Collision: les samedis soirs sont les soirs que j’aime

Greetings and Salutations as we end the week off on Saturday Night with Collision from Montreal. This show was taped Tuesday and will feature Kenny Omega from Winnipeg taking on Ethan Page from Hamilton. We will also see Continental Classic matches as we will see two Blue League matches. First, Eddie Kingston will face Claudio Castagnoli. We will also see Bryan Danielson taking on Andrade El Idolo. We will also see the hometown heroes Daddy Magic and Angelo Parker take on Komander and Penta El Zero Miedo. With all of this action, let’s get to the show results.


This week’s episode of AEW Collision kicked off with promos from Ethan Page, Kenny Omega, Bryan Danielson, Andrade El Idolo, Claudio Castagnoli, and Eddie Kingston to hype tonight’s matches.


Continental Classic Blue League Match: Eddie Kingston VS Claudio Castagnoli


Kingston is in desperate need of points in this match as he is on the brink of beling eliminated. The match starts off with both Kingston and Castagnoli hitting big moves. Kingston hits the Neutralizer for a 2-count as Castagnoli finds a Swing and follows that up by locking in a Sharpshooter.

Claudio with a Missile Dropkick that sends Eddie to the corner. After a huge Lariat, Castagnoli hits a huge Superplex for another 2-count. Kingston is coming back and hits some chops on Castagoli along with a couple Exploder Suplexes for a 2-count of his own. Kingston with a Lariat of his own for a 2-count. Castagnoli with a Powerbomb and a brutal running uppercut. Moments later, both men attempt their signature finishers and they trade punches in the middle of the ring. Kingston connects with two spinning Backfists but it wasn’t good enough for the win. Eddie hits one more spinning backfist. He goes for a follow-up powerbomb, but Castagnoli reverses it and tries to get a sneaky pin, but Kingston rolls through and pins Castagnoli for the huge win!

Winner: Eddie Kingston


Jon Moxley is in the back and he cuts a promo on Swerve Strickland as both men are set to clash in the Continental Classic next week on Dynamite. Moxley says Swerve is in way over his head and it will be a long night for him.

HOOK is backstage with Renee Paquette. Wheeler Yuta interrupts right away and challenges HOOK to a match. HOOK says yes and says it will be FTW rules.


Willow Nightingale VS Mercedes Martinez


The match gets started away with some great action as Willow hits a Senton Splash on Martinez who ends up rolling out of the ring to catch her breath. Willow is distracted by Diamante who is at ringside. This allows Martinez to take control and rams Willow into the barricade. Martinez with a Draping DDT off the announce table. Back in the ring, Willow faceplants Mercedes to the mat and hits the running Cannonball in the corner. Diamante gets involved again, but this time, Willow knocks her off the apron but Martinez hits Willow with a Fisherman’s Driver and gets a 2-count. Martinez with two backdrop drivers and then hits a modified Razor’s Edge but Willow surprises everyone and catches Martinez in a roll up for the win!

Winner: Willow Nightingale

After the match, Diamante and Mercedes Martinez attack Willow. Diamante goes outside and throws a ladder into the ring along with a pipe. Kris Statlander makes the save with a chain in hand to get the heels to run away.


Daddy Magic and Angelo Parker cut a promo. As they are in Montreal, they are hometown heroes. Jake Hager interrupts and says he won’t be with them for the match because he’s busy getting the authorities to do something about Danhausen taking his hat. Ruby Soho shows up and gets close to Parker. Daddy Magic and Saraya try to separate them. Once everyone leaves, Saraya questions Ruby’s allegiance and says she needs to prove to her next week that she isn’t a traitor like Toni Storm.

Swerve Strickland cuts a promo back on Moxley. Swerve says this tournament is just the first step on his path towards becoming the AEW world champion.


Wardlow VS Willie Mack


Wardlow with a dropkick early on but Mack comes back and hits a dive from the top but it didn’t phase Wardlow much. Mack with a Standing Moonsault for a 1-cout. Mack tries to jump from the top but Wardlow catches him mid-air for a powerbomb. Wardlow with another powerbomb and then a clothesline. Wardlow with one more Powerbomb and ends the match via referee stoppage.

Winner: Wardlow


House of Black cut a promo calling out FTR

Kenny Omega VS Ethan Page


Omega gets started early and atmepted to dive over the ropes, but Page runs in through the ropes and hits a huge Cutter. Omega comes right back and hits Page with a Moonsault off the guardrail. Back in the ring, Omega is looking for a Suplex but he’s too close to the ropes. This sends both men over the ropes together. Back in the ring, Omega counters a Cutter attempt and hits a V-Trigger for a 2-count. Omega with a Moonsault and misses, but ends up hitting Page with a Snap Dragon Suplex. Page gets back in the match and hits an Avalanche Bodyslam for a 2-count. Both men go for a miss their finishers and end up trading pin attempts and roll-ups. Omega with a V-Trigger and puts him away with the One-Winged Angel.

Winner: Kenny Omega

Omega raises Ethan’s arm in the air after the match is over. As Kenny walks back up the ramp, he is attacked by Big Bill with a Big Boot. Bill holds up the AEW world tag team title and mocks Omega. Page slowly exits the ring and checks on Omega.


CJ Perry is with Lexy Nair and she hypes Andrade El Idolo. Miro interrupts and wonders when’s the last time she said so many nice things about him. Miro tells Perry that he wants her back home cooking and cleaning while he makes all the money. She calls him delusional and Miro says once the Continental Classic is finished, so is Andrade.

Penta El Zero Miedo & Komander VS Daddy Magic & Angelo Parker


The crowd loves them the hometown boys! Komander dominates Parker before Penta gets in there to catapult his partner into both opponents sitting in the corner. Magic and Parker counter Penta and Komander’s stereo dives through the ropes, and end up sending them to the barricade. The real story of the match is the crowd who loves them Parker and Magic. As the match goes on, Magic locks Penta in the Montreal Crab but this is broken up. Komander and Penta get full control of the match and hit a Tightrope walk fear factor tandem for the win.

Winners: Penta El Zero Miedo & Komander

Continental Classic tournament: Andrade El Idolo VS Bryan Danielson


Through the match, Andrade targets Bryan’s orbital bone. Danielson is having trouble with his vision through the match. Danielson dives through the ropes crashing into Andrade on the outside. Bryan’s eye patch was ripped off by Andrade and now Bryan is bleeding from his scar. Andrade smashes Bryan with a Forearm right in that injured. Bryan continues to bleed. Andrade jams his finger right into Bryan’s eye socket. Bryan somewhat recovers and hits Andrade with a Shotgun Dropkick from the top, but Andrade comes right back and hits the three Amigo Suplexes on Bryan.

Bryan drops Andrade as he is seated in the top rope and does an avalanche Belly-to-Back Suplex. Bryan then locks in the LeBell Lock, but Andrade reaches the ropes for the break. With both men up and the action going back and forth, Andrade hits the Spinning Back Elbow on Bryan for a 2-count. We only have 3 minutes left in the match. Bryan’s injured eye is affecting him. Bryan is slow to get up and makes a run for Andrade, but Andrade hits another back elbow. Andrade grabs the eye socket and smashes him with rapid fire forearms. Andrade with the Hammerlock DDT as the commentators are begging for this match to end and it is as Andrade scores the pinfall victory.

Winner: Andrade El Idolo

After the match, Andrade, AEW doctors and medical staff check on Bryan. Blackpool Combat Club run down to the ring and push Andrade away from Bryan. Andrade says he will be winning the triple crown, with medical staff still checking on Bryan as Collision goes off the air.
