Before any Oscar envelopes are opened, Hollywood must first roll out the red carpet for the stars of the squared circle, as WrestleReunion returns to Los Angeles on January 27. And one of the biggest stars on hand will be former two-time WWE Champion “Psycho” Sid Vicious.

“At events like this, you get to see guys that you haven’t seen in a really long time, so I’m looking forward to it,” Sid said. “I’m also looking forward to getting to know some of the fans in the area as well.”

It’s actually quite appropriate that Los Angeles is hosting the event, as Sid may one day be up for an Oscar nomination himself.

“I’ve been doing some film work lately,” he said. “I’m working on a documentary right now about the indy wrestling scene and I just did a commercial, so I’ve been keeping myself busy.”

As busy as he is, Sid always makes time for the fans, who have supported him throughout his wrestling career.

“I have some fans that have actually become good friends. I get called about once a month by people, just asking me how I’m doing,” Sid said. “So it’s always good to catch up with them.”

The sixth annual WrestleReunion event will consist of several interactive activities, including a question and answer session with some of the talent, photo opportunities and autograph sessions. And of course, it just wouldn’t be a wrestling event without in-ring competition. One of the more anticipated matches on the card is between Harry Smith and ROH World Champion “The American Wolf” Davey Richards; two guys who are well versed in both professional wrestling and mixed martial arts, which makes for an interesting dynamic.

Sid says he’s a fan of MMA as well, but will always have a soft spot for wrestling. Although he will not be participating in a match, Sid is looking forward to some of the other festivities at the event.

“I haven’t really been paying attention to who’s on the card, but I’ll be there for the photos and autographs, so I’m going to enjoy it,” Sid said.

WrestleReunion runs from January 27-29 at the Westin LAX Hotel in Los Angeles.
