Super Junior Tag League 2023: The War Dogs reign supreme

Super Junior Tag League 2023 rolled on today with another action-packed show. Tonight’s main event was a tournament match between Bullet Club War Dogs, Clark Connors and Drilla Moloney, and Catch 2/2, Francesco Akira and TJP.

This bout began before the bell even sounded as Catch 2/2 leaped onto their opponents in the middle of their entrance. TJP then fought Connors into the crowd where he face-washed Connors into a metal post. However, while that was going on Moloney took out Akira and then turned his attention to TJP.

It seemed like Moloney got his team the upper hand, but he ended up being double-teamed by Catch 2/2 when they got back in the ring. They hit both Moloney and Connors with a variety of strikes before TJP launched Akira into a missile dropkick-senton combination. TJP then washed the face of Moloney, but he was then caught with a pounce from Connors.

Connors now began chopping the spine of TJP before Moloney got some rakes across his face. The War Dogs were in full control, Connors continued his beat down of TJP with a suplex and jumping elbow drop. TJP just could not get Akira tagged in and he was so beaten down he could barely make it to his feet. However, TJP found some power from within and caught Connors with a tornado DDT and then finally tagged in Akira.

Akira came in hot hitting Moloney with a superkick and then a diving moonsault from the second rope. He then worked with TJP as he hit Mioloney with a superkick and then Akira followed that with a German suplex. Moloney got back into it by catching Akira off the ropes with a spine buster and then a double foot stomp. Both Moloney and Akira then tagged out and TJP came into the match by diving off the top rope hitting Connors with a forearm.

He now hit Connors with a Thesz press before he locked Connors into an abdominal stretch, but the hold was broken. Moloney then caught TJP with a superkick, Akira hit Moloney with a superkick and Akira caught Connors with a double foot stomp. Akira then dove to the outside hitting Moloney with a moonsault and TJP got Connors from behind with an elbow-drop neckbreaker.

TJP now went to the top rope and landed a Mamba Splash to Connors, then with Akira they were able to hit Connors with the Leaning Tower. It seemed like the match was over, but Moloney broke up the count. Akira then jumped off of TJP’s back to catch Moloney with a Canadian Destroyer. Catch 2/2 then went for the 2×2, but Connors got out of the way and TJP caught his own partner with a running knee.

Connors now hit TJP with a power slam and with Moloney, they hit TJP with a High-Low. They now went for the Full Clip, but TJP blocked the suplex and Akira met Connors on the top rope to hit an avalanche hurricanrana. Moloney and TJP now took each other out by both going for clotheslines. Connors was now tagged in and he shoved TJP into the referee, he then went to grab his title, but TJP pulled an Eddie Guerrero trick on him. He woke up the referee and made it look like Connors hit him with the title.

Luckily the ref did not call for a disqualification, so Connors hit TJP with an elevated DDT and Moloney hit Akira with a brutal Drilla Killa. Moloney and Connors then hit TJP with a Full Clip and the Junior Tag Champions remain undefeated in the tournament.
