Fans were shocked to learn last year that AEW’s Adam Cole and Britt Baker were no longer a couple. The pair had been dating since 2017.

Cole told Sports Illustrated: “We are no longer a couple but when I say that we both still love each other and are still friends and still so supportive of each other, that could not be more true.”

Cole went on to say: “I think the world of Britt. I want her to be as happy and successful as humanly possible, and I know she feels the exact same way about me. We did decide to go our separate ways, but that doesn’t mean that she will not be an incredibly important part of my life. Britt is absolutely one of my best friends. She’s someone that I loved dearly and will always love dearly, and there’s no ill will between me and her whatsoever.”

Despite Cole’s comments their break-up may not be as amicable as fans have been led to believe. On his Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Konnan claimed to know the reason why the couple split-up.

“I was the first one that said her and Cole had broken up. They [wrestling fans] were on me again. Now you see it’s true and I’m gonna throw this little one in there a very credible source says it happened because she was cheating on him,” said Konnan.

Konnan went on to say that he has been told Baker has “attitude issues” backstage and that is why many of the women don’t want to work with her in the ring.

On the issue of Baker having heat backstage with the talent Dave Meltzer reported:

“If you talk to a lot of people in AEW, obviously Britt Baker is polarizing. There are people who don’t like Britt. The idea that nobody in the locker room likes Britt is absolutely not true. I talked to a lot of people today, at the end of the day she’s not being used right now and most people don’t know why and ultimately it’s Tony’s decision whether she’s going to be used or not.”

On X, Baker has seemingly responded to those allegations:
