NJPW G1 Climax 34 carried on today with more B Block action. The show was headlined by David Finlay handing Konosuke Takeshita his second loss of the tournament.

The match began with both men exchanging holds and working to get the upper hand. Takeshita picked things up with a big forearm, chop and a big boot to the face of Finlay. He then locked Finlay into a chinlock before releasing the hold to land another forearm. However, Takeshita made the mistake of going to the second rope and Finlay pushed him off sending him crashing to the floor.

Finlay joined him on the outside to slam Takeshita into the steel barricade multiple times. He then wrapped Takeshita’s hand around the steel and wrenched at that hand. When the hold was released Finlay took the action back into the ring and sent Takeshita full-speed into the turnbuckle. He continued with a suplex to Takeshita before locking him into submission, but he battled out of the hold.

Once he was free he drilled Finlay with a pump kick and a leaping lariat to take him down. Takeshita now hit multiple strikes and a brainbuster, but he then attempted the running knee and instead drilled his own knee into the turnbuckle. He fell to the outside clutching his knee and Finlay charged at him sending him flying through the barricade. Finlay made the mistake of gloating and Takeshita pushed him head-first into the ring post.

Takeshita now buried Finlay under steel chairs and dove from the ring to the outside with a rolling senton onto Finlay and the steel. When Finlay finally managed to get back in the ring he was greeted with a diving frog splash from Takeshita on the top rope. Takeshita then went back to the top and attempted a diving senton, but Finlay got his knees up. Finlay now hit Takeshita with an Irish curse backbreaker and both men then ended up on the ring apron.

Finlay charged Takeshita off the apron and he went flying arm and chest first into the ring post. He quickly brought Takeshita back into the ring to hit a Dominator and a rolling elbow, but he then ran into a Power Drive Knee from Takeshita. However, the knee was not enough and Finlay blocked a Falcon Arrow and hit Takeshita with Into Oblivion. It seemed to be over, but Takeshita somehow managed to kick out at two.

He next went for Overkill, but Takeshita blocked and then accidentally took down the referee thanks to Finlay. With the referee down, Finlay hit Takeshita with a Buckle Bomb and tried to follow that with a powerbomb, but Takeshita blocked. Takeshita drilled Finlay with a forearm and dropped him with a powerbomb of his own. However, he could not get the pin because Gedo was holding the referee on the outside.

With the referee distracted, Takeshita turned into a brutal shot to the head from Finlay’s shileleigh. Finlay then went for Overkill again, but once again it was blocked and Takeshita drilled him with a forearm. Takeshita now tried to bounce off the ropes, but Gedo grabbed his ankle and Takeshita turned his attention to him. Finlay tried to run at Takeshita with his back turned and Takeshita moved out of the way causing Finlay to knock Gedo off the ring apron.

Takeshita then spiked Finlay with a Poisonrana, followed by a Blue Thunder Bomb. He wanted the finish and went for a Falcon Arrow, however, Finlay slipped out of it and rolled Takeshita into Overkill to get the victory.
