SummerSlam moving to ThunderDome?

With COVID-19 cases rising in Nevada word is there are fears within the WWE that SummerSlam may have to move back to the ThunderDome.

The hospitalization rate in the state has surpassed last summer’s numbers. The surge is being blamed on the highly contagious delta variant and Nevada’s languishing vaccination rate. The positivity rate is now at 15% and the number of cases has increased by 23%.

A week ago Nevada reinstated its indoor mask policy throughout the state and now it seems those attending SummerSlam must wear masks. What isn’t clear is whether the talent has to as well.

Allegiant Stadium, SummerSlam’s venue, has released this statement: “Allegiant Stadium takes the health and safety of its guests, employees, and staff very seriously. In response to rising COVID-19 cases, and in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and State of Nevada Emergency Directive 047, all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a face mask while inside the stadium. The State of Nevada & CDC do not currently require proof of vaccination to attend events. Allegiant Stadium’s COVID-19 protocols are subject to change as additional information is discovered or provided by the State of Nevada & the CDC.”

The actual ThunderDome set was disassembled on July 10th.

Just recently Madison Square Garden announced that if you are 16 or older and haven’t been fully vaccinated, you cannot attend the WWE show there in September.
