It’s somehow already Saturday again. And a new month, at that! Before we get into it, a proper SlamWrestling.net shout out needs to go out to Tommy for covering AEW Grand Slam two weeks ago!

The snow is (mostly) melting here in Toronto but we’re getting more this weekend. Fun times! Surely there’s no snow in Oakland tonight!

Tonight on Collision, we’ll be hearing from The Best Bout Machine, Kenny Omega. It feels safe to say someone else may show up and interrupt him. As well, Swerve Strickland will face Clark Connors from New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Here. We. Go!

1. FTR vs. Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong

The first of two tag matches scheduled for the evening. Leave it to FTR to always find a creative way to hurt their opponents.

After taking a huge amount of offense from both FTR members, O’Reilly is able to get around and make the hot tag. The action continues and all four wrestlers are spent quickly in this one but keep fighting. Both teams are known for, if anything, their resiliency.

But the ref may have missed a call. *Insert joke about NFL refs and Kansas City*

These wrestlers are as tough as they come.

A quick turn around from the Undisputed Kingdom swings momentum. Roderick Strong disrupts the Shatter Machine.

A match that goes around 20 minutes sees FTR potentially tease a heel turn after the fact.

Winners: Undisputed Kingdom.

FTR decline handshakes after the loss.

A video package airs with Willow Nightingale giving the Death Riders a message: The infectious Willow smile is gone and that’s a problem she aims to fix.

2. Wheeler Yuta vs. Willie Mack

Jon Moxley gets involved, entering the ring and “encouraging” Wheeler Yuta to deal more damage after the quick victory.

Winner: Wheeler Yuta.

Yuta will take on Cope Wednesday on Dynamite.

Mercedes Mone is backstage and gets interrupted by Billie Starks, who has a warning message from Momo Watanabe.

A video of Toni Storm recovering at home airs, in which she warns Mariah May. Their match at Revolution will be a No Disqualifications, Falls Count Anywhere match.

3. Swerve Strickland vs. Clark Connors

There’s a moment where a crack is heard and Connors needs a moment outside the ring to recover.

Prince Nana reminds everyone that “the most dangerous man in AEW” is back. I’m not so sure he ever left.

Winner: Swerve Strickland.

Backstage, Alicia Atout is with “Big Boom” AJ and a challenge is laid out for Revolution… by Johnny TV!

Back at the desk, Nigel and Tony are joined by arguably the most over wrestler in all of AEW, none other than Harley Cameron!

4. The Infantry vs. Dave Dutra, Nick Ruiz and Vinnie Massaro

Despite this being a quick match, STP make sure to keep the action fast-paced and earn a quick victory.

Winners: The Infantry.

5. Daniel Garcia (c) vs. Adam Cole for the TNT Championship

Cole is quick to take the action to Daniel Garcia, not wasting any time.

Inside the ring. Outside the ring. Doesn’t matter.

No winner is declared. This match ends in a no-contest as Shane Taylor Promotions come out and interfere, attacking both champion and challenger. Welp.

“Big Boom” finds his teammates for the Trios match. It will be Johnny TV and MxM against “Big Boom” AJ, Orange Cassidy, and Mark Briscoe! What’s the word of the day?

Max Caster is taking a day off to “rest”, as the kids say. Or maybe we can call it load management? Whatever you call it, Max is enjoying the day outdoors.

A video package airs, hyping up The Opps. As if they needed it.

6. Julia Hart vs. Queen Aminata

The two trade headlocks to start the match. Both trade offense in bursts, but not in a way where the pacing feels off.

Reminder, kids, headbutts aren’t only legal in footy!

Winner: Queen Aminata.

Brody King comes out to check on Julia Hart but gets surprised by Kazuchika Okada, getting hit in the head with the champ’s title from behind.

This is how you interlace stories together.

Speaking of stories, it’s time we checked in with Kenny Omega, from his home in Winnipeg.

7. Big Bill and Bryan Keith vs. Bandido and Powerhouse Hobbs

Hobbs comes out and is greeted warmly in his own backyard, being about a 45 minute drive from his hometown.

The only acceptable way to start this match was always Big Bill and Hobbs in the ring.

I mean, putting Bandido and Hobbs together is just *chef’s kiss*. These two are bound to do something crazy.

As I was thinking it, and I’m sure some of you as well, Bandido and Hobbs read our minds.

After his great match against Will Ospreay on Dynamite, Keith and Bandido get back to it.

The hometown wrestler gets the pin.

Winners: Bandido and Powerhouse Hobbs.

Summary

There have been a lot of 4/5 ratings for Collision episodes. This is a weekly show that is delivering time and time again. What better way to cap the night with the hometown kid getting the win for his team?
