SummerSlam: Allegiances are put to a test as the summer’s biggest party rages through Detroit

Greetings and salutations! It is the biggest event of the summer and we are LIVE from Ford Field in Detroit. Will Jey Uso be able to finish his own story? Will Roman lose his tribe? Will Asuka be able to defend her championship in a triple threat? Is Logan Paul going to finally get a W? We have the answers to all those questions on this report so without further ado, let’s get to the show!


The show kicked off with a video narrated by Kid Rock. Michael Cole and Corey Graves are on commentary. We get right to the action!


Logan Paul VS. Ricochet


Paul rubs Ricochet’s head and Ricochet slaps Paul. Ricochet send Paul to the outside of the ring. Ricochet does his tease dive and bounces off the ropes only to have Paul cover himself up. Paul ends up back in the ring and elbows Ricochet sending him down to the floor, followed by a Neckbreaker. Paul begins to tease Samantha Irvine by saying that he’s going to hurt her fiancé. Paul hits a Running Powerslam ala Braun Stroman which was good for a 2-count. Paul then hits a Big Boot and a Leg Drop for another 2-count, which Cole noted that this combo of moves is called the “Hogan Paul”…

Ricochet comes back and gets Paul down and does a Standing Moonsault for a 2-count of his own. Paul is right back into it and executes a huge Back Body Drop that sent Ricochet to the moon and back. Both men fight to the apron where Paul does a Spanish fly from the apron to the floor but both men land on their feet. Ricochet ends up executing the Spanish fly at ringside. Both men are slow to get up but Paul is back in the ring and does a Buckshot Lariat from the ring to Ricochet who was on the outside.

Paul sends Ricochet back in the ring and does a Crossbody from the top rope, followed by a standing Moonsault for another 2-count. With Ricochet in the corner, Paul charges at him, Ricochet avoids him, and Paul hits the Rong Post. Ricochet with a Hurricane Neckbreaker from the top rope on Paul, then follows that up with a Springboard Clothesline, Standing Moonsault combo. Paul is back in the match as he backflips into Ricochet and does a standing Tornado DDT for a really close nearfall. Ricochet connects on Recoil and begins to sell the rib injury.

Ricochet is at the top again but took his time. Ricochet looks for a 630 splash but Paul avoids it. As Paul and Ricochet are recovering, a hooded man comes to Paul’s side and places a pair of Brass Knuckles on his hand. Paul hits Ricochet with the Power of the Punch and gets the pinfall win.

Winner: Logan Paul

After the match, Paul taunts Irvine to say who won again. Irvine looks distraught and Paul celebrates his win.


Footage aired of Sheamus arriving to Ford Field in a WWE monster truck with Butch and Ridge Holland.

We get an excellent video package hyping the next match which is Cody Rhodes vs Brock Lesnar 3.


Brock Lesnar VS Cody Rhodes


Cody’s mother was front row cheering on her son. Cody attacks Lesnar before the opening bell and gets two Disaster Kicks in after getting up from a quick Suplex from Lesnar. Cody goes for the third disaster kick, but Lesnar stops it. Lesnar sends Cody to the corner and rushes at him, but Cody moves out of the way, sending Lesnar crashing to the ring post, sending him to ringside.

Cody hits a Suicide Dive on Lesnar. Lesnar is not out of it just yet as he unloads on Cody by hitting a few Suplexes and putting the boots to Cody for a while. Lesnar connects on a Overhead Belly-to-Belly Suplex. Lesnar would hit a few Suplexes that sent Cody to the outside to allow the ref to count to 10, but Cody would always find a way back into the ring. This went on for a bit.

With Cody on the outside, Lesnar is visibly frustrated and goes outside to F5 Cody. Cody beats the count again and gets to his feet. Cody tries to come back to the match, but Lesnar is too powerful for him as he hits Cody with a vicious German Suplex, sending Cody rolling to ringside yet again. Lesnar is back out of the ring again with Cody and F5’s Cody through the announce table. Lesnar is back in the ring allowing the ref to count to 10, but Cody beats the count at 9. Cody is barely up, on his knees trying to punch and claw through Lesnar, but Lesnar delivers another Suplex as Cody grabbed the ring turnbuckle pad.

Both men are back outside. Cody gets some momentum as he sends Lesnar to the ring post twice, and hits him with the ring steps. Both men are back in the ring and Cody hits another Disaster Kick, followed by a Cody Cutter. Cody then runs and climbs to the top rope and hits a huge Cody Cutter from the top for a 2.9 count.

Lesnar locks in a Kimura Lock, Cody gets the rope break, and somehow locks in a Kimura Lock of his own. Lesnar is thinking about tapping but he gets up and drives Cody to the floor. Lesnar is looking for another F5, but Cody kicks out, and hits 3 Cross Rhodes for the win!

Winner: Cody Rhodes

After the match, Cody and Lesnar stared at each other from either side of the ring. Lesnar slowly moves closer to Cody and the Cody waves the ref off. Both men get fact to face with one another and eventually they shake hands and Huge. Lesnar then raises Cody’s arms towards all 4 sides of the ring. Cody hugs his mom…


WWE Payback and a WrestleMania XL videos aired, followed by a Becky Lynch video while Peacock had their ads.

When we are back it’s time for the SummerSlam Slim Jim Battle Royal and everyone is out except for LA KNIGHT (YEAH!!), and AS Styles.


The SummerSlam Battle Royal


The entrants were LA Knight, AJ Styles, The Miz, Austin Theory, Karrion Kross, Cameron Grimes, Apollo Crews, Santos Escobar, Tommaso Ciampa, Ridge Holland, Butch, Sheamus, Matt Riddle, Grayson Waller, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bronson Reed, Erik, Ivar, JD McDonagh, Rick Boogs, Otis, Chad Gable, Ludwig Kaiser, and Giovanni Vinci. As the match started, MVP interrupts everyone and introduces Omos into the match.

The final four were Kight, Reed, Styles, and Sheamus. Knight slowly suplexes Reed from the apron to eliminate him. Styles moves out of the way from a Brogue Kick and is set up on the Apron for a Phenomenal Forearm. Kross is out and grabs Styles’ legs to eliminate him. Knight and Sheamus were the last two. Sheamus is looking for a Celtic Cross, but Knight fights it off. Sheamus is on the top rope, but is met and greeted by Knight who ran up there and hit a Over the head Suplex on him from the top rope. Sheamus is eliminated after Knight hits a clothesline.

Winner: LA Knight


A video package set up the MMA Rules match. Before the match started, the ref went over the rules by saying that this match is not a WWE sanctioned match, no rope breaks or pins, and the only way the match ends is by KO or submission.


Ronda Rousey VS Shayna Baszler


Rousey is looking to end this fast as she looks for an Armbar. Shayna kicks Rousey down, but she rolls outside. Rousey is back in the ring and Shayna drops her and locks in a Leg Lock. The two women exchange some punches from the seated position until Shayne let go of Rousey’s leg.

Rousey with a vicious knee to Shayna’s face. Rousey with punches on Shayna. Rousey with an Armbar, but Shayne lifts Rousey up and both women just fumble to the floor, causing Rousey to let go of the Armbar. Shayna is in the corner, grabbing her arm and the ref calls for trainers to check on her. Rousey threw the trainers to the side and attacked Shayna some more. Shayna is back up and throws her mouthguard at Rousey.

Shayna locks the Kirifuda Clutch, Rousey rolls through and turns it into another Armbar, but Shayna stands up and escapes the hold, locking in an Ankle Lock. Rousey counters the counter and turns it into a Rear Naked Choke. Shayna gets Rousey off her and escapes the move. Rousey with a Knee Strike, but Shayne avoids it and locks in the Kirifuda Clutch. Rousey passes out and the match is over!

Winner: Shayna Baszler


Mike Rome announced the “official” attendance as 59, 194.

Intercontinental Championship: Gunther (c) VS Drew McIntyre


Both men end up outside of the ring and Gunther throws Drew to the ring steps. And here is Chop-Fest-Palooza 2023. After several chops, Drew goes for the Claymore, but Gunther avoids it, and Dropkicks Drew to the corner. Gunther is looking for a Powerbomb but Drew escapes and hits a Powerbomb of his own on Gunther. Drew hits a Future Shock DDT for a 2-count.

Drew is looking for a Claymore again, the Gunther escapes to the outside. Drew with a Flip Dive onto Gunther from the ring, and chucks him back in the ring. Drew starts the Claymore countdown, but Gunther hits a Dropkick. Gunther gets that Powerbomb onto Drew for a 2-count. Gunther connects on his splash from the top rope for another nearfall.

Gunther slaps Drew a few times but Drew evades one, and Drew delivers some chops and slaps of his own. More Chopfest and Drew eventually ducks through one and hits Gunther with The Claymore, but it was only goof for a 2.5-count. Drew sits Gunther on the top rope and chops Gunther a few times. Gunther blocks a move by Drew and shoves Drew to the mat. Gunther with a Splash, Lariat, Powerbomb for the win.

Winner: AND STILL Intercontinental Champion; Gunther


A video package set up the World Heavyweight Championship match. Balor comes out alone and Seth Rollins comes out wearing the same vest he did seven years ago when he injured Balor.


World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins (c) VS Finn Balor


Balor jumps Rollins before the match starts to get the early advantage. The ref separates both men though. Once the match officially starts, Balor is targeting the left arm of Rollins as retribution for Rollins injuring Balor seven SummerSlams ago. Rollins comes back and even grabs Balor by the Bear (THE HUMANITY!). Rollins hits a Falcon Arrow on Balor for a 2-count. Both men are outside and Balor hits Rollins’ shoulder first to the ring post.

Balor is ready to Bucklebomb Rollins onto a barricade to pay Rollins back from doing that same move seven years ago. Rollins fights his way out of it, but to no avail, Balor ends up hitting the Buckle Bomb onto Rollins. Balor throws Rollins back in the ring and hits a Sling Blade, followed by an inverted DDT for a 2-count. Balor puts Rollins in an armbar, but Rollins hulks up and breaks the hold and slams Balor to the corner. Rollins returns the favor of the Buckle Bombs from earlier by delivering two of his own. Rollins with a Frog Splash for a 2-count.

Rollins is looking to end the match and hit a Stomp, but Balor avoids it and hits a Double Stomp on Rollins. Balor with his Shotgun Dropkick and is looking to end things as he climbs the rope, but Rollins gets up and runs up to greet Balor at the top rope to hit a Superplex. Rollins is looking for a Falcon Arrow, but Balor slips out and pins Rollins for a 2-count.

Damian Priest walks out. Rollins is distracted by staring at Priest walk down, and gets pinned by Balor for a 2-count. Rollins with a pin of his own for a 2-count. Rollins runs the ropes, but Priest punches Rollins and Balor hits a Pedigree for a 2-count. Dominik and Rhea Ripley are out from the crowd and all of Judgment Day surrounds Rollins. With Rhea and Dom distracting the ref, Priest wants to give Balor is briefcase but Balor said no. Rollins knocks Priest off the Apron, Balor with a rollup pin, but Rollins edges out and Stomps Balor for a 2-count.

Rollins with a dive onto Priest on the outside. Rollins then Superkicks Dom. Rollins is back in the ring, but Balor hits a Sling Blade, followed by a Coup De Grace for a 2.9 count. Priest throws the briefcase in the ring and runs to the other side of the ring to distract the ref. Balor inches closer to the briefcase from his knees. Rollins notices this and stomps Balor head first to the briefcase, and gets the pin.

Winner: AND STILL World Heavyweight Champion; Seth Rollins

Priest looks at Balor completely shocked. Rollins leaves the ring as Balor and Priest share glances.


A video package set up the WWE Women’s Championship match and we get entrances for the match.

Bianca Belair is out last and took a drink from a C4 drink before heading to the ring making this feel like Wayne endorsing all the products in Wayne’s World 1.


WWE Women’s Championship: Asuka (c) VS Bianca Belair VS Charlotte Flair


Bianca with a DDT on Charlotte while hitting a Neckbreaker on Charlotte. Belair with a Kipup hits a Handspring to the ropes and goes for her Moonsault, but both Charlotte and Asuka raise their knees on Belair’s back. Asuka locks an Asuka Lock on Charlotte, but Belair does the Handspring to the ropes/Moonsault to break it up. Charlotte hits moves on Asuka and Belair sending them to the outside. Charlotte climbs the top rope and does a standing Moonsault to Belair on the outside of the ring. Asuka kicks Charlotte as she gets up.

Asuka sends Charlotte back to the ring and puts the boot to Flair. Belair looks for a KOD on Asuka, but Asuka slips out and rolls to the apron. Charlotte kicks Asuka off the apron. Belair looks for a KOD on Flair , but Flair escapes, some back and forth happened with the two and Belair slams Charlotte down on the mat for a 2-count.

Asuka with an Armbar on Charlotte. Charlotte uses her strength and tries to lift Asuka up. Belair is in the ring, breaks the hold and hits a Sit-Out Ppwerbomb on Flair. Asuka with an Armbar on Belair, but Charlotte is in and hooks Belair’s legs to get a 2-count while still in the armbar. Charlotte with a Big Boot on Asuka. Charlotte then smashes Belair’s face into the turnbuckle, dropping both her opponents. Charlotte climbs the ropes and does a Moonsault on both women for a 2-count.

Belair is up first and battles with Charlotte. Charlotte lifts Belair up and over the top rope causing her to crash hard knee first on the steps. Trainers and refs are out to take Belair to the back. In the ring, Charlotte hits a Spear on Asuka and gets a 2-count. Charlotte applies the Figure-8. Belair is limping back and pushing through trainers. With Charlotte applying more pressure on Asuka, Belair slowly combs to the top rope and hits a 450 Splash for a nearfall.

Asuka rolls out of the ring. Belair and Flair trade strikes and forearms. Belair goes for a KOD but Charlotte rolls out, and comes right back slamming Belair down and hitting a Figure-8. Asuka is back in and goes to spit Mist on Charlotte’s face. Asuka goes for a kick to Belair but she ducks it, gets an inside cradle on Asuka and gets the win!

Winner: AND NEW WWE Women’s Champion; Bianca Belair

After the match, Iyo Sky and Bayley run out. Bayley takes the briefacsae and hits Asuka and Charlotte with it. Bayley goes to hit Belair, but Belair dodges it. Sky hits Belair with the briefcase and CASHES IN!

Iyo Sky immediately climbs to the top rope and hits her Moonsault and gets the pin.

Winner: AND NEW WWE Women’s Champion; Iyo Sky

After the match, Dakota Kai joins Iyo and Bayley in the ring to celebrate the win.

Jey made his entrance wearing white gear and a white lei. Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman made their entrance as Reigns wore the tribal chief lei.

Reigns got the mic and told “SummerSlam” to acknowledge him. Mike Rome with the formal intros. (This REALLY dragged long.)


Tribal Combat for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) VS Jey Uso


Reigns is in control to start the match. Jey slowly comes back and eventually gets control by clotheslining Roman over the top. Jey with a Suicide Dive onto Roman. Jey gets a table out and set it up. Roman gets up and attacks Jey to regain control of the match. Roman is very preoccupied with the crowd who is firmly behind Jey. Roman with a Drive by Kick on Jey. Roman then grabs a Kendo Stick and works over Jey for a bit. Roman used the Kendo Stick to pick Jey up and goes to attack Jey, but Jey punches free. Roman comes right back and knocks Jey to the corner and unloads with a few clotheslines and punches. Jey drops to his knees. Roman pushes Jey over.

Roman is looking for the Superman Punch, but Jey grabbed the Kendo Stick and attacked before the punch. Jey unleashes on Roman with the Kendo Stick. Roman is on the floor after the vicious attack and Jey goes for a dive, but Roman with a Superman Punch on Jey. Jey slowly comes back and gets Roman down. Jey with a Splash for a 2-count.

Jey continues to attack Roman with a chair this time. Jey then throws in several chairs into the ring. Jey is looking for a Superplex, but Roman blocks it and delivers a Headbutt to Jey, making him fall off. Jey gets up and hits an Enzuigiri. Jey is back on the top rope, Roman gets under him and Powerbombs him onto the chair setup. Roman sets up a table in the ring.

Roman lifts Jey up and looks for the table, but Jey slips out and is on the apron. Jey with a kick from the apron. Jey looks to lift Roman up, but he elbows out of it. Jey coms right back and lifts Roman onto his shoulders and falls backwards through a table set up at ringside.

Jey grabs a leather strap and hits Roman a few times. Roman tries to escape the beating by going through the crowd and ends up at photographer row. Jey gets control of Roman and lifts him up, but Solo Sikoa is out and knocks Jey down. Solo with a Urange through the table. Solo slowly drags Jey back to the ring with Roman beside them yelling at Jey. Solo with a second Urange Slam. Solo holds up Jey for Roman who looks for a Spear, but Jey moves out of the way and Spears Solo. Jey hits a Spear on Roman for a 2-count.

Jey with a chair and hits Solo and Roman. Roman is outside and Jey follows him with a chair. Solo catches up and Superkicks Jey. Roman signals for Solo to help him, but Solo hesitates and just stares at Roman. Solo wasn’t happy about the Spear and the two just stare at each other. Jey charges from stage left and Spears Roman through the barricade. Solo is back on the attack and lifts Jey up to slam him through the announce table, but Jey is out and Superkicks Solo onto the table. Jey smashes through Solo and the table. Jey throws Roman back in the ring.

Jey Spears Roman again and is about to get the win until someone in a hood yanked Jey out of the ring. The hooded man is revealed to be JIMMY USO. Jey is on his knees in shock. Jimmy Superkicks Jey and throws him into the ring to a surprised Roman. Roman with a Spear through the table and gets the pinfall.

Winner: AND STILL Undisputed WWE Universal Championship; Roman Reigns

After the match, Reigns put his tribal chief lei on. Cole is yelling in disgust by the actions of Jimmy Uso. The show fades to black and we get a video recapping the show.
