The former voice of the WWE is back.
Scott D’Amore has revealed that Mauro Ranallo will be Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling’s main announcer.
MAMMA MIA!
The soundtrack to a great wrestling match is so vital to creating memorable moments that can last a lifetime. Nobody does it better than Mauro.
So honored and stoked to have this legend on the call as the voice for #MAPLELEAFPRO! https://t.co/eOYM1yuzHr— Scott D’Amore (@ScottDAmore) August 22, 2024
Ranallo is best known for his time in NJPW and WWE on Smackdown and NXT. A prominent wrestling and MMA commentator before he ever joined WWE, Ranallo worked for them from 2015 to 2020.
His departure though was mired in controversy with Ranallo suffering from depression after alleged harassment from fellow commentator John “Bradshaw” Layfield. Ranallo has a bipolar disorder and has contributed to various charities centered around supporting those with psychological issues.
“Maple Leaf Pro is very excited to welcome an institution to our announcer’s desk. You’ll hear Mauro’s voice in all our promotional vignettes, commercials and match previews and then he’ll be there in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on October 19th and 20th from the first bell for both nights of Maple Leaf Pro’s Forged in Excellence live on Pay-Per-View exclusively on TrillerTV,” stated the promotion.
