John Cena and Nikki Bella have called off their engagement, and apparently have broken up entirely, mere weeks before the two WWE superstars were supposed to be married.
The two got engaged at last year’s WrestleMania when Cena proposed after the two competed together in a mixed tag team match.
In a statement on Bella’s twitter page (@BellaTwins), she wrote “After much contemplation and 6 years of being together Nikki Bella and John Cena announced today their decision to separate as a couple. While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives.”
Cena, meantime, has been tweeting mostly about the opening of his new movie Blockers but did send out this one which may be related to the Bella situation: “Life is funny sometimes. One minute it’s kissing and hugging on you, the next it’s kicking ya square in the nugget bag. Moments make the journey and the powerful play goes on.”

This whole situation, of course, could simply be hype for the upcoming season of Total Bellas, which returns to the airwaves on May 20.
