Journal Entry – 10/25/2024
This week’s journey takes me deep into West Tennessee, to the small town of Dyer for a Premier Pro Wrestling event. Some might overlook these tiny spots on the map, but to me, places like this are the heartbeat of Southern wrestling. Small towns live for these events, and the fans here? They’re as invested as they come.

Dyer’s a small town, no exaggeration—just over 2,300 folks spread across a couple of square miles. My first trip here was in July 2023, alongside The Ill-Begotten (Alex Taylor, Danny Dealz, and myself) to take on the tough Crowley duo. Tonight, though, it’s a solo trip. I’m not complaining; the three and a half-hour drive through Tennessee backroads is pure fall beauty. Windows down, radio blasting, leaves in full color. Sometimes, that drive’s as freeing as the wrestling itself.

Premier Pro Wrestling has a home at the Dyer Fire Department. They pull the trucks out, set up the ring, and let the matches roll. Add in the smell of homemade barbecue from the firefighters’ concession stand, and it’s got everything a classic Southern wrestling show needs—except that I can’t eat until after my match!

Tonight, I faced “The Outlaw” Chase McCoy, a local from nearby Dyersburg. Apparently, Chase started wrestling under a mask at just 10 years old—wild, right? I want to see footage of that.
Our match was a classic tale. I took control early on, out-wrestling him, but his size gave him an edge. A little strategy (a steel ring post does wonders) helped, but Chase proved tougher than I expected. I lured him out of the ring, ran him around the fire station, and when we finally got back inside, I baited him into my trap. A well-placed Asiatic Spike later, and I was on my way to the back, with Chase down for the count.
Cardio, kids—it’s important!

Time to hit the road back to the Tater Peeler Ranch. With an intact body and a full envelope, there’s not much more you can ask for. Next stop: Missouri, World League Wrestling, and a showdown with “The Legacy” Leland Race.
