The Bloodline will have the advantage in tomorrow’s WarGames match at Survivor Series. Jacob Fatu defeated Jey Uso to win the advantage in Smackdown’s main event tonight.
It was Fatu’s first singles match in WWE. We are treated to Fatu’s entrance. Fatu’s music and ominous, thunderous. He is surrounded in red light at the end.
Fatu just scowls at Uso from across the ring. Fatu puts Uso down with just a shoulder tackle. He swarms Uso choking over the ropes.
“I love you Solo!” he shouts.
Chops and punches has Uso on his knees.
“Is that all you’ve got?” screams Fatu stomping Uso into the mat.
A head butt drives him into a corner. Uso ducks Fatu, clotheslines him over the top rope. He dives outside the ring. Fatu catches him throws him into the steel post and the announce table.
Fatu locks in a nerve lock in the middle of the ring. Uso battles back to his feet only to be head butted down. Uso shoves Fatu into the steel post. Fatu runs at Uso and hits the post again. Uso recovers as Fatu lays on the mat. Uso throws hands as the fans chant “Yeet!” with every blow that lands.
Fatu falls into a corner. Uso backs up his butt nailing Fatu for a two count. Both men can barely stand.
“Let’s go Jey!” shouts the crowd.
Fatu catches Uso in the air slamming him to the mat. He splashes Uso off the ropes for a two count.
Fatu backs up his butt on Uso in a corner. Fatu praises Solo again. Fatu snatches Uso up in midair off the ropes with a Samoan Drop for a two count.
Fatu leaps off the top rope. Uso puts his knees up and then hits a spear. Uso Splash…for only a two count.
Fatu rolls out to the floor to regroup. Uso dives through the ropes sending Fatu into the announce table. Fatu catches Uso with a super kick to the head. Fatu slams Uso on the announce table with a Samoan Drop. The table doesn’t break. Fatu wins the match with his springboard moonsault off the ropes.
The Bloodline congratulates Fatu at the entrance way.
To begin the show though, Bianca Belair comes out in her street clothes. Aren’t they overdue to change her entrance theme? I don’t need anyone at all? It hasn’t seemed to fit her face character for such a long time.
Naomi, Bayley, Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley follow. Ripley is still wearing the face mask. Rhea points out that some of them aren’t the best of friends but it doesn’t matter. They all have someone they want to get their hands on. Belair knows it was one of them that injured Jade.
Liv Morgan, Nia Jax, Raquel Rodriguez, Tiffany Stratton, and Candice Lerae come out…but only to the entrance way. Jax tries to sow some dissention within the group reminding them of how they turned on each other in the past like Iyo and Bayley. Liv finds it interesting that Jade was attacked and now Bayley is on their team.
This goes on way too long and some of the insults are too childish. The heels turn to leave. The faces attack. Everyone brawls throwing those REALLY phony punches. Can someone teach some of these women how to throw a real punch? Please.
Andrade versus Shinsuke Nakamura
The idea here is that Andrade believes Shinsuke “skipped the line” when it comes to challenging LA Knight for the United States Champion. Shinsuke’s theme has been remixed for the thousandth time. You just know that Shinsuke is HHH’s pet project. He has some Alice Cooper like make-up on now too.
Why would Shinsuke risk injury in a bout the night before his championship tomorrow? Makes no sense. Andrade puts Shinsuke on notice with a flying body press from the top rope. Andrade is one step ahead until he goes to dive through the ropes and Shinsuke kicks him right in the skull. The fans are actually cheering for Shinsuke. Andrade lays out Shinsuke with a moonsault on the floor. The crowd is not really into this one except for those big pop moments.
Andrade dodges the Kinshasa. He back elbows Shinsuke in the face. Shinsuke pulls the turnbuckle off and moves out of the way as Andrade tries to deliver his running knees. Andrade collides with the exposed steel. Kinshasa to the back of Andrade’s head.
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura
LA Knight runs into the ring. Shinsuke spits mist into his eyes and then just walks away as Knight writhes in pain scratching at his eyes. The commentators wonder if Knight’s vision will be damaged heading into tomorrow’s title match.
General Manager Nick Aldis interrupts The Bloodline backstage who are readying for the WarGames advantage match between Jacob Fatu and Jey Uso.
“I don’t want the numbers game factoring into this match. Everyone and I mean everyone is banned from ringside,” announces Aldis to them.
Elsewhere, Tommaso Ciampa chews out Johnny Gargano for what has happened to their team lately.
“We aren’t losers!” he screams in Gargano’s face.
Ciampa believes that Gargano’s friendship with Alex Shelley has thrown a wrench into the works.
“You have one more week to figure things out or it is MY way,” warns Ciampa before he stomps off.
Kevin Owens cuts a promo backstage highlighting all of the things The Bloodline has done to him in a timeline. “Cody Rhodes deserves everything that is coming to him on Saturday Night’s Main Event. The American Nightmare is going to become the Canadian Dream,” Owens promises.
WWE Champion Cody Rhodes versus Carmelo Hayes – Non-Title Match
Hayes says as he comes to the ring that Kevin Owens is right. Cody stabs people in the heart not the back.
“Who needs enemies when you have Cody Rhodes as a friend?” asks Hayes.
Cody bounces Hayes off the announce table. Back in the ring, Rhodes hits the Disaster Kick on Hayes. Rhodes drives Hayes to the mat with a stalling supersuplex from the second rope. They trade punches in the middle of the ring. Hayes gets a two count with a facebuster. A running powerslam is followed by a figure four by Cody. Hayes reaches the ropes to break the hold. Cody Cutter. Cross Rhodes.
Winner: Cody Rhodes
Roman Reigns and CM Punk have their sit down meeting. Punk is a little late which pisses off Roman who demands to know where he is. Heyman doesn’t know.
“This guy keeps me waiting?” says Roman as he stands up preparing to leave. CM Punk finally arrives.
“I didn’t show up for you. I showed up for your wise man,” says Punk.
Roman claims he doesn’t want Punk’s help.
“I am not here for you. I am here for Paul,” responds Punk.
Roman doesn’t like Punk’s tone or attitude. Roman doesn’t want to team with Punk.
The Wise Man advises that Roman accept his help. The Wise Man advises Punk that he is Solo’s next target.
“Divided we all fall to Solo. United, at best, we survive,” Heyman says.
Punk and Roman agree to team for Survivor Series and then go their separate ways.
Punk lets it be known that Heyman will owe him a favour in future.
“Wise Man, what’s the favour?” asks Roman.
“Let’s get through WarGames tomorrow night and then we will have all the time to talk about it,” answers Heyman.
Piper Niven vs Lash Legend vs Michin – United States Championship Tournament Match
B-Fab comes out to stop Chelsea Green from interfering on Niven’s behalf. Legend chokeslams Piper for a two count. Legend complains about the count. Niven gives both women a running senton. Michin breaks up the count. Legend hits her finisher on Niven but Michin steals the win.
Winner: Michin
LA Knight is backstage receiving medical treatment. Knight complains that he can barely see. Knight says Shinsuke has a REAL problem now. Knight is not backing out of the championship match tomorrow night.
Aldi addresses The Usos and Zayne. He gives them the same warning he gave The Bloodline about interference in the main event.
