The NJPW G1 Climax carried on today with more B Block action. The main event of today’s show saw Yota Tsuji pick up his third win of the tournament by defeating Ren Narita.

Elsewhere on the card we saw some United Empire warfare between Jeff Cobb and HENARE. The two big men went to battle, but Cobb came out on top and moved atop B Block.

The match began with a power struggle before both men began trading forearms and shoulder tackles. It was Cobb knocking down HENARE with a leaping tackle and he continued with a few big shoulder tackles to HENARE’s mid-section in the corner. Despite that offence, HENARE came right back with a lariat and flurry of strikes. He then drilled Cobb with a kick and dropped a running senton onto him.

HENARE tried to bounce off the ropes, but he was caught with a gut-wrench suplex from Cobb. He then laid several knee shots into HENARE’s spine before standing on his back. That angered HENARE, he started throwing kicks and drilled Cobb in the face with a Disaster Kick off the ropes. Both men now struggled to hit the next move as they exchanged reversals until Cobb chopped HENARE’s chest and placed him on the top rope.

Cobb leaped and dropkicked HENARE who was sitting up top and he then joined him up there to land the very impressive stalling superplex. He followed that with a standing moonsault, the Spin Cycle, a spinebuster and clubbing lariat. Cobb then went for a back elbow, but HENARE ducked it and drilled a knee into Cobb’s face. HENARE continued with an elbow and a uranage before hitting a rugby punt.

HENARE now connected the Berserker Bomb and he then took a run at Cobb but ran into an elbow. Cobb then planted HENARE with a German suplex, however, HENARE no sold it and dropped Cobb with a diving shoulder block. HENARE next hit a liver punch and attempted Streets of Rage, but Cobb blocked it and clotheslined HENARE to the ground. Cobb lifted HENARE for Tour of the Islands, but HENARE battled out to land on his feet and deliver a spinning heel kick to Cobb’s jaw.

Cobb was reeling and HENARE dropped him with a headbutt, however, HENARE then ran into the F-5000 from Cobb. Both men made it to their feet and Cobb showed respect by holding up the United Empire crown before hitting HENARE with a Tour of the Islands for the victory.
