Stephanie McMahon is stepping away from her duties at WWE.
The chief brand officer made the announcement in a tweet today.
As of tomorrow, I am taking a leave of absence from the majority of my responsibilities at WWE. WWE is a lifelong legacy for me and I look forward to returning to the company that I love after taking this time to focus on my family.

There is no other news on the specifics of why McMahon won’t be involved with WWE for some time although some say McMahon was unusually quiet during the last annual shareholder’s meeting.
In 2007 McMahon joined the creative department at WWE and then moved on to become the chief brand officer in 2013.
For her work in an executive capacity McMahon has won numerous awards including and honorary Doctorate of Business Administration from Robert Morris University, was inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame last year and awarded Forbes’ Most Influential Female CMO award.
McMahon’s husband, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque had a health scare last year and was hospitalized for viral pneumonia and a weak, failing heart. He now has a defibrillator in his chest and because of that recently retired from future in-ring action.
McMahon and HHH have three daughters.
