On a media call earlier this week, Tony Khan mentioned World’s End on Dec. 28 as the “end of an era” in AEW programming. We now have more details on what he meant by this.
In a joint press release with Warner Bros. Discovery, the promotion stated that the new year will bring substantial changes to the way fans can consume AEW content.
“Starting Wednesday, January 1, 2025, WBD’s networks and platforms will remain the exclusive home of AEW Dynamite (Wednesdays on TBS) and AEW Collision (Saturdays on TNT), and will also, for the first time, stream those programs live for Max subscribers in the U.S.”
Khan also put emphasis on the simulcast nature of the programming in the media call. If fans in the US miss out on a live broadcast, all content will be available on Max immediately after the conclusion of live coverage.
Max will also hold PPV distribution.
“As previously announced, AEW and WBD will also collaborate to distribute AEW live pay-per-view events on Max, with all marketing and promotions of those PPV events exclusively centered on Max. AEW PPV distribution on Max will begin later in 2025, with additional information and pricing to be shared in the coming months,” explained the release.
To start, around 700 hours of AEW content will be available on Max.
Currently, Max is not available in Canada. But some programming from Max does find its way to other services, including Crave. This is yet to be confirmed by the promotion.
