Who the heck airs a new content on New Years Eve? NXT, that’s who. Our brains are a bit scrambled and fried from last night so here’s your slightly hungover NXT report for the final show of 2024.
Oh, yeah. Happy New Year…then, now, forever, together.
Kelani Jordan versus Lola Vice
Notice that Kelani has a bit more swagger and attitude lately? She is coming into her own for sure. It doesn’t take long for both women to start shoving and trash talking. Jordan does one of her little flips and Vice catches her in a sleeper hold. Jordan bashes Vice into a corner and the ropes. Vice refuses to let go. Finally, Jordan just falls backwards with Vice breaking the hold. Cora Jade runs down to the ring with a kendo stick in hand leaping up onto the apron. Vice collides with Jade knocking her off the apron as Kelani rolls her up.
Jade starts beating both women with her kendo stick. Stephanie Vaquer hits the ring. She and Jade have a standoff. Jade swings with the stick. Vaquer catches and traps it. Jade backs up into Vice. Vice unleashes a back fist but Jade ducks. Vice nails Vaquer instead. Whoops. Vice tries to apologize.

They brawl in the back into some kind of production room where Page’s head is smashed off a table.

Shawn Spears appears. He offers his guidance. Wes Lee steps up to Spears. He claims they aren’t lost or in need of help. Spears cryptically says he everything he needs and walks off. Hank and Tank cannot believe that Lee, Dupont and Tyriek are going to listen to Spears, of all people. Lee points out that Hank and Tank are down a man now. Hank and Tank wonder who they can find to back them up on such short notice.

All three women start arguing as officials break them up. Jade stands in the background laughing and smiling. GM Ava approaches Jade announcing a Fatal Four-Way, Number One Contender’s match for next week involving all four women at New Years Evil.
Ava meets with William Regal, Lexis King and Charlie Dempsey. Ava argues that the Heritage Cup really doesn’t change hands on a disqualification. King argues he was declared the winner. Ava has decided that King and Dempsey will meet for the Heritage Cup at News Year’s Evil but the match will be Sudden Death, only one fall. Regal says he will have nothing to do with the situation or the match. He walks off. Ava demands Lexis hand over the cup. She hands it back to Dempsey. “But, I did everything right!” argues King. You know where this is heading. King is robbed so he flips back to a heel.

She invites him to a “hot New Years Eve party”. Adonis declines. Lyons bounces off screen. Adonis weighs his options.
Shawn Spears congratulates Izzi on her win. She tells Shawn to leave her alone. She doesn’t want his advice. The entire D’Angelo Family cuts Spears off. Tony tells Spears to leave Izzi alone.
“A man who listens. That’s new,” says Izzi about Tony before walking off.
Spears says he was listening…to the beatdown the Don received last week.
Tony tells his boys to “take care of him”.
A dejected Andre Chase is wandering around the backstage area. Kale Dixon asks Chase when the next semester begins.
“Son, don’t you know. Chase U is dead,” says Chase and just bumbles off.
Back in the ring, Mike Rome is about to announce the NXT Superstar of the Year. Oba Femi’s music hits. Femi calls the award a popularity contest. It means nothing. He doesn’t care if the fans cheer for him or not. He will still destroy everything and everyone in the ring.
Trick Williams begs to differ. He slams Femi for turning his back on the fans. Eddy Thorpe appears shoving Femi into Williams. He takes the award smashing it over Femi’s head. Thorpe poses with the NXT Championship.
