The Cauliflower Alley Club announced that Allison Danger, real name Cathy Corino, will receive the 2024 Women’s Wrestling Award.
Danger’s 12-year career took her on an international wrestling journey. She co-founded the promotion SHiMMER, an all-women wrestling competition.
She was first introduced to wrestling through her brother, Steve. Her first experience in the industry was as a substitute for The Sandman’s Valet in ECW.
Danger started her wrestling journey under the mentorship of Mike Kehner and Rapid Fire Maldonado. She competed in various places, such as Women’s Xtreme Wrestling, Jersey All-Pro Wrestling, and Ring of Honor, and even participated in tours in Japan and Europe.
Later in her career, she received a call from Dave Prazak about expanding the IWA ‘Volcano Girls’ event; that’s when SHiMMER was introduced. The platform provided a boost in careers for many female wrestlers, such as Becky Lynch, Jordynne Grace and Bayley, to name a few. During her time with SHiMMER, she spent time as a coach, mentor, agent and in-ring talent, even going on to beat WWE Hall of Famer Beth Pheonix is the first event.
Danger retired as a wrestler in 2013 and spent some time as a trainer. She was a performance coach for WWE’s NXT but was later cut due to a restructured budget.
Allison Danger will be receiving her award at this year’s Cauliflower Alley Club reunion taking place at the Plaza Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on Aug. 19 to Aug. 21.
