Going into Monday, WWE had only announced a double contract signing for RAW; that’s it. No matches, just a couple of contract signings. The rest of the show is going to a surprise; given the WWE track record, that isn’t necessarily a good thing. Good news, though, later in the day two matches were announced. Apollo Crews is going to face MVP in a non-title match and the Viking Raiders will take on Andrade and Angel Garza. Championship Monday really spoiled us last week.

The show starts off with a huge surprise. Sasha Banks and Bayley are beating Asuka down in the ring, as Samoa Joe tries to gain control of the situation. WWE officials break up the fight for a hot second as Joe tries to get the contract signing underway. Dolph Ziggler doesn’t want to wait for his introduction, interrupting Joe. Ziggler won’t even let Joe do his job; introducing WWE Champion Drew McIntyre for him.

All the participants are at the table, that doesn’t look long for this world. Ziggler claims to Drew that he created him and he will end him. He signs the contract, as does the champ.  Drew does Dolph a favor, since he is family, by offering him the chance to pick the match stipulation.

Asuka interrupts Dolph, yelling and screaming. The champ signs the contract. Banks tells her that she and Bayley are taking over the company and stamps the contract. Asuka doesn’t take to that, attacking Banks and Bayley. Dolph uses the commotion to land a blind side super kick, but Drew catches him and Ziggler retreats out of the ring.

Backstage, Angel Garza tries to sweet talk referee Jessica Karr, who is officiating his match tonight. She blows him off as Zelina Vega and Andrade join him. Charly Caruso steps in, wanting to know what Garza was doing with Karr. He doesn’t get a chance, as Vega starts mocking her. Andrade tells her they are entitled to a title match.

Big Show interrupts, telling Zelina that he is pulling rank and bumping them off the next segment. Show has issue with Randy Orton and wants to take care of it now.

Show calls out Randy Orton in the ring. The Legend wants the Legend killer; instead he gets Andrade, Garza and Vega. They surround the ring, as Garza and Andrade jump to the apron. Ric Flair makes his way out on stage, telling Vega how much he respects her, but he needs a word with Show. He issues a warning to Show that Orton will take him out whenever he wants to.

Andrade and Garza look to strike, when the Viking Raiders make the save.


The Viking Raiders vs. Andrade and Angel Garza w/Zelina Vega


Vega joins the commentary team, instead of staying at ringside. Erik slams his partner onto Garza, but its not enough to get the pin. Garza’s pants tear away, distracting Erik and allowing Andrade to connect with a super kick. Andrade starts to yell at Garza for a lack of a tag, threatening to walk out. Vega jumps off commentary to intercept her client and convince him to stay.

The pep talk worked, as Andrade is still in the match as we return from break. He pummels Erik in the corner. An elbow to Garza and knee to Andrade allows Ivar to get the tag. He takes down Garza and then dodges Andrade with a cart wheel. Ivar busts up a clothesline, but gets kicked in the back attempting a back elbow. Erik and Andrade get the tag. Garza and Andrade are stacked up and slammed to the mat. Andrade avoids the Viking Experience. Garza is drop kicked out of the ring. Erik saves Ivar from the double knees, but then gets tossed to the floor. Garza smashes Erik into the ring post and rolls him back into the ring. Garza hits the Wing Clipper as Andrade runs interference on Ivar. Angel covers and gets the three count.

After the match, Andrade and Garza are still jawing at each other.

Ruby Riott is backstage getting harassed by the IIconics. Billie and Peyton call her a loser, like Liv Morgan. Ruby points out that they blew their tag team championship match last week. Ruby wants one of them in the ring, tonight.

Ric Flair congratulates Andrade and Garza on their win and wants to have a word in private with them.


Akira Tozawa (champion) w/ninjas vs. R Truth (challenger) – 24/7 Championship Match


Truth with a head lock and gets shot into the ropes. Truth with a leap frog. Akira catches himself on the ropes. Truth stops short again and grabs his knee. Akira approaches the gimpy Truth, only to get rolled up and pinned. Truth duped him.

Winner…and new 24/7 Champion…via pinfall: R Truth


After the match, Truth has to fight off the ninjas. He escapes to the back with title in hand.

Bobby Lashley calls Apollo’s rejection of MVP disrespect. MVP lets Lashley know that the offer is dead and now he is going to teach him some lessons. The walk by Seth Rollins and Murphy, holding Rey Mysterio’s mask. Seth has his most important message yet, and it has to be delivered now.

Rollins preaches in the ring; he knows that Rey Mysterio will return because it is his duty to protect his family. Rey’s real duty is to be a sacrifice. Seth has given him every chance to walk away. Rollins then asks for Rey’s forgiveness; not for past deeds, but what he is forcing Seth to do. Rollins is going to tear Rey apart little by little until there is nothing left.

Rey appears on the Titantron, asking for forgiveness from his son. He wants forgiveness for what he is going to do Seth. Dominick forgives his dad, but vows to never forgive Seth.

Rollins tells Dominick to be careful what he wishes for, as Seth will end his career before it begins.


Seth Rollins and Murphy vs. Aleister Black and Humberto Carrillo


Before the match, Seth pleads with Black and Carrillo, wanting to know why they fight for Mysterio. Black says he knows evil when he sees it that’s why he fights. Rollins says this ends now.

Murphy misses with a kick and Black strikes. He chases Rollins off the apron and kicks Murphy in the face. Rollins yanks Black off the turnbuckle and he falls to the floor. Rollins gets the tag, taking advantage of Black on the floor. Aleister hits the mat after crashing into the corner. Carrillo gets the hot tag, taking down Murphy with clothesline and beating him into the corner. He catches Murphy with a kick and then a cross body. He tosses Rollins out of the ring. Carrillo goes up top, connecting with a missile drop kick. Rollins saves Murphy from a 619. Humberto with a splash from the top to the floor and we go to commercial.

After the break, Rollins tags in, preventing Carrillo from tagging out. Murphy tags in, which allows Black to tag in. Aleister with a dual moonsault, taking out Rollins and Murphy. He follows with a knee strike to Murphy, sending him into the ropes. Carrillo with a 619, but Rollins breaks the pin. Murphy with a knee strike to Carrillo, but Humberto kicks out. The two fight atop the turnbuckle. Murphy blocks the sunset bomb and gets Humberto on his shoulders. Rollins tags in, delivering a knee strike from the top rope. Carrillo some how kicks out of the pin.

Black yanks Murphy off the apron. Carrillo rolls up Rollins, who kicks out. Seth hits the Black Out on Carrillo and  is able to get the pin.

After the match, Rollins wants to extract more pain. Carrillo fights back, only to get demolished with a shot from the stairs. Rollins puts Mysterio’s mask on Carrillo, dragging him to the steps. He wants to gauge his eye out. Black saves Humberto’s eye, but can’t prevent him getting stomped onto the steps.

Sarah Schreiber is with both the RAW men’s and women’s champions, wanting to know why they are facing their challengers at Extreme Rules in a mixed tag match, tonight. Drew says they just want to have some fun. He allowed Dolph to pick the stipulation so Ziggler has no excuses.

Backstage, Ruby Riott is warming up when Lana approaches. Ruby wants nothing to do with her, but Lana still tries to sell her on Natalya leading the division.


Peyton Royce w/Billie Kay vs. Ruby Riott


Billie Kay immediately provides a distraction, allowing Peyton to hit Ruby from behind. Royce works Riott over in the corner, then chokes her on the ropes. She follows with a belly to back suplex, but it’s not enough to get the pin. Ruby connects with a kick to the gut and delivers a standing STO. Kay jumps to the apron, allowing Royce to roll up Riott. Ruby kicks out and gets a near fall with a crucifix. Peyton kicks and nails an enzuigiri. Royce follows with a spinning brain buster. She covers Ruby and gets the win.

Big Show tells Charly Caruso that he knows Randy Orton and Flair have a plan. As for Andrade and Garza, they are getting an angry giant, tonight.


The Big Show vs. Andrade and Angel Garza w/Zelina Vega – 2 on 1 Handicap Match


Andrade and Garza can’t decide who should start off. Andrade fakes out his partner, serving him up for Show. A chop sends Garza to the mat, who tries to retreat into the corner. Garza is finally able to tag Andrade, who isn’t thrilled to get in the match. Show yanks Andrade over the ropes before slamming him to the mat. Garza is able to chop Show down. Andrade tags himself in and the two argue. Garza walks up the ramp, telling Andrade this is his moment. Andrade walks into a choke slam. Big Show covers him, getting the pin.

Winner via pinfall: The Big Show


After the match, Big Show picks up Andrade, only to hit him with the KO punch.

R Truth is backstage, looking a bit shook. Cedric Alexander tells Truth he isn’t a ninja. Apollo Crews tells Ricochet to just go with it.


MVP w/Bobby Lashley vs. Apollo Crews – Non-Title Match


Before the match, MVP takes some time to talk about Apollo Crews. He feels disrespected by the United States Champion.

Apollo has heard enough; he is tired of MVP pushing himself on him. MVP wants to the ref to ring the bell.

Crews with a head scissors and follows up with a drop kick. Lashley pulls MVP out of the ring, so Crews takes to the air with a plancha. He takes out Lashley, but MVP is able to slam the champ into the barrier. We go to commercial.

After the break, MVP beats Crews in the corner. Apollo dodges a big boot and unloads with rights. Crews with a splash in the corner and follows with a spine buster. MVP crotches Crews on the top rope off the distraction from Lashley. He follows with a big boot in the corner. MVP bridges a suplex into a pin and gets the three count.

Winner via pinfall: MVP


After the match, Crews attacks MVP. Lashley runs in and makes the save, putting Apollo in the full nelson. Ricochet and Cedric Alexander run down and force Lashley to break the hold.


Ricochet w/Cedric Alexander vs. Bobby Lashley w/MVP


MVP tosses Ricochet across the ring and then spears him in the corner. Lashley with a delayed vertical suplex before tossing him out of the ring. MVP drops Ricochet onto the announce table. Lashley slams Ricochet into the security barrier before rolling him back into the ring. Lashley slams Ricochet to the mat, but can’t get the pin. On the floor, Ricochet gets tossed around like a rag doll. Bobby slams him into the ring post. Back in the ring, Lashley looks for the spear, but Ricochet collapses before he can hit it. Lashley fails to lock in the full nelson and is sent to the floor. Ricochet looks to fly off the apron, but Lashley catches him. Ricochet avoids the ring post, but Bobby slams into it. In the ring, Ricochet with a moonsault off the ropes, but can’t get the pin. MVP confronts Ricochet going up top. Alexander yanks MVP to the floor. Ricochet with a super kick, but Bobby blocks another kick. Lashley slams him to the mat and locks in the full nelson. Ricochet taps out.

Cedric Alexander tries to check on his friend, only for Lashley to put him in a full nelson.

Dolph Ziggler tells Sasha and Bayley that he wants to take the reigns, tonight. Banks points out, last time they saw him he was getting exposed by a hacker and lost Mandy Rose.


Drew McIntyre and Asuka vs. Dolph Ziggler and Sasha Banks w/Bayley – Mixed Tag Team Match


Bayley joins the announce table as Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler start off the match. Ziggler runs his mouth, so Drew shuts him up with a big chop. Dolph hits the famouser, but only gets a one count. Dolph is shoved into the corner and Banks tags herself in. Asuka has to tag in. Banks ducks a back fist and then avoids the hip attack. Asuka looks for the Asuka lock. Dolph tries to run interference, but McIntyre tosses him out of the ring. Asuka connects with a back elbow and Banks rolls to the floor as the match goes to commercial.

After the break, Ziggler is trying to lock in a sleeper hold. The champ tosses him off and crushes him in the corner. Ziggler counters the Alabama slam into a pin, but Drew kicks out. Ziggler follows with a DDT. Banks gets the tag. Asuka takes her down with a hip attack in the corner. She follows with a shining wizard, but Banks kicks out of the pin. Another hip attack sends Banks to the floor. Bayley distract Asuka, allowing Banks to hit the meteora.

Back in the ring, Banks with a suplex and then locks in a chin lock. Sasha hits the double knees, but can’t get the pin. Sasha locks in a bow and arrow. Asuka fights out and hits double knees on Banks. Asuka makes the hot tag to Drew. He takes down Ziggler with a clothesline. An overhead suplex sends Dolph flying across the ring. McIntyre with a strike from the top. Ziggler blocks the Future Shock DDT and Sasha tags herself in.

She gets in McIntyre’s face, as Drew casually knocks Ziggler off the apron. Banks doesn’t see Asuka behind her, getting kicked in the face. On the floor, Dolph drives McIntyre into the ring post. In the ring, Sasha is able to lock in the Banks Statement. Asuka breaks free and locks for the Asuka lock. Sasha is able to get a pin as Asuka tries to lock in the hold. Banks gets the three count and the win.

Monday Night RAW - June 29, 2020

WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida

The WWE gets some benefit of the doubt, tonight, as they were working with a very short roster. Many superstars pulled double duty tonight. That being said, nothing was must see. The mixed tag match could be worth a watch, but the show is very easy to skip.
