Raw: McIntyre shows his inner Scottish Psychopath

Live from Albany, New York, it is Monday Night Raw and we are kicking off with the Scottish Psychopath, Drew McIntyre.

He quickly threw a shot at CM Punk, saying if you leave the company do whatever you want and return, you will be instantly forgiven. Then he spoke about Seth Rollins not choosing him to face in his title match tonight before mocking Jey Uso for apologizing to Randy Orton last week. He lastly wanted to bring up Sami Zayn, his opponent tonight, but Zayn interrupted him and made his way out.

McIntyre said he cannot believe Zayn thinks they are similar, Zayn was the only person that deserved to get screwed by The Bloodline. Zayn thought they were alike, but the more he listens to Drew and how delusional he is, he realizes they are nothing alike. McIntyre let his loss to Roman Reigns ruin him, but when he lost he stayed hungry and got his revenge in the main event of WrestleMania. Zayn believes he made his family proud and he asked Drew how his family is feeling. McIntyre said Zayn will not walk out of the ring tonight and demanded a referee.

Sami Zayn vs. Drew McIntyre

McIntyre was right after Zayn and he wanted to beat him down to nothing, but Zayn’s quickness was working for him as he launched McIntyre into the ring post. Zayn then flew to the outside with a tope and followed that with a moonsault off the barricade. Unfortunately for Zayn, he was then caught with a clothesline from McIntyre and the strikes and chops began raining down.

To begin a comeback, Zayn delivered a diving elbow, a suplex and a tilt-a-whirl DDT, but McIntyre then caught him with two belly-to-belly suplexes. McIntyre now caught Zayn in mid-air on the outside and then launched him onto the announce table and he crashed to the floor behind it. That was followed with a spine buster and sit-out powerbomb, but McIntyre then tried to go for an avalanche White Noise and Zayn turned it into a sunset flip. Zayn then gave McIntyre a big boot and a Blue Thunder Bomb, but Zayn tweaked his ankle early in the match and that began to work against him.

He was struggling to put weight on his left leg and McIntyre smelt blood, he instantly attacked the injured leg before hitting Zayn with a Claymore for the win.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

Following a commercial, Zayn was being looked at backstage by a doctor when McIntyre attacked him again! He beat him to the ground while screaming, “You think you can talk about my family? You brought this on yourself!” Drew then took one final stomp onto Zayn’s injured leg on the concrete.

Becky Lynch was given some time to talk backstage when she was interrupted by Nia Jax. Lynch has been looking for fights and Jax said that once she is done with Shayna Baszler, she wants Lynch next.

Nia Jax vs. Shayna Baszler

Baszler looked to use her MMA experience early on to attack Jax’s arm, but Jax dropped her with a powerbomb. They then took the fight outside the ring where Baszler was able to push Jax into the ring post, she then tried to attack the arm again. However, Jax swept her legs out on the apron and then delivered a leg drop onto the back of Baszler’s head.

Jax followed that with a uranage and a side slam before crushing Baszler’s head into the post and hitting a Samoan drop. However, Baszler then began to battle back, she tripped Jax into the turnbuckle and then delivered several knees and kicks. Even with those kicks, Jax popped back up to run through Baszler and drop on her with a senton. Jax now went for the Annihilator, but Baszler German suplexed Jax from the second rope and locked in the Kirifuda Clutch. The hold was broken when Jax dropped all her weight onto Baszler and she followed that with the Annihilator to get the victory.

Winner: Nia Jax

Following the match, Becky Lynch made her way out, but Jax wanted nothing to do with her and retreated from the ring.

2 Out of 3 Falls Match: #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) vs. Imperium (Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci)

Ciampa and Kaiser got us started here and it was Imperium taking the early advantage, Vinci charged through Ciampa with a running crossbody. They remained on the attack until Ciampa caught Kaiser with a kick and tagged in Gargano who quickly went to work. He dropped Kaiser with a tilt-a-whirl DDT, kicked Vinci on the floor and delivered a slingshot spear to Kaiser. #DIY now went for a Meeting in the Middle, but Vinci pulled Gargano to the floor and Kaiser rolled Ciampa up with a handful of tights to steal the first fall.

Imperium remained on the attack, Kaiser dropped Gargano with a facebuster and Imperium then hit a double dropkick. They then went for their finisher, but this time it was Ciampa pulling Kaiser to the floor and Gargano rolling Vinci up to steal a fall. It is now sudden death, next fall wins and Ciampa drops both members of Imperium with an STO and reverse DDT combo. Gargano then bounced off the ropes only to be caught with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker from Vinci. Kaiser now hit a rolling Death Valley driver and Vinci followed that with a springboard moonsault.

All four men now began trading shots and that ended with Gargano planting Vinci with a spike DDT. Ciampa then took Kaiser to the middle rope and dropped him with an avalanche White Noise, #DIY now finally hit Kaiser with Meet in the Middle to get the win.

Winners: #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tomasso Ciampa)

Well, we made it an hour and a half before a Judgement Day appearance, this has to be a record. Damian Priest was complaining about Drew McIntyre and saying that they could easily take him out too, but Dirty Dom said Mami told them nobody touched Drew. Priest said Rhea Ripley isn’t here and neither is Finn Bálor so he’s taking the lead, Priest believes he’s the leader of J-Day.

Katana Chance & Kayden Carter vs. Natalya & Tegan Nox

I have completely lost interest in this Nox and Natalya pairing, but nonetheless, Natalya began this match by deadlifting Chance into a power slam. However, her power was stalled when Chance and Carter began using their speed and agility. Nox was tagged in to ignite a comeback, she hit Carter with a cannonball and rolling senton. Natalya then double-power bombed both Chance and Carter, but Carter bounced back with a superkick to Natalya. Together they then delivered a Keg Stand to Natalya to get the victory.

Winners: Katana Chance & Kayden Carter

Following the match, one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Chelsea Green got up on the ring apron and Chance sent her flying with a kick to the face. I think we know who is next in line for a title shot.

“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes now made his way to the ring and he was not in his usual suit, he was dressed for a fight. Last week, Shinsuke Nakamura revealed that it was Rhodes he was after and sprayed red mist into his eyes. Rhodes said the first time he laid eyes on the poison mist he was a little boy and he was terrified by The Great Muta spraying it. He said last week his fears were justified and he should’ve been paying closer attention to the clues Nakamura was dropping for weeks.

However, Rhodes said he is ready for Nakamura and wanted him to come out and fight right now! Instead, the lights went out except for a spotlight on Rhodes and Nakamura appeared on the screen. He said they had both won the Royal Rumble, but they both came up short and fell into a pit of humiliation. The Devil always reminds you that you will never make it back there, but Cody has inspired him and he wants to unburden him by taking the story off his hands and finishing his.

Rhodes said they may have had a similar path, but he does not respect Nakamura and it has never been his story to run from a fight. If Nakamura believes they are the same, Rhodes wants him to prove it.

Jey Uso entered Adam Pearce’s office to check on Sami Zayn, but there were no updates and Pearce told Uso to focus on his World Title match in the main event. However, Uso said if the Drew McIntyre problem doesn’t get solved he has no problem stepping in.

After Uso left the office, Gunther entered and said he has some ideas for Pearce…I wonder what these ideas are.

The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus) vs. The Judgement Day (JD McDonagh & Dominik Mysterio)

Last week, The Creed Brothers became number one contenders for Damian Priest and Finn Bálor’s Undisputed Tag Team Titles, so this week McDonagh and Mysterio wanted to see if they have what it takes. Brutus began the match by holding Dom over his head in a suplex position before passing him to Julius who finally dropped him. Dom ran to tag in McDonagh and he was quickly being outworked by both Creed Brothers. However, after a few cheap shots from J-Day, McDonagh dove onto both brothers with a springboard moonsault.

Dom then tried to give Brutus the Three Amigos, but Brutus reversed the final suplex into a suplex of his own. Julius was tagged in and he gave both McDonagh and Dom three belly-to-belly suplexes each, but McDonagh then reversed a Brutus Ball into a poisonrana and he dove onto Brutus on the outside. Dom then hit Julius with a 619 and J-Day went for a double team, but they ended up getting caught in a double-Northern Lights suplex from Julius. Brutus now ran to the outside and pounced Dom over the announce table before hitting McDonagh with the Brutus Ball to get the win.

Winners: The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus)

Following the loss, Priest asked JD and Dom what happened, and they simply responded by saying that The Creed Brothers are the real deal and they need to watch out.

The funny part of this segment was seeing Gunther rip Kaiser and Vinci to shreds in the background fore their loss earlier.

Seth Rollins was preparing for his title defence backstage when he was approached by Adam Pearce who had some news for him. Pearce told Rollins he invited CM Punk to Raw next week and intends to sign him to a full-time Raw contract. Rollins didn’t care to hear about Punk and wished Pearce luck with that because Punk will eventually show his true colours. He instead wants to focus on his match with Jey Uso.

Uso then approached Rollins and said tonight is his night and he’s going to be the World Champ. We now got some friendly banter between the two, but they showed respect for each other with a fist bump before heading to the ring.

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Jey Uso

Uso and Rollins got things started by both trying to get an early pin, but Rollins put a stop to that and caught Uso with a knee to the head. He followed that with a springboard swanton and springboard moonsault. It seemed like the champ was rolling, but Uso then caught him with a pop-up neckbreaker followed by a backbreaker.

Uso then went to the top rope and Rollins hit him with an enzigiri to knock him down, both men now ended up on the floor where Uso spiked him with a DDT. As the match rolled on, both men were exchanging forearms until Rollins knocked Uso to the floor. He then dove through the ropes with a suicide dive, but when he went for a second, Uso knocked him to the floor and dove with a suicide dive of his own.

Both men were down and as they got up they both took turns hitting a flurry of strikes, but they both had reversals for each other. Uso finally got some momentum going with a big kick and he then paid homage to Umaga with a running hip toss in the corner. He now went for the Uso Splash, but Rollins rolled out of the way and hit a sling blade followed by a frog splash. They then traded superkicks and it was Uso’s kick that knocked Rollins down, he then ran to the top rope and hit the Uso Splash, but Rollins kicked out at two!

Uso went back to the top rope, but Rollins popped up and joined him on the top to deliver a superplex, roll through and hit a falcon’s arrow. Rollins then hit a Pedigree and went for the Stomp, Uso moved out of the way and speared Rollins. Uso went for a second spear and ran into a kick from Rollins, he then hit a Buckle Bomb, but Uso popped out of the corner with another Spear. He then went to the top rope again and hit a second Uso Splash, I really thought that was it, however, Rollins kicked out again.

Uso attempted a third Spear only to be caught in mid-air with a Pedigree from Rollins. He then backed into the corner and finally landed the Stomp to retain his championship. What a fantastic main event!

Winner: Still World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins

Uso was standing at ringside following this match and he was knocked to the floor with a Claymore from Drew McIntyre! Rollins tried to dive onto McIntyre, but he was caught in mid-air and sent flying with a belly-to-belly suplex. McIntyre then put Uso through the announce table with a suplex before screaming at him, “The Truth will set you free!” The Scottish Psychopath has gone psycho.
