Premier Hits: Women’s Wrestling’s Next Breakout Stars is a must-watch for any wrestling fan looking to scope out the talent of the next generation of female wrestlers.

This collection of matches, with a run time of six hours and available on DVD or digitally, features the female wrestlers of Premier Championship Wrestling, which is based in Cleveland, Ohio. From newcomers like Holidead to fan favorites like Zoey Skye, viewers get a look at the diversity of the skillset and characters on the roster. Standout performances from a few women throughout the compilation include Katie Arquette, Rachel Bostic and the previously mentioned, Zoey Skye. The backbones of PCW’s women’s division showed incredible in-ring skills and character development.

Premier Hits has long-term storytelling for fans to get invested in: leading up to the crowning of the inaugural PCW Women’s Champion. While six hours may seem long to some, the constant introduction of new characters and rivalries will make you want to watch it in one sitting. The stars of the roster are still showcased without overdoing it, which allows the rest of the division to have their moment in the spotlight. This made for a great use of time to ensure viewers got to see as much of the women’s division as possible. It was refreshing to frequently be introduced to new faces instead of having the top wrestlers overused.

The DVD/stream ends bittersweetly with the final match for the PCW Women’s Championship between Rachel Bostic and Katie Arquette.

Premier Hits: Women’s Wrestling’s Next Breakout Stars itself is the work of Joe Dombrowski, a long-time wrestling play-by-play announcer, currently featured as the voice of MLW. He said it was a long time in the making.

“All of the matches included came from events I was booking on through the years, and I’ve always tried to keep an eye open to the future — who was gaining steam, who was building buzz, who was just starting out but had the right attitude and mindset,” explained Dombrowski. “We had so many come through the doors with so much potential that it was difficult to narrow down to what would comfortably fit onto two discs. But, for the most part, I wanted to showcase those who are making big waves today whose origins may not be well-known.

“Whether it’s Promise Braxton, who just won Booker T’s Sherri Martel Classic in Texas, or Queen Aminata who is having a great run in AEW/ROH, or Ray Lyn who’s one of the most recognizable personalities on Women of Wrestling as Chantilly Chella, or a number of others, I’m very proud of so many talents who have pushed themselves, leveled up, and seen their risks and sacrifices pay off big.”

As women’s wrestling continues to evolve, the contribution of every woman on any promotion’s roster matters, not just the bigger names, as proven in this collection. A star can come from anywhere, hence why the subtitle “Breakout Stars” works so well.
