There is no one quite like Thrillbilly Silas Mason, and none that can match the power of the Southern Six member. The only one who could is Devan Dixon, and he has a shot at the NWA National title on this NWA POWERRR.
Joe Galli narrates how things led to this point:
And we kick off the show coming to you from the Skyway Studios in Nashville, TN. Joe Galli and Danny Dealz have the call, and your First Match of the night is…
The Country Gentlemen (AJ and KC Cazana, with Joe Cazana) vs. The Slimeballz (Tommy Rant and Sage Chantz)
This is the tag team debut of Exodus Pro’s Slimeballz on POWERRR. On a scale of one to Public Enemy, they have a good look. Let’s see how they do against the Cazana boys.
KC gets the offense going to Sage with a nice double jump crossbody to stymie Chantz and he brings in Rant. AJ tags in and big brother Cazana gives Rant a series of slams. Back to KC and this Country Gentleman is clearly in control until Chantz distracts him from the back and Rant unloads a clothesline on the big man. The Slimeballz stays on KC, who is a Gentleman in Peril. They go for a double atomic drop and KC reverses to a double clothesline. He crawls to his corner and gets the hot tag to AJ. He is a Gentleman en Fuego and launches Chantz with a military press to the corner and both men get a corner splash. AJ covers Chantz and Rant kicks him to break the ref count. Chantz comes from behind a sleeper and AJ gives a sidewalk slam. The Country Gentlemen seal their fate by giving Chantz an assisted flying double clothesline to send them back to SlimeBall City.
Your Winners via Pinfall: AJ and KC Cazana
At The Podium with Kyle Davis Samantha Starr…excuse me, “Miss Starr.” She tells Davis and everyone she is a third-generation wrestler on both sides of her family and that is what makes her a Starr. She also introduces her new “assistant” to help with menial tasks. Out comes Chelsea, and Miss Starr explains she needs to learn her place. But to be fair, Miss Starr wants to do something nice, and that’s why she will be in a championship match …against Max The Impaler, which is happening now.
So your next sacrifice…err, next match is for the…
NWA Women’s Television Championship: Max the Impaler(c)(with Father James Mitchell) vs. Chelsea
Chelsea steps into the ring as “Run A-Way” chants echo in the Studios. This is being (and I use the term loosely) contested under the Television rules with a 6:05 time limit. Chelsea circles around Max, who finally grabs her throat, and fans chant “Max is gonna kill you.” Chelsea is showing terror as Max sniffs her a bit. Then the beatings commence as Max rains forearms on Chelsea in the corner and she is getting hammered and crumpled in a heap. Max is toying with her as she whips Miss Starr’s assistant hard in the corner. Max attempts a tackle but Chelsea quickly crawls away. She tries her backflip splash, but Max swats her away with a forearm to her back. The look on Chelsea’s face says it all as Max picks her up by the hair and delivers a lariat and that mercifully spells the end of the match.
Your Winner, and Still NWA Women’s World Television Champion: Max The Impaler
And for the conclusion of the “drama” that began with wanting to see Who Wants to be a Spectacular, which leads to the next match of the night…
The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum) vs. The Spectaculars 2.0 (Rush Freeman and Slade, with Rolando Freeman)
There’s no bow tie on Slade, but he has a no-nonsense attitude. So, chalk that up to it being a plus, because if they lose, The Spectaculars are out. (Also, will someone page Josh Alexander that Slade is using his headgear?)
Meanwhile, back in the squared circle, Rush and Magnum lock up and they go back and forth. Then there’s the tag to Slade and Floyd, and the new Spectacular goes to town. Rush is back in he and Slade display some tag chemistry. Rush starts the Spectacular leg slap, and Slade heads back to his corner. An elbow drop by Rush finds the mark but it isn’t long before The Outrunners start to isolate him in the corner, and he is less than Spectacular and In Peril. Rush fights back and pushes off Magnum and gets the hot tag to Slade. The Outrunners soon Fear the Gear as Slade is En Fuego and gives a DDT to Magnum but Floyd breaks the count. Rush throws him out, and Slade adds the punctuation mark with a Kryptonite Krunch for the pin and the win
Your Winners via Pinfall: Rush Freeman and Slade
The Spectaculars fight on another day. We’ll see how long that lasts.

May Valentine is backstage with Colby Corino and the NWA Women’s Tag Team Champions, Pretty Empowered. Ella Envy and Kenzie Paige laugh at how Taylor Rising thought they could beat them at the Samhain PPV, and the proof is in the Pretty. Valentine turns to Corino, and he will face Joe Ocasio for his twentieth title defense at Robards, and he looks forward to remaining the NWA Junior Heavyweight champion. Valentine then asks him if he’s watched any of the women’s matches. Corino says he hasn’t had a reason to watch, not since Kamille lost her title.
(Author’s Note: Ever wondered what it’s like to say the wrong thing to women? This picture should say everything.)
But let’s go back to the ring for triple threat action between…
Rey Fury vs. Joe Alonzo vs. Luke Kurtis
Kurtis has recently been in OVW and Rey Fury exudes some Konnan vibes. Might be the mask.
In any case, it’s fast action from the get-go and Fury stands tall over both men. Alonzo and Kurtis plot outside the ring, and when they agree to double team, Kurtis is alone as Alonzo stays outside. Fury takes out Kurtis with ease and Alonzo mops up right afterward. A standing dropkick by Alonzo sends Fury down. Kurtis tries to steal the cover but Alonzo pulls him off. As they argue, Fury leaps from up top and gets punched in the gut on the way down. They stomp the masked man in the corner, and then he receives a powerslam Kurtis and Alonzo try to steal the win this time, but nothing doing. They both give more double teamwork on Fury and as Alonzo flexes, Kurtis is thrown to his elbow and Fury hits a neckbreaker on Alonzo. He goes up top and the masked man lands with the froggy ‘bow on Kurtis for a close two count as Alonzo punches Fury in the back of the head. There’s a series of near falls by all three men, but finally, Alonzo seals it with his forward Russian legsweep to claim victory.
Your Winner via Pinfall: Joe Alonzo
Valentine is now with Daisy Kill and Talos and she inquires about their NWA US tag team title loss, but Kill has a song instead for Valentine:
You know you got a good look
And you wrote a book.
We want to know, Mama, how can you cook?
Because now you’re in Talos’s world.
We want to find out if you’ll be Daisy’s girl.
And The Immortals? They’re gonna find out who daddy is as well.
I mean, I dunno if it’ll break the Billboard charts, but…not bad.
Now for the Main Event and it’s for the…
NWA National Championships: “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason (c) vs. Devan Dixon
Both men give a handshake to show respect and sportsmanship, especially after all the years they’ve traveled up and down the road. Once the bell rings, they go to work, and Mason tackles him and gives a slam to Dixon. Dixon offers his hand again, and Mason takes it…then he knocks him down hard and pounds away at his former friend. Dixon fires back but Mason stops the momentum with a knee to his midsection. The beatings continue on the outside Mason clubs at his chest and chops away Dixon. Dixon gets back in the ring and Mason holds his hair and yanks it back him back across the ropes and that snaps his back. The National champ gets back in the ring and Mason brings the fire with a suplex across the ring and rushes into the corner but Dixon moves away in time. He fires back with punches and then goes up top to land a crossbody for one, two…so close. Mason stops screwing around and has Dixon caught in The Thrillride and covers for one, two, and three.
Your Winner via Pinfall, and Still NWA National Champion: “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason
Once the match ends, Alex Taylor and Kerry Morton come out and stomp him, Southern Six style. Taylor and Morton then go for a spike piledriver, but Dane and EC3 make the save and run the trio off. They stare at The Southern Six, as they walk to the back talking trash.
Dane and EC3 are left and he tells The OverMan to look at him. EC3 locks eyes, and Dane offers his hand and they shake it in a sign of respect. EC3 holds Sweet Charlotte aloft as the show goes to the credits.
NWA Powerrr - 12/5/2023
Final Thoughts:
A very solid show, and Dixon proved he can hang with Mason. Hopefully, this is not the last we see of him in the NWA. Fury, Kurtis, and Slade were all impressive debuts as well.
As for Chelsea, I am trying to get confirmation of her health after facing Max. Maybe Miss Starr will let her relax.
We’ll find out next time, so see ya in seven!
