Add Mark Henry to the list of talent leaving AEW.
Henry announced on the Busted Open radio show this morning that he has left the promotion.
“My contact is set to expire tomorrow. Today is the 27th, so I wanted to address that matter. Tony Khan said at the press conference he was very happy and proud of what we did together. I feel exactly the same way. I appreciate everything that happened in AEW with Tony Khan and the Khan family. I had a great experience,” said Henry.
Henry explained that it was a mutual decision.
When asked about Henry’s contract during the Double or Nothing media call Tony Khan said: “I really like Mark. We have to look at that internally I think as far as the contract dates but I think Mark’s a great person. I really personally like him. He’s a great media personality as well as being a great wrestler and a great philanthropist. I have a ton of respect for Mark. He’s been great for AEW and I have a lot of respect for him in and out of the ring.”
Henry began working for AEW as an announcer on Rampage and a coach in 2021.
