Various reports are stating that AEW superstar Ricky Starks has asked for his release from the company.

Tony Khan has in turn denied that request.

Ibou of WrestlePurists on Tuesday stated that Starks and Khan have had a major falling out when it comes to their business and personal relationships.

“I have also been informed that Starks has never turned down any creative ideas throughout his entire 10-month television absence and he is simply just not being utilized,” stated Ibou.

It has been reported that Starks’ contract doesn’t end until later this year.

Starks has been touring the indie scene working for TCW, BTW and Glory Pro.

He did appear at GCW’s American Dream show, announced he was back but only to be pulled by AEW.

Starks was last on AEW television back in March of 2024 as part of a tag team title tournament.
