The National Wrestling Alliance is stepping into a new gear with all the combatants wanting to get an edge heading into the NWA 75 pay-per-view. Blunt Force Trauma wants the NWA tag titles and they are going to work out their kinks in the main event against EC3 and his new protege, Jordan Clearwater.

We’ll see later how the team fares as we come to you from StudioOne in Highland Park, Il. Joe Galli and Tim Storm have the call for the First Match of the night between…

The Southern Six (Kerry Morton and Alex Taylor, with Thrillbilly Silas Mason) vs. Colby Corino and Joe Alonzo

The odds are stacked against Alonzo and Corino, to say nothing of the fact of how testy the rivals are teaming up.  As Alonzo and Morton begin in the ring, the Future Legend wants a piece of Corino.  As he tags in, Morton brings in Taylor, but Corino has some moves for The American Gigolo.  He brings him over and Alonzo tags in and catches Taylor’s arm with an Axehandle and he is in control until Morton trips him up.  That allows The Southern Six to get the drop on Alonzo and then Morton nails him with a slingshot suplex.  They beat down on Alonzo and keep him isolated in the corner.  The junior heavyweight rushes into the corner, and Alonzo ducks out of the way.  Morton gets stunned on the turnbuckles and Alonzo nails a cutter to create space, and he manages to get the hot tag to Corino, who is a Last Bastion en Fuego.  He clears the squared circle and gives Taylor the elbow drop for a two count.  But the numbers game catches up as Corino is sent out and then Alonzo tries to keep the pace.  Taylor throws him into the second turnbuckle and delivers the Green Whistle (Michinoku Driver II) for the three count.

Your Winners via Pinfall:  The Southern Six

Judais vs. Talos

Again, do not expect anything resembling a technical match as this is heading, to quote Todd Keneley, to the land of the big uglies.

Both men stand eye to eye and toe to toe, literally.  They throw heavy bombs right out of the gate and Talos catches The Priest of Punishment with a sidewalk slam and he kicks out at two.  Judais scrapes his eyes over the top rope, and then clubs at his chest.  Talos reverses the whip into the corner, but Judais avoids his attacks and goes back to clubbing him.  Both go for the chokeslam, but Judais reverses and showcases his impressive strength with a  fallaway slam.  Then, Sal the Pal comes out in beachwear to distract.  As the ref tends to that loon, Gaagz enters and gives Judais the Gaagz reflex and runs out of the ring.  That allows Talos to deliver the choke slam for the pin and the win.

Your Winner via Pinfall:  Talos

May Valentine is backstage interviewing the NWA Television Champion, Thom Latimer.  She inquires if he can envision getting close to the “Lucky Seven” wins to cash in for a title shot, and Latimer answers that through all the ups and downs, he can see the light.  Doesn’t matter who the opponent is, because he is confident he will be victorious and be able to challenge for the Ten Pounds of Gold.  Next week, he and Adonis will face Trevor Murdoch and Mike Knox, and even with their history, Latimer believes Knox and Murdoch will be in the fight of their lives.

Time for DLZ with Danny Dealz, and he’s got the deets (as the kids would say) about Latimer, Adonis, et al.  He chats it up with Ruthie Jay, and the Five Star Athlete is confident that one day she will take on Kamille for The Burke.

Ahhh, kids and their idealism.  It’s kinda charming.

Speaking of charms, we head ringside, and this is a…

Mixed Tag Team Match: AJ Cazana and Natalia Markova vs. Magic Inc (“Magic” Jake Dumas and CJ)

Galli remarks that “This is the first time we’re seeing CJ in action.”

As for me….eh, you buy the bit, you buy the premise.  So let’s play along, shall we?

CJ and Markova start, and the Brazillian magic assistant looks like a fish outta water as Markova beats her down mercilessly.  Dumas tags in and he wants Cazana, but Markova chops him and gets a cutter to cover for a two count.  Now Cazana tags and he drops elbows on Dumas, and then whips him into the corner and smothers Dumas with a splash followed by a clothesline for a close two count.  Dumas tags CJ, and now she starts to fight back against Markova.  She lands a codebreaker then a high knee in the corner to The Crush.  Cazana tags back in and goes for a corner splash on Dumas, but hits Markova by mistake.  Well, The Country Gentleman is beside himself for striking a woman, but CJ has zero problems with that as she nails a Lionsault and then Dumas adds the exclamation point with his own moonsault, and then, “Ta-Da!”

Your Winners, And Still a Better Act than Criss Angel:  Magic, Inc.

May Valentine talks with Eric Jackson and he is grateful for the opportunity in the NWA and to be able to showcase who he is. But he believes everyone has been sleeping on him.  Next week, he’ll team up with the “Psycho Boy” Fodder, and they won’t sleep on him after that.  He vows they will step on the competition.

Kyle Davis is in the NWA Control Center, as he talks about the last leg of The World is a Vampire tour in the South as they make their way to St. Louis, MO, for NWA 75, and how Thom Latimer will team with his former Strictly Business partner Chris Adonis next week to face Knox/Murdoch.

But we head back to the squared circle and this is a non-title match between…

Kamille vs. Kylie Paige

The little sister of Kenzie Paige is getting womanhandled by The Brickhouse, and she is overmatched as Kamille slams her to the mat for a two count.  She follows with the Findlay roll and signals for the spear, but Paige ducks away as Kamille’s momentum takes her past the corner and runs shoulder-first into the ring post.  Paige focuses on the bad left arm and caused more damage to the ligaments to take away her main offensive weapon.  She goes for a baseball dropkick that misses, and Kamille is fired up. She goes to the pin but can’t fully cover her because of all the pain in her left shoulder.  Paige sets up for a Code Red and Kamille reverses it into an Alabama slam and then follows with the spear from her right side, and that’s all she wrote.

Your Winner via Pinfall:  Kamille

Roxy and Ella Envy come out to support their Pretty Empowered sister.  As they foolishly go to attack, Kamille spears the both of them, and the NWA Women’s Television Champion Kenzie Paige looks on as if to suggest she would get her shot at The Burke sooner than later.

May Valentine now talks to Mike Knox and Trevor Murdoch about how they stay motivated, and Murdoch says they will dominate, win, and collect checks.  They obviously have their sights set on La Rebelion and the NWA tag team belts at NWA 75.  Knox lays it real simply that whoever shows up goes down, and that goes double next week when they take on Thom Latimer and Chris Adonis.

That leads to a promo by Kamille, and after 800 days as the NWA Women’s World Champion she’ll take on Natalia Markova again in a no holds barred match at NWA 75.

Now it’s time for the Main Event, and this is hard-hitting tag team action between…

EC3 and Jordan Clearwater (with C-Red) vs. Blunt Force Trauma (Carnage and Damage, with Aron Stevens)

Clearwater is definitely trying to garner as much knowledge by sitting under the learning tree of The Overman, and one hopes that will translate to success, if not allow him to create his own narrative.

The bell rings and Clearwater and Carnage start off the match, but the masked man quickly runs him down.  After a quickie coaching sesh, Clearwater now locks up with Damage and it’s more of the same beating.  He looks off as he tags in EC, and he shows his protege how it’s supposed to be done when taking down opponents like Blunt Force Trauma.  EC3 and Clearwater double team with a shoulder tackle to Damage, but he comes back and lands a standing dropkick to the Overman.  Then Blunt Force Trauma work over EC3 and the Overman is in Peril, as Damage spinebusters him hard to the mat.  EC3 is in the corner and Carnage rushes at him.  He dodges out of the way and the masked man is stunned as he hits the turnbuckles.

That allows EC3 to crawl to his corner and get the hot tag, and now Clearwater is a Golden Boy En Fuego with a neckbreaker to cover Carnage, but Damage breaks the count.  The match devolves to a Pier Four brawl and as the ref tries to restore order in the ring, Blunt Force Trauma delivers The Demolisher finisher (a backbreaker/elbow drop combo) to Clearwater. EC3 runs into the ring to make the save but Stevens grabs his ankle as they get the one, two, and three.

Your Winners via Pinfall:  Blunt Force Trauma

Stevens is looking proud as a peacock as Cranage and Damage have momentum heading to the PPV as the show rolls to the credits.

Final Thoughts:

Blunt Force Trauma has really gelled as a tag team unit that looks indestructible.

I’m glad they’re giving CJ more to do, especially in this match with Dumas.  Better late than never, I guess.

But we have one more week until the PPV, so see ya in seven!
