Dynamite: The Year Kicks off with some dancing, messages, and a debut

Greetings and salutations! Its the first Dynamite of the year and we will see Orange Cassidy defending the International Title. Also on the show we have Adam Cole addressing his actions over the last few months. After weeks of anticipation Mariah May will make her in-ring debut and lastly, TNT Champion Christian Cage will give his state of the union. With all this happening, let’s get to the action!

Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Mike Bennett, Matt Taven, and Wardlow come to the ring. Cole says it’s ironic that people were shocked by what happened at AEW Worlds End. Cole says that MJF has more enemies than anyone. Cole calls MJF a narcissist and then says that it is time for a change. Cole says the locker room and fans will learn to thank him because MJF is gone, and he’s never coming back.

Cole says he betrayed MJF before MJF could betray hm. Cole then claims that MJF needed him. He reminds us that the fans would not be cheering MJF if not for him. Cole says this all became about destroying a man, and he says MJF is dead and that e doesn’t even work there anymore Cole then names the new group the Undisputed Kingdom. Cole says that Wardlow will eventually hand the AEW World Championship over to him.

White is out and says he didn’t like the way Cole made him collateral damage. White and The Gunns charge the ring and brawl with the Undisputed Kingdom. The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn run, sending The newly formed Undisputed Kingdom running.


Daniel Garcia says that he will not buckle under pressure tonight at his match against Swerve Strickland


AEW International Championship: Orange Cassidy (c) VS Dante Martin


Both men are well matched and they trade moves until Cassidy heads to the outside to regroup. Martin goes for a dive but ends up crashing face-first into the barricade. Cassidy hits him with a dropkick and after a brief comeback from Martin, Cassidy hits a Suplex. The match is even again and then Cassidy hits the Stun-dog Millionaire for a nearfall. Martin comes back and dives onto Cassidy at ringside, then hits a Crossbody for a 2-count. Martin with some “kicks” and that angered Cassidy who rocked Martin with a kick of his own. Cassidy  with a DDT for a 2-count, followed by a diving DDT. Martin with a dive after dodging The Orange Punch and Beach Break. Cassidy gets a 2-count after landing a Crucifix. Martin up top and jumps off, but Cassidy dodges a senton and gets the win with the Orange Punch.

Winner: and still AEW International Champion, Orange Cassidy

After the match, HOOK and Danhausen come out to celebrate and Private Party make their return, as Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen come out. They say they’re putting the tag team division on notice.


Backstage, AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm says she thought they were in New York and was disappointed to learn they were actually in New Jersey. She was asked about May’s debut and Storm says she doesn’t watch wrestling, and then orders Luther to carry her away.

The House of Black sent a message to FTR

Prince Nana hypes up Swerve Strickland and says they are looking towards 2024 and says he wants to win the world title in 2024 putting Joe on notice.


Mariah May VS Queen Aminata


May  takes Aminata down with a headscissors and a Dropkick. May keeps Aminata grounded. Aminata rallies with some strikes and forearms, but May hits a Slingblade followed by a Mayday for the win.

After the match, Renee Paquette enters the ring for an interview. May  says she wanted to be a wrestler since she was a kid and then says she hopes Toni Storm watched that and is proud of her. May says the first Dynamite of the year was all about her. Deonna Purrazzo IS OUT! Purrazzo says that she is from New Jersey (huge pop). Purrazzo says she will find Toni Storm and announces that she is All Elite, and this is the Age of the Virtuosa. Purrazzo with a kick knocking May down.

Christian Cage’s State Of The Union


TNT Champion Christian Cage is out with Nick Wayne, Killswitch, and Shayna Wayne. Shayna hypes up Christian Cage and then Cage takes the mic and says he went through a war at AEW Worlds End, and he thanks “Mother Wayne”, his “pride and joy” Nick Wayne and, he thanks himself who made the entire win possible (leaving Killswitch off the list)

Cage says that he has beaten Copeland twice now so he won’t get another title shot. Cage says that he is superior to Copeland. He then issues a warning to anyone wanting his title; he says that AEW Worlds End was just a small sample of what he will do to retain the TNT championship.


Backstage, Ruby Soho appreciated Harley Cameron’s help on Rampage and Cameron says she is happy to be an Outcast


Konosuke Takeshita VS Darby Allin

Takeshita and Allin flips out of a suplex, but Takeshita hits a Back-Body Drop. Takeshita is at ringside and Allin goes for a dive, but Takeshita knocks him with a knee strike. Takeshita hits Allin with a series of Rolling German Suplexes down the ramp. Takeshita grounds Allin, but Allin comes back and hits a Falling Stunner off the ropes. Allin with a dives onto Takeshita at ringside. Takeshita with a neafall after a hard slam on the mat. Allin dodges a Running Strike from then gets  Takeshita down and hits a Coffin Drop onto Takeshita, all at ringside.

Allin with a Code Red for a nearfall. Allin up top and goes for a CoffinDrop, but Takeshita blocks it and immediately hits a German Suplex. Allin eats a full Lariat, followed by a kick. Takeshita maintains control and hits an avalanche German Suplex, followed by a Knee Strike for the win.

Winner: Konosuke Takeshita

Backstage, Don Callis issues a challenge for next week. Callis wants Darby Allin and Sting to face Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs….


Winner Earns AEW Continental Title Shot: Trent Beretta VS Brian Cage VS Bryan Keith VS El Hijo del Vikingo


Vikingo kicks Cage and dives onto him, meanwhile Keith and Beretta trade punches. Keith with a big boot on Beretta. Vikingo with some kicks of his own on Keith. Cage slams Vikingo. Beretta with a Knee Strike on Cage sending him to ringside. Trent dives onto Cage at ringside and stares at Danhausen who is in the front row.

Back in the ring, Cage slams Beretta and Keith. Beretta kicks Cage. Cage uses his strength and takes over Beretta and have a brief confrontation until Vikingo kicks Cage and takes him down with a springboard dropkick. Keith with a Headbutt on Vikingo. Beretta with a German Suplex off the second rope on Cage, followed by a Knee Strike. Cage hits the F10 on Keith, then slams Beretta with a Powerbomb for a 2-count. Danhausen enters the ring and curses Cage, who goes to attack him, but Keith and Vikingo kick him. Vikingo dives onto Cage at ringside. In the ring, Keith hits Beretta with a Headbutt for a 2-count, but Beretta comes back and slams Keith down for the win!

Winner: Trent Beretta


Hangman Page returns and says he is here to beat someone’s ass.


Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana) VS Daniel Garcia


Garcia takes control but Nana gets in his face and does the Nanan Dance only to have Garcia dance back. The match continues and Nana distracts Garcia again, and this time Strickland kicks him. Swerve with a Death Valley Driver onto the apron, followed by pushing Garcia right into the barricade and apron. Strickland with a Diving Elbow then dances like Garcia.

Strickland hits Garcia with a series of Uppercuts. Garcia comes back and hits a Knee on Strickland. Garcia hits a Dropkick, followed by a Suplex. Strickland comes back and after some offense, he pushes Matt Menard at the broadcast table. Garcia is out there and both men battle on the table but end up falling off. Strickland Suplexes Garcia, but Garcia follows this up with a hard strike to the face. Strickland comes back with a Flatliner, followed by the House Call. Garcia with a quick recovery and a roll up for a 2-count. Strickland with another House Call for the win.

Winner: Swerve Strickland

Garcia and Strickland are about to shake hands but Prince Nana is in and hits Garcia down low. Matt Menard tries to make the save, but Strickland takes him out. Hangman Page makes his return and attacks Strickland to end the show…
