Deville comments on WWE exit

On Daria & Toni Unwrapped, Sonya Deville has revealed her thoughts about her release from WWE.

Deville said she got a call and was told by WWE that they were not renewing her contract despite the two sides being in the middle of negotiations.

“I was shocked…It was crazy. There are so many different factors. The fact of what led to us having the mind-sets we had before the phone call. The fact that I had been there for 10 years. I had a great relationship with almost everybody from backstage to talent, across the board. Everyone was like family there,” said Deville (Daria Berenato).

Deville’s partner, Toni Cassano, thought Deville would be working at WWE forever but Deville had talked about wanting to do so many things but her “hands were tied” in WWE.

“First and foremost, I had the greatest 10 years of my life. I am so grateful… I lived out dreams I couldn’t have imagined… I am so grateful to the WWE. At the end of the day, it is a business. I think business-minded. So, for whatever the reason and I don’t know the reason… I put 150% effort in the entire 10 years but more importantly the last three,” Deville said about having to move down to Florida to rehab at the Performance Center.

“I was very surprised because if they had given you the reins to become the greatest heel there ever was, so I feel that wasn’t fair. They didn’t use her for what she is the greatest at,” added Cassano calling the WWE “crazy” for letting Deville go.
