Bobby Duncum Jr found dead

The wrestling world suffered another loss today as it was revealed that former WCW star Bobby Duncum Jr. died early Monday morning of unknown causes. He was 34.

A local TV station in his hometown, just outside of Austin, TX reported that Duncum was found dead by his roommate.

Duncum was a second generation star. His father, Bobby Duncam Sr, was a major wrestling star in the 70s and early 80s, often challenging then-WWF World Champion Bob Backlund for the title.

North American wrestling fans would best remember Duncam from his stint in WCW as one half of the Texas Rednecks tag-team with Curt Henning. He was still under contract with WCW, recovering from a shoulder operation he had in the Fall.

Duncum had a wealth of international wrestling experience as a regular competitor for All Japan Pro Wrestling. While there, Duncum occasionaly teamed with wrestling legend Stan Hansen.

Duncum also wrestled for Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling promotion.
