It isn’t a good time for wrestling programming on television.
Dwayne Johnson’s The Young Rock was cancelled in June after three seasons and now Starz has pulled the plug on Heels.
Word from the network is Heels “unfortunately did not find a large enough audience”.
Heels returned to the airwaves in July for its second season. The first season aired back in 2021.
The series starred former Arrow star Stephen Amell as Jack Spade, the “heel” of the show who wrestled his “face” brother Ace (Alexander Ludwig) for control of their late father’s wrestling promotion in Georgia.
Season one has an average viewership of 91,000 and an average key demo of 0.02.
Season two had an average key demo of 0.01 and an average viewership of 40,000 per episode.
