Eric Young proves to be championship material at TNA Sacrifice

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young is the perennial underdog. Since capturing the title, Young has defied the odds. However, former champion Magnus has something to say about that. Tonight on TNA Sacrifice, the rematch for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship holds big stakes for both men. Is Young truly the top dog or will Magnus make the reign of Young look like a fluke? Plus, Bully Ray and Bobby Roode up their rivalry in a tables match! All that and more on tonight’s TNA Sacrifice!

We are LIVE from Orlando, Fla. Mike Tenay and Taz have the call for tonight.

Prior to the match, The Wolves have something to match. Eddie Edwards says TNA Tag Team Champions The BroMans manage to get disqualified each week, but tonight will be different. The Wolves hand Christy Hemme directions from TNA Director of Wrestling Operations MVP that declare this a no disqualification match.

No Disqualification Handicap Match One for the TNA World Tag Team Championships: The BroMans vs. The Wolves

The Wolves in control early, sending The BroMans in and out of the ring as they please. DJ Z sent out into his own partners via double hip toss. Suicide dive from The Wolves take out all three men as the action settles. Double team attack sends DJ Z out. Jessie Godderz receives the same to earn The Wolves their first nearfall.

Robbie E left alone with The Wolves and he tries a few roundhouse kicks. The Wolves don’t react and land chops and roundhouse kicks galore. Running kick from Davey Richards followed by a running knee for Eddie Edwards. Richards being held and DJ Z cracks Edwards with his laptop. Richards dropped outside on the barricade. Godderz with a nearfall.

Powerslam from Godderz is followed by a diving headbutt from Robbie E for a nearfall. Mounted punches land for Robbie E and he takes some athletic tape to choke Edwards. DJ Z in and landing some shots. Elbow drops Edwards. Flapjack on the top rope followed by a neckbreaker from DJ Z. Triple kick lands for the nearfall that is broken by Richards.

Robbie E working a rear chinlock on Edwards to keep him down. Edwards unable to get things going and Godderz using the same game to keep Edwards down. Dropkick puts Edwards down. Edwards now fights out and lands a backdrop suplex to break it up. Edwards looks for the tag, but Richards taken out by DJ Z. BroMans now triple teaming Edwards outside.

Back inside, double hurricanrana sends The BroMans away. Enzuigiri takes out DJ Z and Richards in. Kicks and strikes for everyone. Double missile dropkick sends DJ Z and Godderz reeling. DJ Z gets the laptop, but Richards ducks it and Godderz gets cracked. Double team from The Wolves and double stomps from the top connect.

Winners by pinfall and new TNA Tag Team Champions: The Wolves

The Wolves, Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards, are the new TNA tag team champions.

Jeremy Borash backstage by the mental institution truck with Samuel Shaw. Shaw is tired of being called a “creepy bastard” by Mr. Anderson and the fans and he dedicates the match tonight to his mother, Christy Shaw.

Committed Match Two: Mr. Anderson vs. Samuel Shaw

Samuel Shaw and Mr. Anderson running around ringside. Shaw sends Christy Hemme into Anderson and tries to attack. Anderson has the jump and sends him into the barricade and ring apron. Inside, corner work for Anderson followed by a backdrop. Shaw gets the upper hand outside on Anderson. Shoulder ram on the apron connect, but Shaw’s dive misses and sends him to the floor.

Samuel Shaw is “Committed” to his bout with Mr. Anderson. 

Anderson and Shaw brawling outside. Shaw sent into the apron and barricade. Anderson sent into the steps and Shaw locks in the Kata Gatame. Anderson put to sleep by the choke and Shaw begins to stalk Hemme. Shaw tells her that she is coming with him, but Hemme smacks him and gets away.

Anderson back inside and landing clotheslines. Swinging neckbreaker lands and Shaw sent reeling up the ramp. Barricade used to dribble the head of Shaw. Anderson looking for the Mic Check on the ramp. Shaw elbows out and Anderson gets him up for the rolling fireman’s carry slam.

Chair comes into play as the move off the stage. Anderson with chair shots to the midsection. Shaw sent into the guardrail and Anderson finally moves it backstage. Anderson chats with Jeremy Borash and mocks Shaw before dropping him on the cart. Shaw sent into the equipment trunks. Anderson looking in the padded wagon and Shaw from behind. Hemme walks up to Shaw and consoles him before kneeing him in the groin. Mic Check lands and Shaw sent into the wagon.

Winner: Mr. Anderson

Ethan Carter III and Rockstar Spud with Jeremy Borash. EC3 lists off Kurt Angle’s accomplishments and delivers some tongue-in-cheek congratulations before saying that Angle will never beat him. Rockstar Spud calls out Willow for kidnapping him and leaving him in the shack. Spud says he is here for his best friend to help him get a win.

Match Three: Rockstar Spud & Ethan Carter III vs. Kurt Angle & Willow

Ethan Carter III hanging out in between the ropes to avoid Kurt Angle. Rockstar Spud unwillingly tagged in. Angle calls for EC3 and threatens Spud. Spud tags out and moves to the apron. EC3 back in and he immediately rolls outside. Angle invites EC3 in by taking bottom position. EC3 charges and gets tripped up. Ankle Lock in and EC3 tags out.

Spud and EC3 outside. Willow up top with the umbrella and he takes out both Spud and EC3. Angle charges EC3 and runs into the steel steps. Double team inside for EC3 and Spud on Willow is short-lived as Willow hits the Whisper in the Wind. Spud being sent into the turnbuckle. Willow knocks him down for a nearfall.

Twist of Fate attempt is countered by a clothesline from EC3. Spud mounting Willow and landing strikes. EC3 in with a clothesline for a nearfall. Willow cornered and EC3 with a Stinger Splash that gets another nearfall. Half nelson in for EC3. Willow out with a jawbreaker and a kick to the chest. Twist of Fate is countered by EC3, who sends him into a kick from Spud. Angle returns in and lands a trio of German Suplexes. Ankle Lock in and Spud jumps on his back. Spud soon taken out by a belly-to-belly suplex. Ankle Lock in on Spud and EC3 makes the save with a chop block to the knee of Angle.

EC3 sent outside after Willow takes him out. Spud left in the ring alone. Twist of Fate from Willow is followed by an Angle Slam. Willow up top and he connects on the Swanton Bomb.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young backstage. Young has reached the dream and he knows that the target is now on his back. However, Young wants to walk out with the belt tonight because it feels too good to be champion.

Knux is in the car with his girlfriend, Rebel. Knux regretfully informs her that he will be returning to TNA with her, Crazy Steve, and Freak.

Best of Three Match Four for the TNA X Division Championship: Sanada (c) vs. Tigre Uno

Lockup stars the match and Tigre Uno with a side headlock. Uno ducking the attacks of Sanada. Sanada sweeps the leg and tries a pin, but Uno up and he gets a leg sweep of his own for a quick pin. Uno off the ropes and he runs into a hurricanrana that sends him out. Sanada to the apron as Uno slides under his attack. Uno looks to suplex Sanada inside, but Sanada rolling the cradle around the ring to a nearfall.

Clothesline and chop miss for Sanada. Uno with a tilt-a-whirl arm drag into a crucifix pin for a nearfall. Kick to the head gets Uno a pin attempt and he goes to work on the leg. Submission in for Uno and Sanada struggles out. Uno to the apron and he springboards into a dropkick from Sanada for a nearfall.

Dragon Suplex attempt is countered by Uno. Uno sends Sanada to the apron with a backdrop. Springboard dropkick lands and sends Sanada out. Corkscrew dive takes Sanada out. Inside, Uno with a split-legged moonsault that lands on the knees of Sanada after a kick. Chop from the top lands for Sanada. Sanada connects once again and goes for it once more. Uno rolls through and twists Sanada into a release German Suplex in the corner that nearly wins the match.

Uno picking up Sanada, but he is crotched as Sanada sweeps him. Sanada with a hurricanrana and the Tiger Suplex nearly wins it. Moonsault from Sanada misses and Uno with a victory roll off the Tiger Suplex attempt that nearly steals the win. Sabertooth Splash misses and Sanada up top with the moonsault.

Jeremy Borash with “Cowboy” James Storm. Storm claims to be a star maker. Storm claims to have made Gunner and his father a star. Storm can also break a star and he plans to make Gunner quit tonight.

“I Quit” Match Five: “Cowboy” James Storm vs. Gunner

The “I Quit” Match between “Cowboy” James Storm vs. Gunner was a bloody affair.

Both men start out swinging. “Cowboy” James Storm cornered and Gunner delivering some shots. Clothesline off a snapmare by Gunner. Punches landing for Gunner. Storm back with a forearm and Gunner sent outside.

Barricade piece set down on Gunner outside. Storm stomps it into the knee of Gunner and positions the steel steps in the middle of the ringside aisle. Storm and Gunner take turns trying to slam each other into the steps. Gunner gets it first and lands a flying clothesline off the steps.

Gunner brings a trashcan full of weaponry into the ring. Storm kicks the rope into the crotch of Gunner and lands a kick. Neckbreaker off the rope for Storm connects as Gunner is asked again if he wants to quit. Storm in control and taking the chair across the back of Gunner, who doesn’t want to quit. Storm using a baking sheet and continuing the assault of Gunner. Choke in the corner sees Gunner turn things around with a clothesline. Running knee to the head lands for Gunner and Storm doesn’t want to quit.

Trashcan lid cracking the head of Gunner. Both men exchanging with the trashcan lids. Gunner down, but he gets the trashcan itself to crack storm. Diving headbutt from the top by Gunner still doesn’t make Storm quit. Gunner sent into the steel post as Storm moves away. Dropkick by Storm, who moves to the steel steps outside. DDT on the steel steps has Gunner nearly knocked out, but he doesn’t quit.

Back inside, Storm brings in a beer bottle. The beer smashed across the head of Gunner. Gunner managed to squeak out that he won’t quit and Storm punching the sliced-up Gunner. Boston Crab in for Storm. Gunner able to move to the rope. The referee forces the break and he is shoved down by Storm. Storm takes the belt of referee Brian Hebner and whips Gunner. Storm repeatedly swinging it and Gunner still not quitting.

Last Call Superkick puts Gunner down on the mat. Gunner still going and Storm takes a shard of glass to land a low blow with. Storm bouncing the head of Gunner off the turnbuckle. Corner to corner and Gunner now headbutting the corner. Clotheslines into Hanger 18. Hanger 18 two more times on the shards of glass, but Storm refuses to quit. Chairs set up face to face and Storm set up top. Storm headbutts out, but Gunner comes back with a baking sheet. Steel guardrail now balanced off the chairs and superpkex drives Storm through it. Gunner with a shard of glass and he digs it into the forehead of Storm, prompting him to scream that he quits.

Winner: Gunner

Jeremy Borash is joined by The Beautiful People. Angelina Love came back to TNA as a gift, saying they only brought in TNA Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne out of pity. Love plans to win the TNA Knockouts Championship for a record sixth time tonight.

Angelina Love won the TNA Knockouts Championship with a little help from Velvet Sky. 

Match Six for the TNA Knockouts Championship: Madison Rayne (c) vs. Angelina Love (w/Velvet Sky)

Lockup sees Madison Rayne get the waistlock takedown. Side headlock and a shoulder bump for Rayne. Angelina Love now tossed around by the arm drags and she moves outside to regroup with Velvet Sky. Side headlock in for Love and she gets a shoulder bump. Rayne sweeps the legs for shoulder bumps of her own. Love moves outside again after Rayne tries to legscissors the head of Love into the mat. Velvet Sky distracts Rayne and lets Love sweep Rayne down on the apron for a nearfall.

Punches land for Love. Rayne choked on the second rope and Sky choking Rayne further as the referee is distracted by Love. Corner work on Rayne wearing Rayne down. Back elbow from Rayne and a sunset flip out of the corner nearly retains the belt.

Clothesline from Love ends the momentum of Rayne. Rayne pinned between the ropes and hit with a dropkick. Referee again distracted by Love as Sky stomps her down. Nearfall back inside leads to a legscissors across the arm of Rayne. Rayne stacks her for a nearfall and connects on clotheslines. Enzuigiri lands and legscissors. Love has her head slammed into the mat and Rayne with a crossbody on both of The Beautiful People outside.

Inside, Rayne Drop connects. Spear in the corner is moved away from by Love and Rayne connects on her shoulder. Botox Injection connects for Love. Crossbody from the top misses for Love. Sky on the apron and showing off her backside to the referee. Rayne gets the referee and Sky blinds Rayne with a can of hairspray. Rollup from Love with a handful of tights.

Jeremy Borash with Bully Ray backstage. Bully doesn’t want to talk. Bully wants to fight Bobby Roode. Bully praises Roode as a wrestler, but the match tonight is a fight in Bully’s forte. Bully is ready to put Roode through a table.

Tables Match Seven: Bully Ray vs. Bobby Roode

Bobby Roode starts by flipping the bird and Bully Ray working Roode in the corner. Side slam from Bully is followed by punches and the bionic elbow. Table set up outside by Bully and he is attacked by Roode as he returns inside.

Roode brings it back outside and stomps Bully down. Punches land against the barricade by Roode. Bully turns it around and sends Roode against the steel post. Another table set up by Bully and Roode comes with a clothesline. Table inside and Bully and Roode try to bounce one another’s head off the tables.

Back inside, Roode stomping Bully down in the corner. Table set up in the corner and Roode countered by Bully. Roode slips out and drops Bully with a dropkick. Corner clothesline connects for Roode. Bully answers with a clothesline of his own. Whip attempt is held onto by Roode and a kick to the midsection leads to a spinning neckbreaker from Roode.

Dixie Carter changed her look to get revenge on Bully Ray.

Table now wedged in the corner. Both men trading suplex attempts. Roode with knees and he goes for the suplex one more time. Bully blocks and lands a suplex in the direction opposite of the table. Bully walks into a boot from Roode. Up top, somersault neckbreaker connects for Roode. Roode looking to get Bully through the table, but Bully counters with a backdrop.

Roode out on the apron, but Bully walks into a hangman’s neckbreaker. Roode on the offensive, but Bully snatches a uranage. Roode turns out to prevent going through the table. Chops landing for Bully. Powerbomb is escaped by Roode. Bully goes for it a second time, but Roode again gets out. Bully puts him up for a third time and the referee is clipped by the foot of Roode on the way up. Roode put through the table, but the referee is out.

Table set inside by Bully and Roode again going up, but Roode counters with a spinebuster. Roode looking for a Roode Bomb. Roode cornered by Bully, but he gets the elbow up. Roode coming down into a cutter from Bully. Roode falls to the floor. Bully with a right hand outside and Roode laid across two tables. Bully up top, but a person dressed in all black and a beard shoves Bully off the top and through the tables.

Winner: Bobby Roode

Post-match, TNA President Dixie Carter strips off the beard and hat to reveal that she has gotten her revenge.

Jeremy Borash with Magnus backstage. Magnus stands alone tonight and he calls TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young a joke. Magnus plans to show Young who he is tonight and take back what’s his tonight.

Match Eight for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship: Eric Young (c) vs. Magnus

Feeling out process starts us off. Lockup sees Magnus back Eric Young into the corner. Young continuing the lockups and sweeps the leg of Magnus. Young walks across the back of Magnus and taunts him before getting the side headlock takeover. Magnus with a hip toss that is again met by an EY side headlock takeover. EY continuing the hold. Side headlock from Magnus now and a shoulder bump. EY again with the side headlock takeover. Magnus out with a side slam for a nearfall.

Surfboard stretch for Magnus. Young flips through, but Magnus gets the back for a waistlock takedown. Young sends him outside and gets a crossbody over the top rope. On the apron, Young gets caught and powerslammed on the floor for a nearfall. Northern Lights Suplex for Young gets a bridging nearfall, but that is matched by a nearfall from a Magnus catchup clothesline.

Magnus wanted to regain the TNA World title. 

Rear chinlock in for Magnus. Young gets out, but Magnus comes with a knee to the midsection. Stomps and punches now from Magnus. Young put down and Magnus applies the Camel Clutch. Young fights out, but Magnus reapplies it. Young out with a borderline low blow and both men connect on crossbodies. Both up and both down again with dual clotheslines as the referee begins the count.

Both men up again. Shots being exchanged and Young with forearms and clotheslines. Young flips over in the corner and lands a shoulder ram. Piledriver is shucked off by Magnus, but a belly-to-belly throw lands. Moonsault attempt misses for Young and Magnus with a uranage. Elbow drop from the top nearly wins it for Magnus.

Magnus goes for a move, but Young wheelbarrows him into a neckbreaker. Young heads up top for an elbow drop of his own and that nearly wins the match for him. Piledriver attempt from Young is caught by Magnus, who applies the Cloverleaf. Young struggling his way to the ropes and he gets the rope break.

Magnus looks for offense, but Young locks in a Cloverleaf variation of his own. Magnus needs the rope break and gets it. Young up top, but Magnus meets him with a punch. Press slam into a driver from Magnus nearly wins him the title.

Moving outside, Magnus brings in a crowbar. The referee takes it from him and Magnus looks for a kick to the groin. Piledriver lands for EY and nearly retains. Young with a catapult that sends Magnus into the corner. Piledriver connects again. Young going up top and he lands the elbow drop.

Winner by pinfall and still TNA World Heavyweight Champion: Eric Young.
