One thing we learned from the second night of Road to New Beginning is that the Great-O-Khan really, really, really doesn’t like Shota Umino.

Last night, Khan ripped a light stick from the hand of a young Umino fan threatening to smash it. Umino wrestled it away from Khan and gave it back to her. Tonight, it was more of the same disrespect as Shota Umino, Tomohiro Ishii and Ryusuke Taguchi took on The United Empire (The Great-O-Khan, Francesco Akira, Jakob Austin Young).

Just like last night Akira wasn’t backing down from challenging Ishii in this match. He takes a licking but keeps on ticking. He manages to give Ishii a German Suplex. Umino DDTs Khan off the ropes as Taguchi puts an ankle lock on Young. Young rolls through and kicks out of it. He clocks The Funky Weapon in the head with a kick that dazes him. As Young bounces off the ropes his leg, knee gives out on him. He rolls out of another ankle lock only to get drop kicked in leg, knee again. Young finally submits to the ankle lock.

As Umino is heading to the back Khan attacks him from behind. He chokes him with his own towel as he drags him back to the ring. He smashes him into the side of the ring, the ringside barricade. He then takes out a pair of scissors cutting the towel to shreds as he stands on Umino’s throat. Not a nice guy that Khan.

In the only singles match and a match nobody really wanted, Yoshi-Hashi took on Ryohei Oiwa. Hashi took on the role of heel whipping Oiwa into the steel barricade numerous times and slamming him on the arena floor. Oiwa would eventually get the surprise win with a splash off the top rope and a lariat.

NJPW Road to New Beginning – Night Two Results

Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Katsuya Murashima

Tanahashi gets the ‘W’ with a Boston Crab.

Winner: Hiroshi Tanahashi

Toru Yano, Boltin Oleg, Master Wato and Shoma Kato versus Ren Narita, Yujiro Takahashi, Sho and Yoshinobu Kanemaru

Before the match begins and the faces arrive Sho and Narita hide the belts they stole under the ring.

Yano rips off one of the turnbuckles beating all the heels with hit. He retrieves the stolen belts from under the ring. The heels attack him as things break down on the floor. Narita throws Oleg into a steel barricade. Naturally and predictably the Young Lion (Kato) eats the pin from Yujiro’s Pimp Drop. Narita and Sho steal the belts back giving Yano a beatdown on the floor and hitting Oleg in the “lower abdomen” to do so.

Winners: Ren Narita, Yujiro Takahashi, Sho and Yoshinobu Kanemaru

Shota Umino, Tomohiro Ishii and Ryusuke Taguchi vs The United Empire (The Great-O-Khan, Francesco Akira, Jakob Austin Young)

Gedo is a victim of a triple drop-kick by Naito. Hiromu and Bushi. Bushi drop-kicks him from the top rope. Bushi makes him submit to a leg lock. After the bell rings LIJ continues to attack Gedo as Shingo and Drilla fight on the floor. Tsuji and Kidd compare championship belts.
