Ahead of Grad Slam from Australia next week, AEW brings its fans another installment of Collision tonight from Bryan Keith’s hometown of Houston, TX. It’s only fitting he gets a spot on the show as he takes on Bandido in what’s sure to be a great match. As well, Harley Cameron continues making sure everyone knows her name.

Sit tight. It’s Saturday night!

We start off the action with the Death Riders as Marina Shafir tosses a security guard in front of the broadcast desk. Jon Moxley says the show starts when he says so. He says he’s sick of Cope and has 1000 reasons why Cope won’t be given a title shot. The simplest one is that he doesn’t like anything about Cope.

He says that, if he decides it’s time to break Cope’s neck all the way, he will.

1. Three-Way Trios match: Undisputed Kingdom vs. TNT Champion Daniel Garcia / Matt Menard / Angelo Parker vs. Shane Taylor Promotions

Three-way tag matches are always tough to keep up with. Let’s try.

The action starts with Undisputed Kingdom and STP in the ring.

After Daniel Garcia tags in for Undisputed Kingdom, Shane Taylor and his allies methodically dismantle him. The action spills out to in front of the broadcast desk. Garcia tries to mount a comeback but he escapes… only to the wrong corner.

Garcia is able to drop Shane Taylor but cannot get the tag as the Infantry quickly take out his allies. Garcia is finally able to tag someone, but it’s Kyle O’Rielly.

The action breaks down and Adam Cole connects with a boot to Shane Taylor’s jaw. Everyone stands in the ring and it’s an all-out brawl. Why they always decide to have one ref responsible to control nine (NINE) wrestlers is beyond me. A thrust kick from Cole gets Carley Bravo.

Winners: Undisputed Kingdom via pinfall.

The Trios champs, the Death Riders (Claudio / Yuta / PAC), storm the ring to remind Undisputed kingdom of who the real best trio in AEW is. Cole says he’s sick and tired of the Death Riders doing whatever they want. A match is set for the Trios titles on Dynamite next week.

A video package airs for FTR, especially highlighting their bloody match against the Briscoes. They are in pursuit of the Tag-Team titles.

Back from commercial, Max Caster reminds everyone he has an open challenge for anyone willing to step up.

2. Bandido vs. Bryan Keith

Speed and power are the name of the game in this contest. Bandido gets the first advantage as Keith gets staggered. An unsuccessful pinfall attempt follows.

The two exchange chops and strikes. Bandido gets to the top rope and catches Bryan Keith on his way down, but gets the worst of the exchange.

There’s a reason Bandido’s return was highly-anticipated. As much as this match is about Bandido, Bryan Keith shows he can hang with the luchador. A big headbutt in the corner staggers his opponent and the two eventually separate to opposite corners for a duel. They both collide boot-to-jaw in the middle.

The Bad Apple gets picked up and dropped.

Winner: Bandido via pinfall.

Lexy Nair is backstage with Will Hobbs, who’s looking for a fight with the Redwood.

3. La Faccion Ingobernable vs. Ares Alexander, Jay Alexander, and Rick Savage

Here’s the scheduled, predictable squash match.

A quick match that doesn’t provide any surprises.

Winners: LFI via pinfall.

But here comes Komander to make the save as LFI continues the beatdown.

It’s 3-on-1… until Hologram returns! He’s not been seen since October. Rush is not happy. He knocks out one of the refs as a few come out to stop the carnage.

Lexy Nair tries to catch up with Magen Bayne. Thunder Rosa tries to say hi to her but Bayne walks away. Thunder Rosa isn’t going to let that harsh her vibe. I wouldn’t be surprised if these two meet in the ring some point very soon.

Back from a commercial break, the ring is set up with a microphone and guitar. You know what time it is! HARLEY HALFTIME IN HOUSTON! This is the best part of tonight’s show. Mercedes Muppe is in her backpack. Cameron gets interrupted but speaks out for herself.

In a pre-taped sit-down, Lexy Nair sits with Buddy Matthews and Kazuchika Okada. The two ALMOST come to blows but Matthews walks away after saying they’ll meet at Grand Slam.

4. Dustin Rhodes vs. Izzy James

Another quick one that’s over before it really got a chance to get going.

Winner: Dustin Rhodes

Rhodes cuts a promo calling out MJF, calling him out for a match Tuesday in Austin, TX.

Soon after, the Death Riders are seen backstage, warning their opponents at Dynamite this coming Tuesday.

5. Thunder Rosa vs. Penelope Ford

These two have been jabbing verbally for a while and this match promises to be physical.

Thunder Rosa always brings it, especially in her home state. She comes out with TORO of the Houston Texans.

Ford gets up to the top rope for a Moonsault but Rosa moves out at the last moment.

I would have liked to see TORO at least try to distract Ford in this one. But that’s just me being a fan of chaos.

Winner: Thunder Rosa via pinfall.

Megan Bayne interrupts her post-match celebration. Ford interrupts, attacking Rosa from behind before leaving her to Bayne for an F5.

A highlight package aired from DEFY Wrestling last night where Ricochet and Swerve Strickland made an appearance.

Lexy Nair is backstage with Bun B. Ricochet interrupts. He proceeds to talk down to THE Bun B, insulting his burgers and assaulting a worker. He tells Bun B to thank Prince Nana for the robe.

6. Mariah May vs. Shay Karmichael

May ends this one fast after rushing her opponent.

Winner: Mariah May

Luther comes out to present May with the shoe. While he has her attention, Toni Storm takes the place of Karmichael and makes May run off into the crowd.

Backstage, the Don Callis family is running roughshod and they even get Mark Davis to prove his allegiance.

7. Mark Briscoe vs. Kyle Fletcher

Fletcher gets a running-front kick right as the bell rings. He’s clearly still ticked off about his only loss in the Continental Classic being to Briscoe.

Briscoe gets Fletcher to the outside before getting a chair into the ring and unfolding a table from under the ring. But it doesn’t work the way he plans as Fletcher is able to send him into the ring post head first, cutting open Briscoe’s head.

That’s just mean.

As the two end up outside the ring, Fletcher gets reminded by a fan that Briscoe “has a family! You know their names!” Crowds are great.

A brainbuster on the top turnbuckle seals it.

Winner: Kyle Fletcher via pinfall.

Summary

Overall, this show provided a number of solid moments. The Ford / Rosa match in particular served multiple purposes. It not only seemed to settled their beef, but kindled a spark between Rosa and Megan Bayne. This feud will be popcorn-worthy.

The best part of Collision for this writer was Harley Cameron. She’s an undeniable star.
