Plea deal in Deville stalking case

A man accused of stalking WWE superstar Sonya Deville has reached a plea deal with prosecutors.

Phillip A. Thomas II has been sentenced to 15 years in prison and 15 years of probation after pleading guilty to attempted kidnapping, aggravated stalking and armed burglary.

According to police, Thomas II had been planning for eight months to kidnap Deville. He broke into her patio and waited for hours for her to go to bed last night. When she did, he entered the home and set off the alarm. Deville saw the suspect, fled the home with a guest and called police. The police found mace, a knife, zip ties and duct tape in possession of the accused.

“Look outside, baby, by your pool. I’m here. I’m gonna kill that little bitch you have inside with you,” is what Thomas II wrote to Deville that night according to her court petition for stalking protection. That guest turned out to be fellow superstar Mandy Rose. The petition was later granted by the court.

When Deville’s petition was presented in court the prosecution in the case had this to add:

“The defendant admitted that his intention was to take Mrs. Berenato hostage by spraying her (with) pepper spray, binding her hands with the zip ties, and wrapping duct tape around her arms to prevent from fighting back,” the motion stated. “He stated that he intended to keep Mrs. Bernato hostage, preventing her from attending a planned event schedule for the following week and that he was not going to leave her residence without her answering all of his questions.”

Thomas II’s Twitter account contained almost nothing but retweets of Deville or posts about Deville.
