ROH: Joe and Sydal Battle for TV Gold

Greetings and salutations! Here are some quick results for ROH from June 16, 2023.


The show opened in the back with Dasha interviewing Matt Sydal. Sydal says he isn’t afraid of taking initiative and that’s how he’s gotten any chance in his career. He says he will win the TV title from Samoa Joe tonight. The show then cuts to Samoa Joe for his reaction. Joe says that Sydal will find out what happens when ambition goes further than common sense.


ROH World Television Title: Samoa Joe defeated Matt Sydal to retain

Sydal hit the Meteora in the ring, but Joe gets up at a 2.9-count. Sydal with a huge knee to Joe’s face, but Joe cut him off on his way to the top rope. Joe puts Sydal in a Muscle Buster for the win.


Nick Comoroto defeated Deimos (w/Teal Piper)

Deimos hit a big spinebuster and followed that up immediately with a big boot for a 2-count. Comoroto rolled to the apron and grabbed Deimos to get him to ringsdie. Comoroto is in full control now and back in the ring, he hit the Alabama Slam and goes for the pin with his feet on the ropes for the win.


Backstage, Dasha was with the Varsity Athletes. Mark Sterling says that he has secured time for Tony Neese to get something off his chest.


Iron Savages (Boulder & Bronson) (w/Jacked Jameson) defeated Rhett Titus & Tracy Williams

Titus with a huge boot on  Bronson. Boulder hits Williams attempting to go for a Piledriver. Bronson with a Rikishi Driver to Titus on top of Williams. The Iron Savages with their tag team senton to secure the W


Dasha is with Workhorsemen. They are mad that FTR got in their business a few weeks ago. Since FTR isn’t there, they will take out their friend, Mark Briscoe.


Diamante defeated Teal Piper (w/Deimos)

Diamante caught Piper and hit a Cross Rhodes. Diamante immediately locks in a Straitjacket submission for the win.


In the ring, Tony Neese says that The Varisty Athletes aren’t connecting with the fans since they have nothing in common with them. Neese says that they aren’t fat pigs like them and leads them to do some stretches before his match.

Tony Nese (w/Ari Daivari & Smart Mark Sterling) defeated Serpentico

Nese hooked Serpentico’s tights and hit a German suplex into the corner. Nese hit the Running Knees for the win.


Dasha was set to interview Kiera Hogan but Athena comes out and pretends to be Hogan. Kiera Hogan eventually comes out and knocks out Athena.


Miranda Alize defeated Notorious Mimi

Alize caught a Mimi forearm and hit a cutter, then followed it up with the Drive-By knee for the win.


Stu Grayson & The Righteous (Dutch & Vincent) defeated Dalton Castle & The Boys (Brandon & Brent)

Some hesitation from Grayson to be full heel with The Righteous. Outside of the ring, Dutch throws Castle into the stairs. The Righteous took Brandon out with a triple-team slam. fir the win.


The Dark Order is with Dasha. They are tired of having people bail on them. They wonder if The Righteous really care about Stu Grayson.


ROH Women’s World Title Proving Ground Match: Athena defeated Trish Adora

Adora just needs to last 10 minutes in the ring to get her title shot. This did not happen as Athena hit a superkick before going to the top and hitting the O-Face for the win.

After the match, Athena takes out Adora and Kiera Hogan comes out with a trash lid. The two women brawl. Hogan set up a table for Athena but Athena speared Hogan through the table first.


Mark Briscoe defeated Anthony Henry (w/JD Drake)

Briscoe attempts a Jay Driller, but Henry transitioned it into a neck crank and a Dragon Sleeper. Briscoe gets the all important rope break and even moved out of the way from a double stomp. Back and forth punches and Briscoe hits a lariat, followed by a Jay Driller for the win.


The ROH board of directors are talking. They promote the upcoming Pure Rules Match. Stokely Hathaway eventually books Athena vs. Kiera Hogan in a Chicago Street Fight next week


Pure Rules Match: Daniel Garcia defeated The DKC

Garcia hooked DKC’s hair and locked on the Walls of Jericho, but DKC reversed it into a roll-up. Garcia hits a lifting Codebreaker and goes for the pin but picked the DKC up before 3 and locked in the Dragon Tamer for win. He sat in Shibata’s pose after the match.


Dasha is with Mogul Embassy. They say they are dominant champions and that the Mogul Embassy lives forever.


Skye Blue defeated Viva Van

Van hit a grounded Meteora for a 2-count. Van then put Blue in an Electric Chair position, but Blue rolled through into a rana and hit the Skyfall for the win.


ROH World Six Man Tag Team Title Match: The Mogul Embassy (Bishop Kaun, Brian Cage & Toa Liona) (w/Prince Nana) defeated Action Andretti, AR Fox & Darius Martin to retain

Martin took down Liona with a facebuster, and everyone got their finishers in. Fox and Andretti with a 450 Splash and all of this wasn’t enough for the win as Cage breaks the pin up. All hell breaks loose as all 6 men are fighting. Andretti and Cage are in the middle of the ring. Cage overpowers Andretti and hits a Weapon X for the win to retain.
