giulia versus Stephanie Vaquer in New York City at The Theatre at Madison Square Garden.
Chelsea Green and Piper Niven vs Zaria and Sol Ruca
Women’s United States Champion Green gives U.S. patriotism a pop in 2025, accompanied by her signature ring announcement by guest Lillian Garcia. The competing oddball duos start hot, and Ruca and Niven hit consecutive outside dives preceding picture-in-picture. Green very conspicuously prevents a tag by knocking off Zaria, but the latter makes a comeback with two solid spears. The champ gets bloodied, Ruca hits a doomsday moonsault, Zaria F5s Niven onto her and Ruca delivers Sol Snatcher to the unlucky Green for three.
Winners: Sol Ruca and Zaria
Footage from Ava’s office shows Jordynne Grace arguing with Cora Jade, who taunts getting a TNA Knockouts Championship match against Masha Slamovich. “The day you win that title is the day I retire,” Grace says before Ava arranges a match between them.
Ava then tries diffusing Trick Williams when Kale Dixon and Uriah Connors offer the general manager office supplies. Williams tells them to bother Mr. Chase, and Dixon rightfully accuses him of killing Chase University. The unlikable Williams pins him against the garage door before leaving in a huff.
Jaida Parker vs Kehlani Jordan
Corey Graves suggests Jordan is finding who she is, and meanwhile rookie Parker is the complete package of personality. Jordan hits an Asai Moonsault, but Parker recuperates with a side slam on the turnbuckle before picture-in-picture. “Kehlani needs a little less Michigan State (gymnastics) and a little more Detroit Red Wings,” Graves says after a twisting leg drop. The two trade offense until Jordan hits a scary top-rope Spanish Fly but misses a 450 Splash, allowing Parker to hit Hipnotic for the statement-making win. “Giulia, Stephanie (Vaquer), I’ma be at Roadblock watching your match,” she says towards the camera.
Winner: Jaida Parker
North American Champion Tony D’Angelo welcomes back Kelly Kincaid and tells Shawn Spears there’s only one family in NXT, The D’Angelo Family. After, in a sleek-looking Roadblock media row, NXT Champion Oba Femi answers questions about X-Division Champion Moose, ultimately saying he’ll remain “The Ruler” at Madison Square Garden.
TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz enter the Performance Center for the first time, welcomed “home” to a standing ovation. The iconic duo commends the NXT locker room before Hank Walker and Tank Ledger interrupt to drowning jeers and “delete” chants. Matt says the rookies have hunger, and Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura arrive to even more jeers. Walker and Ledger take Jeff’s advice about being extreme and thankfully brawl away towards the back. NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom appear in-ring, squaring off with their opponents for Roadblock to decide “who truly is the best tag team in the world today,” Nathan Frazer says.
Roadblock’s champion-versus-champion match with legitimate stakes is highlighted in a package: NXT Women’s Champion Giulia versus Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer. Triple H says it will determine the future of WWE’s women’s division, and Vic Joseph interestingly labels it a unification match.
Jordynne Grace vs Cora Jade
TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich sits ringside, preparing to defend against Jade at TNA Sacrifice on March 14. Grace dominates until Jade pulls the hair (watch it, ref), and in picture-in-picture, the former runs her into the turnbuckles. The “X” is thrown, and medical staff attend to Jade until the broadcast returns. “Due to a referee stoppage, Cora Jade is unable to compete,” Garcia announces. “Therefore, your winner is Jordynne Grace.” Jade walks away on her own, although another sidelining injury would be devastating.
Winner: Jordynne Grace
Vic Joseph conducts a split-screen interview between Ethan Page and Je’Von Evans, who compete in a New York City Street Fight next week. Page expresses offense to the 20-year-old’s presence in NXT, breaking Evans’ jaw in December. Evans responds, vowing to never let anyone take his smile or joy away again.
Kale Dixon vs Trick Williams
“Whoop that trick” stays alive, and Trick Shot from Williams ends the match immediately – ironically another referee stoppage. Williams calls out Eddy Thorpe, who appears on the podium, laying out a challenge in two weeks: NXT Underground.
Winner: Trick Williams
Cameras cut to backstage where Roxanne Perez is found over Grace’s body, steel chair in-hand. After, UFC-style cameras catch commentary’s reactions to Williams’ Trick Shot before they preview Roadblock, where The Undertaker, Bubba Ray Dudley and Mickie James will be in attendance.
X-Division Champion Moose takes Roadblock media row questions, planning to leave the event with two titles and as the “face of this franchise.” Ava announces Grace versus Perez for Roadblock before Fatal Influence interrupt, and Fallon Henley unsuccessfully demands a Women’s North American Championship rematch.
Ricky Saints finally appears, only to be met by an unwelcoming Ridge Holland backstage. Shawn Spears, and family, block his path and promise that “this revolution will be televised.”
Shawn Spears vs Tony D’Angelo (c) – North American Championship
Backed by his new family in Izzi Dame, Niko Vance and Brooks Jensen, Spears actually looks like a credible challenger. D’Angelo shows his typical fire and connects with a superplex before picture-in-picture, where Spears takes control and mocks the opposing D’Angelo Family. The champion makes a comeback, Spears applies the Sharpshooter to the injured lower back but D’Angelo hulks up for Forgetta Bout It. Dame assists Spears in the kick-out, prompting a three-on-three family feud where Spears pushes “Stacks” into D’Angelo, dropping him back-first to the floor. The champion kicks out of C4 to a standing audience and attempts a spinebuster, only to crumble and allow Spears to capitalize for victory. Spears wins gold, stunning Orlando and standing tall with his family.
Winner: Shawn Spears
NXT 3/4/25
Orlando, FL
The “resurrection of perfection” for Shawn Spears has been handled thoughtfully, and he headlined a card of generally solid in-ring action. None of it supported Roadblock next week, and the build for an actually stacked set of matches was lackluster tonight. A fake press conference for Femi versus Moose was the extent of it.
