Greetings and salutations! We are days removed from AEW Grand Slam Australia and this edition of AEW Dynamite might have some slams to talk about. The AEW International Championship series begins as Orange Cassidy goes up against Roderick Strong, and the winner of that match will face Konosuke Takeshita next week on Dynamite, and the winner of that match will face Kenny Omega at AEW Revolution on March 9th. MJF and “Hangman” Adam Page will have a face-to-face in what will for sure be war of words. We will also hear from the new AEW Women’s champion, Toni Storm. Here is the currently announced card:

  • Street Fight: Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Big Bill
  • Revolution International Championship Series: Orange Cassidy vs. Roderick Strong
  • The Opps vs. The Patriarchy
  • Megan Bayne vs. Kris Statlander
  • Hangman Page goes face-to-face with MJF

With all of that and so much more, let’s get straight to the action.

MJF and Page go face-to-face

MJF kicks off the show and it’s time for a good ol’ face-to-face confrontation. With both men in the ring, MJF kicks things off by saying that he doesn’t speak poor. MJF recounts the first Casino Battle Royale that determined the first contender for the AEW Championship. MJF says that Page cost him that title shot back then and since then he’s had to climb his way back to the top all on his own. MJF says he had to climb his way back to the top and beat all the fans’ favorite wrestlers in the process. MJF then goes out of his way to remind Page that he beat him for the first Dynamite Diamond Ring. MJF then runs through everything he has accomplished in AEW. Page questions why MJF talks to him like he doesn’t know who he is and then tells MJF that he should be happy about everything he’s accomplished, but that MJF is always angry. Page asks MJF if he’s angry because no matter what, MJF can’t win the crowd over. MJF is about to lose it and the security surrounding the ring props up ready to stop a brawl from happening, but MJF is able to calm himself back down. MJF then says that since the dawn of AEW, Page has gotten special treatment because the fans think of him as the main character of AEW.

MJF questions how the fans can forgive Page for everything he’s done. MJF brings up the fact that Page ended Christopher Daniels’ career. Page says that  if he could rip out his spine and give it to Daniels he would, and then lists Daniels’ accolades through his career. Page says that Daniels took care of wrestling, even when wrestling didn’t take care of him. Hangman acknowledges that the fans can forgive him, but he doesn’t know why and wonders what MJF’s legacy would be if his career ended tonight. Hangman says everything he has he worked for and it wasn’t easy. Page says MJF spent five years cheating and scheming his way to the top. MJF says Hangman was the golden boy even before AEW had its first show. MJF says Hangman can be the main character all he wants, and he has no problem being the bad guy. MJF spits on Hangman and runs away before Page can attack him and is held back by the security that was surrounding the ring. Page attacks some of the security until he’s confronted by Christopher Daniels. Daniels says he knows who Hangman is and he knows who he is as well.
