While known more recently primarily as the father of Roman Reigns, Wild Samoan Sika, who died on June 25, 2024, was a legend in and of his own. After news of his passing broke, tributes flowed in.

Afa Anoai Jr. on Facebook: “I love you Uncle.”

Leilani Kai on Facebook: Sika and Afa gave me my 21st birthday party. Afa called me a few days ago and told me to call Sika. Today, I am deeply saddened to share the heartbreaking news of the passing of my lifelong friend, Sika Anoa’i. Sika was not just a fellow wrestler; he was family to me, a brother in every sense of the word. His departure leaves a void that can never be filled.

Sika and I shared countless memories throughout our careers in the wrestling world. From the early days when we were both finding our footing, to the heights of our successes, Sika was always a pillar of strength and support. His larger-than-life presence in the ring was matched only by his immense heart and unwavering loyalty outside of it.

The bond we shared was special, forged through years of camaraderie, mutual respect, and countless shared experiences. Sika was a warrior, both in spirit and in his dedication to the sport he loved so much. His passion for wrestling was evident in every match, every promo, and every interaction he had with fans and fellow wrestlers alike.

But beyond his impressive career and undeniable talent, Sika was a kind, compassionate, and loving individual. He was a devoted family man, a proud father, and a mentor to many. His wisdom and guidance helped shape not only the careers of many wrestlers but also their lives. His influence stretched far and wide, touching the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

My heart goes out to Sika’s family during this incredibly difficult time. To his children, especially Roman Reigns and the entire Anoa’i family, please accept my deepest condolences. Your father’s legacy will continue to inspire and impact the wrestling world for generations to come. I know how much he loved you all, and how proud he was of each and every one of you.

As we remember Sika today, I want to celebrate the man behind the persona. He was a friend who stood by me through thick and thin, offering support and encouragement when I needed it most. His laughter, his stories, and his unwavering friendship will forever be cherished in my heart.

Rest in peace, Sika. Thank you for being a part of my life, for the memories we’ve shared, and for the love and kindness you’ve always shown. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew you. Until we meet again, my dear friend.
With all my love and heartfelt condolences to the Anoa’i family,

Leilani Kai
