NJPW has a new IWGP Global Champion. In his first title defence after beating David Finlay for the championship at Wrestle Kingdom Nic Nemeth lost it back to him at night two of NJPW Wrestling Dontaku.
Finlay clocked Nemeth with a rolling elbow to have him seeing stars. As Finlay rushed at Nemeth he got caught with a super kick. Nemeth only scored a two count. Finlay puts the brakes on Nemeth by giving him a buckle bomb and a powerbomb. Finlay gets a two count. Finlay hits another powerbomb and Overkill for the pin and the win.
Jon Moxley defeated an over-reaching Ren Narita in their IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match. Late in the match the lights in the arena went out. When they came back on Evil and Dick Togo were in the ring. They beat Moxley down and gave him a Magic Killer. Togo returned to the ring to choke out Moxley with his garotte. Evil then beat Moxley with a steel chair. Shota Umino arrived to fight off the heels. Moxley then pinned Narita with Death Rider.
NJPW Wrestling Dontaku Night Two Results
TMDK (Mikey Nicholls and Shane Haste) versus Tiger Mask and Shoma Kato
Kato is pinned via the power bomb, Rock Bottom.

Akira escapes the Douki Chokie to pin Doukie with a roll-up.

Sabre Jr. pins Newman with the Zack Driver.

Umino pins Yujiro with the Death Rider.

Hiroshi Tanahashi and Oleg Boltin versus Just 5 Guys (Taichi and Taka Michinoku)
Taka is pinned by The Ace’s High Fly Flow. After the match Boltin and Taichi get into a shoving match. Boltin gives Taichi a forearm to the face. Taichi kicks him in the gut. Taichi and The Ace have a staredown in the middle of the ring.

Los Ingobernables de Japon (Bushi, Hiromu Takahashi, Tetsuya Naito and Yota Tsuji) versus Bullet Club (Clark Connors, Taiji Ishimori, Drilla Moloney and Gedo)
Naito pins Drilla with Destino. Tsuji yanks on Gedo’s beard on the floor. Gedo is rolled back into the ring where Naito does the same thing to Gedo. Naito then holds Gedo’s beard so that Tsuji can give it a big chop with his hand.

Bishamon (Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI) (c) versus Bullet Club (Chase Owens and KENTA) – IWGP Tag Team Championship Match
Owens takes a GTW but kicks out stunning everyone. Owens kicks his way out of the Shoto. As Kenta has the official tied up Owens punches Goto in the “lower abdomen”. Kenta drills Goto with the Busaiku Knee. Owens pins Goto with a jackknife cover. Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls hit the ring as do El Phantasmo and Hikuleo to argue who is challenging who next.
Winners:…and new IWGP Tag Team Champions…Chase Owens and Kenta.
Shingo Takagi (c) versus Gabe Kidd – NEVER Openweight Championship Match
It is like a car crash involving two Mac Trucks. A great match between two hard-hitting tanks. Shingo and Gabe get into a chair duel on the floor. Gabe wins that by hitting Shingo in the stomach and over the head. Gabe gives Shingo a brainbuster in the middle of the ring. Shingo looks legitimately stunned by it so Gabe goes outside the ring and pesters El Desperado who is on commentary. Gabe kicks out of massive powerbomb. Gabe spits in Shingo’s face and gives him the finger. Shingo pins him with Last of the Dragon.
Winner: …and still NEVER Openweight Champion, Shingo Takagi.
