On Thursdays, a grand jury in San Antonio, Texas, indicted Alberto del Rio, a former WWE and Impact World champion, on charges of aggravated kidnapping. Depending on the final charges, he could face decades in prison.
Back in May 2020, the 43-year-old Jose Alberto Rodriguez Chucuan was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault.
The victim, who had been in a relationship with Chucuan, claimed that he had become angry at her, destroyed her phone and other property, hit her, tied her up and sexually assaulted her over an extended period of time.
TMZ added details, noting that the victim was detained for roughly 16 hours by Chucuan. After being released, she went to the police, where the bruises on her face, arms, legs and neck were noted.
Chucuan was released on a $50,000 bond, and a trial date will be set.
Depending on whether the charges for both aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault are followed through, there is a chance that, if convicted, he could be sentenced to anywhere from two to 20 years.
Besides Alberto del Rio, he also wrestled as Alberto El Patron and as Dos Caras.
