The World is a Vampire tour in Mexico featured championship action as the National Wrestling Alliance showcases title matches with the best that AAA offered. Not only is La Rebelion in action, but Kamille and Tyrus will put The Burke and the Twelve Pounds of gold respectively on the line. This is action that was recorded earlier in March of this year, and we’ll get to see the conclusion of this event.
Kyle Davis is in the NWA Control Center and he provide more information on other entrants in the upcoming Crockett Cup pay-per-view, with more announcements later in the show. Other than what he announced last Saturday, New team like A Cut Above (Thom Latimer and Rhett Titus), the SVGs, Yabo and Ruffo the Clowns (okayyy), Fodder and Flip Gordon, and the War Gods (Odinson and Kratos).
More names will be coming up in the broadcast, but start with the First Match, and it is for the…
NWA World Tag Team Championship: La Rebelión (Mecha Wolf and Bestia 666, with Damien 666) (c) vs. Blue Demon Jr. and Vampiro
This has a big fight feel as the fans chant for the technicos in Vampiro and Blue Demon. There is definitely no love for La Rebelion, probably because they have made their bones in the rival The Crash promotion based in Tijuana. I still have concerns about Vampiro wrestling, given his noted health issues with Alzheimer’s.
In any case, Rebelión attacks the legends right away, and if you saw for Part I of The World is a Vampire tour, traditional tag rules are not as strictly enforced in AAA. That said, Demon gets dumped to the outside, and Mecha follows after him. Now all four men brawl out of the ring then La Rebelion single out Vampiro with an assisted powerbomb and then double knees to the side of his head. Demon tries to get involved and help his tag partner but Bestia and Mecha stomp that out. Demon is able to fend off the NWA tag champs, but Damian trips up La Leyenda Azul and that allows Rebelión to stand tall amidst “Culero” chants. Mecha tries to undo Demon’s mask but can’t get it undone. Then he and Bestia whip him into the ropes, and Demon knocks Damian off the apron. Now Vampiro enters the fray and grabs the Kendo stick from Damian and clocks him with it. La Rebelion double-team Vampiro and whip him into the ropes but he breaks the clothesline and nails a lariat to Mecha, followed by a boot to Bestia and he covers for a count of two.
That leads to a chop fest by Mecha and Vampiro but the Wolf wins with a flying knee to the side of his head. Now Demon is back in and he gives a facebuster to Mecha but Bestia breaks up the count. La Leyenda Azul comes back with a huracanrana and then follows with a tope suicida to the outside. Now it’s Mecha and Vampiro in the ring, and he nails an Implant DDT to the fan favorite. He goes up top for a moonsault but belly flops as Vampiro moves out of the way and he fires back with a clothesline. Both men are down but Vampiro wills himself back up, and climbs the top turnbuckle. As he flashes the AAA flag to the crowd, Vampiro goes high risk with a corkscrew senton that misses. Mecha goes on the attack, but Vampiro catches him in a goozle. He attempts a chokeslam, but Damian gets the mist in his eyes, and Mecha delivers the DDT for the win.
Your Winners via Pinfall, and Still NWA Tag Team Champions: La Rebelion
Davis talks more Crockett Cup with more teams joining on the two-night event. The Fixers will also be featured in the competition, as are newer teams like Sent 2 Slaughter (Shawn Donovan and Dan Maff) and “Magic Jake Dumas and Brian Brock.
There will be more announcements, but let’s go back to Mexico for your next matchup for the…
NWA World Women’s Championship: Kamille (c) vs. Lady Flammer
Again, if you missed the coverage of the Lucha Libre World Cup, Lady Flammer was featured for the Mexico women’s team. She is the daughter of lucha legend Red Flammer. She, too, made her bones with The Crash promotion as well as the independent circuit of Mexico.
As the bell rings, it’s a feeling-out process between the masked luchadora and The Brickhouse. She is very powerful, but Kamille busts out some lucha maneuvers with a handstand and then uses her legs to give Flammer a huracanrana, and she follows with a La Magistral variation that gives her a two count. Kamille stays on offense with a boot to Flammer and then attempts a baseball slide that misses. Flammer is on the apron and gives The Brickhouse a punt kick and brawls outside before sending Kamiller back to the squared circle to cover for a two count. Now Flammer displays her lucha skills with a springboard arm drag followed by a spinning huracanrana. She tops it with a tope suicida that almost gets cut short but hits the intended target in The Brickhouse. Kamille tries to fend her off and Flammer nails with a springboard codebreaker to cover, but she kicks out at two. Now the One Time champ fires back with a double throat chop, but she gets caught in the corner. Flammer tries her up in the Tree of Woe and lands a running dropkick to the basement to cover for another two count. She attempts powerbomb but Kamille backdrops her. The champ whips her into the corner and follows with the Oklahoma Stampede but that gets another two count. Flammer fires back with the Meet De-feet, but it’s only good for another two count. Kamille picks her up in a torture rack and then transitions to a blue thunder bomb to Flammer but still gets another two count. Flammer digs deep and sets The Brickhouse up the top turnbuckle to hit an avalanche huracanrana but still can’t put away the champ. She nails a flowsion but Kamille gets out at the two count. Kamille returns with a spinning neckbreaker and the flash spear ends it once and for all for Lady Flammer.
Your Winner via Pinfall, and Still NWA Women’s Champion: Kamille
Davis Thanks AAA for hosting the NWA during The World is a Vampire Festival. He brings up the other tag team competitors, like Blunt Force Trauma and Magnum Muscle (Big Strong Mims and Dak Draper), plus Judais and Max The Impaler. But The Miserably Faithful (Sal the Pal and Gaagz the Gymp) will also be in competition, plus The Spectaculars, and a new tag team of Jeremiah Plunkett and Eric Jackson will be featured in The Crockett Cup. It is officially a stacked tournament, and we at Slam will have more in the upcoming weeks ahead. For now, let’s go back to the Main Event for the…
NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship: Tyrus(c) vs. Daga
It’s been a long time since fans in the United States have seen the Lucha Underground and IMPACT wrestling star, as he wants to go for the Twelve Pounds of Gold. Given Tyrus’ size and connection with the Mexican crowd(!), the fans at ringside seem to be on the side of the Great American Smash.
Once the bell rings, Daga ducks out as he attempts to play mind games with the Man-ster. Tyrus goes after him but Daga is too quick and rolls back in the ring. Tyrus climbs in after him and then attacks the big man, but Tyrus stands to his full height, and he ain’t amused. He shoves at the champ, but the champ shoves harder. Tyrus proceeds to slam Daga to the mat, and then props his legs to make a wish, but instead gives a diving head butt to his solar plexus (according to Galli) followed by a real nasty atomic drop to the lucha star. Tyrus continues on offense with jabs and then gives a Dusty Rhodes-inspired bionic elbow. Daga comes back and dropkicks Tyrus on the knees, and he keeps the big man grounded. He nails another dropkick to cover, but Daga gets a one count. Daga gets a dragon screw leg whip to Tyrus and focuses on damaging the big man’s knee. Daga uses the ropes to springboard stomp again but then pulls up hurt. Upon further review, it looks as though Daga rolled an ankle as well as hyperextended his knee and he pulls up lame. Tyrus wastes no time and delivers a big elbow drop for one, two, and three.
Your Winner via Pinfall, and Still NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Tyrus
As the show ends, you know this is just a taste of what the NWA and AAA can offer.
NWA The World Is A Vampire
Final Thoughts:
It’s a shame the main event was cut short, but the overall second part of The World Is A Vampire festival sows the seeds for more events like this in the future.
Until then, see ya next Saturday!
