Newly crowned TNA World Champion Joe Hendry has made a public challenge. He wants John Cena.
Speaking to Bully Ray and Mark Henry on Busted Open Radio he was asked who he as champion is “looking over his shoulder” for?
“John Cena,” said Hendry without hesitation.
Hendry went on to explain his choice.
“Let me explain why…I have done all the things I thought would be impossible but we are in a world where anything can happen. Just before Genesis, HHH tweeted us. Shawn Michaels tweeted the show and John Cena who hadn’t tweeted about it before tweeted the TNA logo on his Instagram,” said Hendry relating the recent happenings and the new deal between TNA and WWE.
“What kind of representative of TNA would I be if I didn’t call out John Cena?” he then asked.
Hendry said part of the reason he wants to face Cena in the ring and on the microphone is that people haven’t seen what he can truly do on the microphone yet. Hendry says any champion should take it upon themselves to challenge themselves.
“I believe I can hang with John Cena,” said a confident Hendry.
