Dynamite: Sting bids farewell as only Sting can

We have such a jam packed show, lets het straigh to the action on Sting’s final Dynamite and the go-home before AEW Revolution this Sunday!


Adam Page gives an Update


Page comes to the ring, and he is on a crutch. He says the outlook isn’t good. Page talks about the start of AEW and says it was an opportunity for him. He reflects on being the man and winning the World Title. Hangman says that at AEW Revolution, he will not be able t fight. This brings out Swerve Strickland. Strickland talks about his history with Page. Swerve admits that he did not expect this to happen and also admits he respects what Page has done for AEW. Strickland says you can’t stop destiny, and his destiny is to win the AEW world title. AEW World Champion Samoa Joe comes out and says he’s the real man. Joe says those two are hungry but he is the one that is starving them. Joe says he can whoop both of their asses. Strickland vows to win the gold, but Page attacks him with a crutch. Strickland is checked on….


The Young Bucks arrive and are greeted by Renee Paquette. They’re asked about their meeting with Ric Flair, and Nicholas says it went great. Matthew says they want to thank Sting…mind you they have bats in their hands ready for an attack.


Blackpool Combat (Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli) VS FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) & Eddie Kingston


Harwood is all over BCC but Castagnoli drops Dax while Danielson is on the ref with a distraction. The two teams again brawl at ringside. Danielson kicks Kingston. Back in the ring, Harwood and Castagnoli go at it again. Moxley takes Harwood down, and he is kept away from his partner. Harwood is able to fight back and tags Kingston, who goes straight for Danielson. Kingston with a  Suplex, but eats a clothesline from Moxley. Castagnoli and Danielson double-team Kingston. Moxley spikes Kingston with a piledriver. The match is insane as everyone fights and everyone is able to land their finishers. Danielson hits the running knee on Kingston and locks in a triangle choke to get the win.

Winners: Blackpool Combat (Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli)

After the bell, Danielson says he will choke Kingston out.


A video package highlights Chris Jericho’s past in CMLL. Jericho is interviewed and he says he has fond memories of CMLL, He says Atlantis was a mentor to him so having a match with Atlantis Jr. is a great way to live his dream and repay the favor for all SR did. Jericho says that tonight he will be the teacher…


Will Ospreay makes his presence known


Tony Schiavone introduces Will Ospreay on his first night out! Ospreay says he is done with NJPW.  He pokes fun of his tracksuit and says he is there full-time. Ospreay brings up his history with AEW including beating Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho. He says he is ready to pick up where he left off. Don Callis, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Konosuke Takeshita come to the ring. Callis and Hobbs hug Ospreay, but Takeshita ignores him. Callis says Ospreay will have the Match of the Decade against Takeshita and even though teammates can go hard,  he wants to see who will win. Ospreay offers a handshake, and Takeshita accepts it. Takeshita doesn’t let go, and Ospreay gets in his face as both men talk trash to set the stage for Sunday.


Backstage, Eddie Kingston is about to talk about his match against Bryan Danielson, but The Young Bucks interrupt, and Nicholas says he has a bone to pick with Kingston. He threatens to fine him. Matthew tells him to work on the “presentation” and teases implementing a dress code.


AEW International Championship: Orange Cassidy (c) VS Nick Wayne (with Christian Cage, Mother Wayne, and Killswitch)


Wayne with a hurricanrana that sends Cassidy outside. Wayne with a dive on Cassidy. Back in the ring, after some ore back and forth, Cassidy takes a break outside, but Wayne dives onto him again. Christian Cage trips up Cassidy and  Wayne kicks Cassidy to the outside. The Patriarchy gets ejected. Cassidy comes back with a flurry of moves and ends it with a DDT on Wayne. Wayne comes right back and hits a Fisherman Suplex for a 2-count. Cassidy is in firm control and goes for the Orange Punch, but Wayne counters, but Cassidy hits the Beach Break. Matt Taven and Mike Bennett come out and distract Cassidy. Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta fight them off. Daniel Garcia distracts Wayne, and Cassidy hits the Orange Punch for the win.

After the match, Roderick Strong attacks Cassidy, but Best Friends make the save.


Backstage, the Bang Bang Scissor Gang is asked about how they are getting along and there was a strong awkwardness amongst all of them.  Austin Gunn says he has an idea to team up with The Acclaimed. Jay White like the idea.


Kris Statlander (with Stokely Hathaway and Willow Nightingale) VS Skye Blue (with Julia Hart)


Statlander is in control, but Blue briefly takes control and sends Statlander to the outside. Statlander presses her over her head and dumps her into the crowd. Back in the ring, Blue gains the upper hand and controls the action. Statlander rallies and gets a two-count with a powerslam. Statlander and Blue trade blows. Statlander with a Suplex of Blue onto the apron. Willow gets in Hart’s face at ringside. Blue hits a Canadian Destroyer and gets a 2-count. Hathaway offers Statlander some chains, and she doesn’t take them. He distracts the referee by accident, and Hart hits Statlander with the title and Blue hits the Code Blue for the win.

Winner: Skye Blue


The Young Bucks are backstage, and they find Sting’s locker room. They enter the room and find a bunch of baseball bats hanging upside down.


“Lionheart” Chris Jericho VS Atlantis Jr. (with Atlantis)


Jericho and Atlantis Jr. go at it and Atlantis Jr. with a Monkey Flip. Jericho takes him down and goes for the Walls of Jericho, but Atlantis Jr. with a rope break. Jericho goes after the mask, but Atlantis fights him off and chokes him with a towel. Atlantis Jr. dives onto Jericho and from ringside, catapults Jericho into the ring post. Soon after that, Jericho with a Powerbomb and ends up sending Atlantis Jr. into the steel steps. Back in the ring, Atlantis Jr. rallies and gets an arm drag from the middle rope. Atlantis JR. hits a Wheelbarrow German Suplex. Jericho grabs Atlantis by the head and slams him off the top rope. At ringside, Jericho with a Hurricanrana then back in the ring he locks in the Walls of Jericho, and Atlantis throws in the towel.

Winner: Chris Jericho

Jericho and Atlantis Sr. check on Atlantis Jr., and they celebrate together.


Sting’s Final Dynamite Appearance


The Young Bucks come out and confront some fans wearing Sting masks. One fan ends up being Darby Allin and he attacks the Young Bucks. The Young Bucks attack Allin with bats and hit the EVP Trigger. Ric Flair comes out and takes a bat to attack the Young Bucks.  Nicholas hits Flair below the bel and they beat on him until Sting’s music plays. The Bucks walk up the ramp. Sting comes down from the rafters and hits the Bucks with a bat. Allin with a Coffin Drop while Sting with a Scorpion Death Drop on Nicholas. Sting, Allin, and Flair celebrate to end the show.
