Lockdown is upon us this Sunday and expectations run high at TNA for a PPV that can make up for what some call lacklustre performances in the last couple outings. There seems to be a lot of pressure on “The Dream” Dusty Rhodes right now and many are expecting a booking change in the near future.

I wish I could give some insight as to what was happening in the office, but

a) being out of the loop for the last few weeks has kept me gossip free.
and
b) I never really had any idea what was going on anyway! Heh. I was a believer in shut up and do my job.

I will however say that, from what I have heard, if these expected changes do come, they will only come with a new TV deal. I know we all pray for a new TV deal on a new network. FSN is great and all, but its hard to get your product to the masses at 3 or 4 p.m. Friday.

As far as Lockdown matches go, if you need to see the lineup check out SLAM! Wrestling’s Countdown to Lockdown or www.tnawrestling.com.

I will look for Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper to steal what many are calling A.J. Styles and Abyss’s show. I have the utmost confidence in AJ and the “Monster” Abyss, but I think that Daniels is partially insane and Elix fully insane so the two together could create havoc. I’m giddy with anticipation.

I’m kind of glad I won’t be in Orlando for this one, as the night of the epic AMW vs Triple X cage match I was watching from the wings, not on the monitors, with Frankie Kazarian and others and we all almost had coronaries when Elix walked the cage. I don’t think I could handle watching another friend almost kill himself live. Unless of course I was wrestling him, then sure.

I have read on the Internet that “Big Sexy” Kevin Nash will not be able to compete this weekend due to medical problems. I feel for him and know he’s a guy who doesn’t like to miss the big shows, so whatever it is must be serious enough to keep him in a lesser role.

I want to wish Kid Kash best of luck in what ever he does now. Love him or hate him Kash was one hell of a performer and we got along really well. I hope he gets what he wants in the end and I am sure we will see more of Kash in the future. Maybe now that Kash is gone they should put Big Lance Hoyt in Team Canada to team with “Showtime” Eric Young. Why you ask? Because these two guys are the best dancers on the TNA roster bar none, and would kill in a Sk8r/breakdancing gimmick. But as we all know that would NEVER happen. God, it’d be funny though!

I was really happy to see Joey Matthews, erm I mean Joey Mercury, get the call up to Smackdown! recently. Joey is a great performer and been at this a long time. He’s one of those guys who have deserved a shot for a while and just needed the right way in. I think the MNM gimmick is great and will go far. Love the furry coats! And Melina’s not bad either!!

I was sad to hear about the releases of Matt Hardy, Molly Holly and Rhyno. I can understand a reprimand or whatever for Rhyno, but a release!? Wow, he must have really ruffled someone’s feathers. As far as Matt goes I’m not touching that one with a 10-foot pole. I can only say I would look forward to the Team Canada vs the Hardy Boys matches. And Molly asking for her release shows the terrible state the WWE women’s division is in. When arguably their best “worker” asks for her release it says a lot. I am sure she will do well where ever she ends up as she is very talented and beautiful. And I look forward to hanging with Rhyno while I am in Windsor/Detroit and helping him blow off some steam as he’s one of the nice guys.

While on the subject of nice guys I want to give a shout out to my buddies, Apocalypse and Randy Myers from Stampede Wrestling, who are currently over in England working for Brian Dixon’s All Star Wrestling. Have fun guys. I loved England and hope to go back one day. And I know that between you, T.J. Wilson, Harry Smith and all the great English talent, that the English fans are in for some great shows.

I think I am going to finish off this week with a wish list of guys I would like to wrestle when I get healed up. And I mean wrestle, not a 4-6 minute TV match but a 15+ minute house show match.

  • 5: Petey Williams: Love my teammate to death and think he’s fantastic! Wait, change this to anyone from Team Canada — they’re all great!
  • 4: Trytan: I know a lot of people kinda bagged on him when he debuted but I know he’s a better worker than that and would like to show people.
  • 3: Elix Skipper: Skip and I always wanted to work each other because we both are nuts. Plain and simple.
  • 2: Alex Shelley: I have been spending a lot of time at the Can-Am training center in Windsor and love this guy’s work. We would really push each other.
  • 1: Christopher Daniels: Other than some tags and a gauntlet match we’ve never had the chance to work together. I think we could have a great pseudo religious feud. But that’s just me.

Once again fans that’s it. Hope you are all supporting your local indies and all that other good shill stuff. Take care all and Stay Hot.
