It’s all come to this: the finals of the 2024 Crockett Cup. On one hand, The Southern Six has defeated some tough competition (some say through shortcuts) to reach the end. The Immortals, Odinson and Kratos, have worked equally hard in the National Wrestling Alliance and are poised to hoist the cup.

Plus, EC3 will defend the Ten Pounds of Gold against El Rudo De Las Chicas, Sam Adonis, in singles competition.

We get a preview of the two teams that will be facing each other for the vaunted Cup:

Once again on The CW, we come to you from The OC Theatre in Forney, TX. Joe Galli, William Patrick Corgan, and Danny Dealz have the call from the sky box, and your First Match of the Night is for the…

NWA Women’s World Tag Team Championship: The King Bees (Charity King and Danni Bee)(c) vs. Reka Tehaka and Tiffany Nieves

Bee and Tehaka start the match, and she quickly throws the shorter champ around with little problem.  King quickly tags in, and she can more than match Tehaka’s power for power.  The women are laying in the heavy lumber and at one point one of King’s strikes stuns Tehaka. The King Bees follow with a double shoulder tackle by The King Bees and Bee covers for a count of one.  Bee presses the offense but a headbutt by Tehaka stops the rally, and once in their corner, Nieves tags in, and La Princesa and Tehaka cut the ring in half, making her a Bee in Peril.  Things do not look good for one-half of the tag champions until Bee fights her way out of the corner and gets the hot tag to King, and she is a powerhouse en fuego.  She lands a Samoan drop on Nieves and covers, but Tehaka breaks the count.  Now, she drags Nieves back to their corner and tags herself in and Tehaka goes back to her dominant ways, but the double team of The King Bees is too much as the King’s Kiss (codebreaker to a front slam) ensures the champs keep the belts around their waist.

Your Winners, And Still NWA Women’s World Tag Team Champions:  The King Bees

The Bees are the dominant tag team in the women’s division to-date, and it’ll be a while before another tag team can take on this duo.

NWA World Heavyweight Championship: EC3(c) vs. Sam Adonis

From the onset, Adonis ingratiates himself to the Texas crowd as only he can, while EC3 looks on stoically.  Galli and company talk up Adonis’ bona fides in AAA and stateside (but catch up here if you wanna be cool).

Once the bell rings, they lock up and EC3 has the advantage with a hip toss and barely sends Adonis over the top rope crashing to the floor below.  Outside the ring, he chops at El Rudo De Las Chicas.  Back in the ring, EC3 presses the attack with a crossbody.  Adonis tries to slow the pace and offers a handshake for the sake of “sportsmanship,” but EC3 is no fool as he catches the boot, and The OverMan chops away because he is Over…Man.

Adonis manages to land a STO and follows with a neckbreaker.  He continues to assault him by raking his back and then sets the champ up on the top turnbuckle, where he brings him down with an avalanche arm drag and a clothesline to the back and that leads to…

We come back and Adonis is firmly in the driver’s seat, trying to put the champ away but only gets a two count. He connects with a Northern Lights suplex but it still gets him a two count.  EC3 fires back and manages a STO/front face DDT move and follows that with a discus clothesline and a Thesz press and puts the finishing touch with a TKO/ backbreaker combo on Adonis.  But El Rudo isn’t finished and he gets the champ in a wristlock and tightrope walks halfway and gives EC3 a blockbuster but can’t capitalize as both men are spent.  EC3 goes for the One Percenter but it gets blocked and Adonis locks EC3 in what can be described as a reverse Cattle Mutilation.  He manages to escape the submission and now delivers the One Percenter and follows with a double underhook facebuster to Adonis that seals the deal.

Your Winner via Pinfall, And Still NWA Heavyweight Champion:  EC3

The Crockett Cup Finals: The Southern Six (Kerry Morton and Alex Taylor, with Ricky Morton) vs. The Immortals (Odinson and Kratos)

Immediately, The Southern Six and The Immortals go in swinging for the fences and no one has an advantage, and more importantly the bell has yet to ring.  The Immortals look to be on top as they toss out Kerry and Taylor to the outside.  After a quick confab with Ricky, now the bell rings, and Kerry starts with Kratos.  As you might have guessed, The Most Feared overpowers the younger Morton, shrugs off his offense, and takes him to the woodshed.  From there, Kratos launches him with his patented release suplex across the ring and back.  Now a tag to Odinson and he nails a twisting Asgardian uppercut to Kerry’s back, and he and Kratos work him over and knock off Taylor from the ring apron to avoid a tag opportunity.  A huge slam later and Kratos covers staring at Ricky, but gets a two count.  He goes for a tackle but Kerry dodges away and he and Taylor gang up on The Most Feared, who is in Peril, and then…

Ads (Ugh!  Again?!)

We come back and Taylor is in the ring dragging Kratos’ face across the ropes.  A tag to Kerry who whips Kratos in the corner, and then lines him up for the Kiss It Goodbye.  He rushes and Kratos comes out with a huge clothesline that lays him out flat.  A hot tag to Odinson and he is an Asgardian en Fuego running roughshod over the The Southern Six.  At one point he gives  Kerry a fireman’s slam onto Taylor who is prone in the center of the ring.  Now the Immortals set Taylor for the Immortality finisher, but Ricky grabs Odinson’s leg.  As he and the ref deal with that distraction, a low blow by Kerry allows Taylor to cover Kratos as the ref counts for one, two…no.  Once again, they gang up on Kratos until Odinson enters and gives the Pounce to Kerry.  Kratos comes back with a clothesline to Taylor, and Odinson follows with a jackhammer to cover but Ricky once again inserts himself into the match and pulls the ref out of the ring.  The ref has had enough of his chicanery and gets ejected from ringside.  Security is there to help escort him away to the back.

Back in the ring, after a knee strike by Kratos and a superplex to Taylor, he launches himself between the ropes into security to the fans’ delight.  He finally grabs Ricky and punches his lights out.  Kerry comes from behind and uses the distraction to slam him to the steel steps.  In the ring. Taylor sprays Odinson with The Purpose canister he carries to the ring.  He witnesses how that has no effect, so Taylor knocks him out with the canister itself. This allows them to connect with the Six Speed finisher, and the ref counts for one, two…kick out.  From there, Odinson fires back and is a one-man Asgardian crew. He gets Taylor on his shoulders for an electric chair and tries to grab Kerry for a German Suplex at the same time.  Kerry escapes and accidentally tackles the ref who gets stunned. In the confusion, Taylor rolls him up and the ref now turns around and slaps his hand to the mat for the one, two, and three.

Your 2024 Crockett Cup Winners:  The Southern Six

Kyle Davis speaks to The Southern Six after the match. Taylor says the Sixes are high tonight, and Kerry follows that by letting the fans know Texas is Southern Six country. Ricky adds the emphasis that this was the first step for The Southern Six to claim more gold in the NWA as the show goes to the credits with Taylor and Kerry holding the Cup aloft their heads.

Final Thoughts:

The King Bees are the team to beat, but credit Tehaka/Nieves for their work as well.  I doubt they’re done yet in the women’s division.  While I wish there was more buildup to the match for the Ten Pounds of Gold, EC3/Adonis was a great championship match and hopefully, we’ll see El Rudo De Las Chicas make a return back to the ring soon.

As for the Crockett Cup final, this feels like the mark of a new chapter for both The Immortals and The Southern Six.  Taylor and Kerry getting the Cup was the right choice and we should see in the future what that bodes for the young men, since the stars are shining in the Southern sky.  Odinson and Kratos also benefit, as they hold a win over Blunt Force Trauma to get to the finals, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they made a run for the NWA Tag Team titles next.

Until then, see ya next Tuesday from The CW!
