Dynamite: Cole’s WrestleDream is dashed as Jay White confronts MJF

Greetings and salutations! This is the last Dynamite before WrestleDream this Sunday. Will we find out more info about Adam Cole’s injury? We are scheduled to hear from the ROH champions and hopefully Cole will be able to compete. We also have a number 1 contenders match for the International Title as Brian Cage faces Claudio Castagnoli and Nick Jackson in a 3-Way Match. Also on the show we have a contract signing between Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page which means some fight will break out. With so much on the go, let’s get straight to the card…

Dynamite starts right away with the AEW International Championship match…

AEW International Championship: Rey Fenix (c) VS Jeff Jarrett (with Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, Satnam Singh, and Karen Jarrett)

The action starts before the bell even rings as Fenix dives onto Jarrett and Jay Lethal. They continue the fight outside of the ring as Fenix hits a Hurricanrana on Lethal. The numbers game is too much for Fenix as Karen rakes Fenix’s back but Fenix is able to kick Sonjay Dutt before the match heads back to the ring.

Back in the ring, Fenix and Jarrett battle back and forth. With Jarrett down, Fenix hits a Moonsault for a 2-count. Jarrett is able get momentum on his side for a bit but Fenix eventually comes back with a series of strikes. The numbers game are not on Fenix’s side again as Satnam Singh interferes, and Jarrett drops the champion with a DDT. Karen interferes, and Lethal and Dutt attack Fenix at ringside.

Jeff keep Fenix grounded as his main strategy. Karen gets involved again but this time Aubrey Edwards shoves her down. Fenix is able to mount a full comeback as he hits a Springboard Arm Drag on Jarrett, followed by a series of Stomps. Jarrett hits Fenix in the little Fenix’s and pins Fenix with an inside Cradle but it’s only good for a 2-count. Jarrett with The Stroke, but Fenix gets a foot on the rope to break the pin, and he follows that up with an Inside Cradle of his own to pick up the win.

Winner: and still AEW International Champion: Rey Fenix

MJF puts his Dynamite Diamond Ring on and Cole asks if he was going to hit him with it, but MJF brushes it off. Cole says he has more than one friend. They eventually get back to having fun and as they fish, they “catch” Captain Insano. Insano comes on-board, and they drink together..

In the video, Takeshita attacks a student and brawls with Ibushi. Callis hits Ibushi with an umbrella and then Takeshita hits Ibushi with a kettle bell and then proceeds to choke Ibushi with his jacket.
Back in the ring, Callis says the Don Callis Family has never been stronger. Guevara takes the mic and calls himself the hero while Jericho is the villain. Guevara says Jericho kept cutting him down any time he started to fly, but he now has the chance to take the opportunity for himself. Callis vows that his family will beat Omega, Ibushi, and Jericho at WrestleDream this Sunday.

A video package recaps Collision’s main event featuring Bryan Danielson’s win over Ricky Starks. We cut backstage and Starks says Danielson has never beaten him by pinfall or submission. MJF says that if you take away Bullet Club then Jay White is boring, bland tofu. MJF claims White is all hype, and he is just what someone thinks a top guy is in Japan. MJF offers him some advice, and tells him to leave.

The fans chant “tofu” at White. White takes the mic and he says MJF is distracted by Adam Cole. White says the fans don’t love MJF the way they love Cole. White says that him hurting Cole at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2022 led to MJF’s friendship with Cole and everything since then so it’s all thanks to him. White says he’s here to ruin MJF’s life and he tells MJF that he will need to find another level to stop him from taking the title. Hangman says Strickland will get his best at AEW WrestleDream.

Swerve calls Page’s words more pathetic than the Denver Broncos. Swerve says it could have been anybody, but it just so happened to be Hangman that he has to go through. Swerve tells Hangman that those mental health problems might be caused because he makes enemies every day. Swerve tells Hangman that he will take his position from him. Page comes back and says that he’s knocked out every opportunity he’s had out of the park. Hangman says that Swerve can’t fill his boots. Swerve slaps him.
