Timbaland mixes with WWE Divas and superstars

MIAMI BEACH, FL — The stars were aligned on Thursday night for a huge Hollywood-like event on the glamourous Star Island in trendy Miami Beach, with the WWE divas and superstars overshadowed a tad by the presence of rapper Timbaland.

The occasion was a combination art show / fashion show / silent auction, where proceeds benefited Alex’s Place, a 3,200-square-foot pediatric hematology-oncology clinic set to open later this spring at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center/UMHC in Miami.

With countless WWE stars in attendance, and some names from the past as well — check out my gallery to see who was there — it was Grammy Award-winning artist Timbaland that caught the most attention.

Timbaland MC’d the party for a time, and had many wrestlers acting somewhat markish, getting their photos done alongside him.

Miami socialites came out in droves, and the stars of The Real Housewives of Miami caused quite the buzz.

Given the lack of hardcore fans at the event — though they are everywhere in Miami — the wrestlers were still very popular with the high-end crowd, and happily posed for photos.

After a brief fashion show by celebrity designer Charlie Lapson with the likes of Alicia Fox, the Bellas and Eve Torres strutting their stuff, the charity auction took place, with outfits from the Divas and Miami Dolphins cheerleaders available for bidding.

Unlike previous years, the art of WWE personalities was not the focus of the event, but it was Miami artists such as Miguel Paredes and Art Rotondo on prominent display.
