In a YouTube video that he shared with the world through his Twitter feed, Ted DiBiase Jr. said that he has decided to part ways with the WWE.
“I have decided not to resign with WWE and renew my contract,” he said in the three-minute video. “It’s kind of bittersweet. It’s just something, it’s personal. This is what’s best for me and my family right now.”
Wearing a baseball hat, with a lake visible behind him, DiBiase talked about the highs of working for the massive wrestling company.
“I have had just amazing life experiences with WWE, I’ve done some amazing things, travelled the world, wrestled at WrestleMania, filmed a movie. I’ve really lived a dream,” he said.
DiBiase confirmed that he hasn’t ruled out a return down the road.
“I’m not saying this is forever, but right now, at this time of my life, there’s other dreams, passions, that I would like to pursue. One of those is being a Dad. Everyone knows that the life we live is very hard. It’s just something that I need to do right now.
“I’m going to miss everyone. I’m going to miss the guys in the locker room, and I’m going to miss you fans, the WWE Universe. It feels like we’re all one family, family away from family.”
“Thank you @WWE and thank you #WWEUniverse! And of course the #DiBiasePosse – Love you guys!!” he posted on his Twitter account, @TedDiBiase
DiBiase Jr. is a third-generation professional wrestler, following the footsteps of his father, “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, who was raised by wrestlers “Iron” Mike DiBiase and Helen Hild. Both his twin brother, Brett, and his half-brother, Mike, have wrestled as well. He has been with WWE since July 2007.
