Justice Department launches own investigation into McMahon case

Janel Grant has agreed to put her case against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis on hold as the US Justice Department launches its own investigation.

Word is the case will be stayed for six months.

“Ms. Grant has consented to a request by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York to stay her case against Mr. McMahon, WWE and Mr. Laurinaitis, pursuant to a pending non-public investigation. We will cooperate with all appropriate next steps,” stated Ann Callis, Janel Grant’s attorney.

Jessica Rosenberg, Vince McMahon’s attorney said today: “We remain confident the evidence will prove Ms. Grant’s allegations are false and her complaint is nothing more than a fabricated, vindictive narrative from a disgruntled former girlfriend.”

Grant has accused McMahon and Laurinaitis of sexually abusing her during her time at the WWE.

McMahon and Laurinaitis have denied any wrongdoing and want the case to go to arbitration instead of a trial.
