Dynamite: Thanksgiving Eve sees the start of the Continental Classic

Greetings and salutations! Its Thanksgiving eve in the USA and we have some wrestling to cover. This week will be the start of the Continental Classic that lasts until the next PPV, Worlds Ends on December 30th. With all of this in mind, let’s get straight to the action.


AEW Continental Classic: Swerve Strickland VS Jay Lethal


As the match started, both men aren’t quite sure about the other person, but thins urn when Swerve sends Lethal outside of the ring. Once both are back in the ring, Lethal gets Swerve down in the mat, but he counter everything and aims for Lethal’s legs. Lethal comes right back though and hits a Shoulder breaker. We are back outside of the ring and Swerve takes control. Swerve with a huge Suplex on Lethal, but its only good for a 2-count. Swerve fights back and gets a Stretch Muffler on Lethal. Lethal gets out and hits a Pump Kick on Swerve. Lethal looks for the Lethal injection, but Swerve counters and hits a House Call, followed by a Swerve Stomp for the win.

Winner: Swerve Strickland


Renee Paquette is in the back with Orange Cassidy, HOOK, and Katsuyori Shibata. Wheeler Yuta comes in and gets to Cassidy’s face. Yuta says seeing Shibata with the ROH Pure Championship makes him sick and he wants the title back.


MJF and Adam Cole….


MJF is limping with cane and Cole is on crutches. MJF says there are some girls he’d like to get deep with, and he’s not talking about the pizza. MJF says Jay White is one of the best wrestlers in the world. MJF ring su the devil and says no one is on that level. MJF says he is the greatest AEW World Champion of all time and credits Cole for his run. Cole says he’s glad they still have the ROH World Tag Team Championships.

Cole says he is not cleared yet, but he will work hard so he can return. Cole tells MJF he is worried about him because everyone is after him. MJF vows to find The Devil and send him to hell. The appears and laughs. Samoa Joe comes out and says they should be celebrating. oe says Cole cant hel MJF and he makes it clear that he’s there to make sure MJF lives up to his deal to give him a world title shot. MJF says he thought about their deal, and he’s about to say no, but Joe gets violent and grab MJF. Cole asks Joe to let him speak to MJF and says he should be a man of his word.  MJF challenges Joe to face him but Joe turns him down and says he wants him when hes at 100%. Joe says he wants MJF at Worlds End and MJF agrees to face Samoa Joe at AEW Worlds End.


Orange Cassidy, Katsuyori Shibata & HOOK VS Matt Menard, Angelo Parker & Jake Hager


Cassidy brings out Danhausen. Menard, Parker, and Hager take control and isolate HOOK, but HOOK comes back, rallies and tags Cassidy, who clears house. Hager slams Cassidy, but Shibata tags in gives it to Hager. Hager, Menard, and Parker get Shibata but Danhausen pulls out Hager’s hat and puts it on. Hager chases him, and Danhausen curses him. HOOK is in, and he and  Shibara and HOOK lock Menard and Parker in stereo locks to get the win.

Renee Paquette is with Adam Cole. She wishes him a speedy recovery and ole says he can’t wait to return. Roderick Strong rolls up with The Kingdom. Strong asks Cole why he wasn’t there for him. Cole says Strong is not his best friend anymore. Cole tells Strong to leave him alone.


Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne Speak


Christian Cage says that Luchasaurus lost the match at Full Gear. Cage then says it’s time for Cage to recreate Luchasaurus and Wayne in his image. Luchasaurus bows and takes a knee. Cage says  Luchasaurus is associated with being a loser, so he renames him to Killswitch. Cage tells Wayne he is the son he never had before.Nick Wayne’s mom comes out and Cage calls her terrible. Cage tells Nick’s mom she couldn’t give him anything and that it’s a good thing her husband is dead.

Killswitch gets in Cage’s face but Cage tells him to get back on his knees and slaps him. Christian the pushes him to Waynes mom and he orders Nick to get a chair. Cage sets Shayna up for a con-chair-to. He gives the chair to Killswitch only for Adam Copeland to come out and save the day. Copeland takes out Wayne with a Spear. Cage escapes, and Copeland hits Nick with a con-chair-to.


Backstage, Matt Menard is mad. Hager is also mad that Danhausen took his hat. Anna Jay says this is about her and her match. Jay says she is tired of losing, and she just wants to wrestle. Angelo Parker gets a call but tells Anna Jay he’ll be in her corner.


AEW Continental Classic: RUSH VS Jay White


RUSH takes control early and hits a huge chop. At ringside, RUSH slams White into the barricade and hits some more chops. Back in the ring, RUSH and White trade blows and White gains the advantage for a bit. RUSH hits White with a kick. White throws RUSH outside and slams him into a barricade for once. White with a Neckbreaker and a suplex right into the corner. RUSH comes back and battles. RUSH with a Brainbuster for a 2-count. RUSH sets up and goes for a Senton but White moves out of the way and then hits a Brainbuster. They trade chops and RUSH hits a  German suplex, but White rallies back and slams RUSH to the corner. RUSH with an Elbow, but White hits RUSH in the gonads and hits a Bladerunner for the win.

Winner: Jay White


Big Bill and Ricky Starks attack Chris Jericho. They hurt Jericho’s arm with some equipment.


Toni Storm’s Acceptance Speech


RJ City and Renee Paquette present Toni Storm with the AEW Women’s World Championship. Storm acts like she won an Oscar. Mariah May hands her the title and Storm give an acceptance speech. She thanks “Anthony Khan” and says nobody will take her spot.

Sky Blue is out and is ready for her match….


Skye Blue vs. Anna Jay (with Matt Menard and Angelo Parker) VS Ruby Soho (with Saraya)


Blue and Jay kick Soho but Soho hits a forearm on Jay. Soho with a Saito suplex on Blue, but Blue knocks Soho outside of the rin. Jay kicks Blue off the apron and throws her to the ring post. Blue fights back but Soho slams her into the barricade. Soho with a kick on Jay. Parker walks up to Soho for a distraction and Saraya and Menard separate them. Blue dives onto Jay and Soho. Jay counters the Code Blue. Once again, Saraya fights verbally with Menard. back in the ring, Blue with a knee and kick to Soho and throws her to Parker. Blue gets out of a Queen-Slayter and slams Jay for the win.

Winner: Skye Blue


Renee Paquette asks Wardlow what he’s waiting for, and he says the downfall of The Devil. AR Fox tries to give him advice, and Wardlow headbutts him.


AEW Continental Classic: Jon Moxley VS Mark Briscoe


Moxley and Briscoe fight out of the ring. Briscoe takes Moxley with a neckbreaker on the outside. Briscoe takes it to Moxley, but Moley comes back and tosses Briscoe on the steeps. Moley with a Superplex and Briscoe is bleeding. Mox with another Suplex and follows that up with a Piledriver. Briscoe tries to come back for a bit . Mox and Briscoe are fightin on the top rope and Briscoe goes for a bite, they are on the mat, and Moxley hits a Paradigm Shift. The match keeps going and Briscoe hits a Death Valley Driver and the Froggy Bow for a 2-count. Briscoe sets up and goes for a Jay Driller, but Moxley counters with a Clothesline. Moxley with the Death Rider for a 2-count. Moxley continues the attack with a Half-and-half suplex, but Mox hits a Death Rider for the win.

Winner: Jon Moxley
