The stakes are raised on this NWA Powerrr. Thom Latimer and Bryan Idol team up in tag action to face The Southern Six, “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason, and Kerry Morton. Whoever wins will get to name the stipulation for a title match for Mason’s Ten Pounds of Gold. But men have history with Big Daddy Thrill, and each wants their pound of flesh in the National Wrestling Alliance.
Which team will come out on top?
We will find out tonight on The Roku Channel as we come to you from the PowerrrStation in Tampa, Fl. Joe Galli, Tim Storm, and Danny Dealz have the call, and joining in the ring with Kyle Davis is The Southern Six. He asks Mason his thoughts, and the champ says Latimer and Idol have a death wish. He’s not concerned with a falls count or a no-DQ match, but wants to go old-school, like in the days of the NWA. If Idol can’t understand that, he should take up reading and go over the rule book.
Erstwhile, at Dr. Vik’s Abode, the good doctor is having a one-on-one session with Tiffany Nieves. He asks if she can feel the connection and the electricity between them. La Princesa slaps the taste out of his mouth, as she ain’t that type of girl. She walks off in a huff, saying in no uncertain terms, “Get it. Got it?”
Well, for Vik, it’s no Bueno.
Aron Stevens greets us with Mike Mondo. Blake “Bulletproof” Troop is coming back to challenge Mike Mondo. Mondo is not impressed, as this is his sandbox, and he’s going to learn that it’s his time, and it’s Gut Check Time.
Now for the First Match of the Night for the…
NWA Women’s World Tag Team Championship: The Hex (Alyson Kay and Marti Belle)(c)Sirena Veil and Vipress
The challengers attack from behind because they are hungry for the gold. Veil slams Belle to the steps, and they work over Kay in the corner, cutting the ring in half. Vipress tries to powerbomb Kay, but to no avail. She gives her a DVD to the turnbuckles and covers, but Kay kicks out. Vipress goes up top, but Kay cuts her off at the pass. She slips under and nails the champ with a sit-out powerbomb for a two count. Clothesline and Kay crawls to her corner. She gets the Hot tag to Belle, and she is En Fuego on Vipress and Veil. She gives a hip attack to Veil in the corner twice, but then Vipress strikes. Belle manages to turn the tables and punts her in the chest, and then she and Kay deliver Hex Marks the Spot, and Vipress is down and out.
Your Winners, and Still NWA Women’s Tag Team Champions: The Hex
Backstage, Dr. Vik addresses the camera, and he has made mistakes. He overstepped his bounds and sees he must step in the ring to make amends and prove to himself he’s more than a man.
Now for more title action, and it is for the…
NWA National Championship: Mike Mondo (with Aron Stevens)(c) vs. Blake “Bulletproof” Troop
This is the first time seeing Troop in an NWA ring after some time, as he’s been busy with not only Lights Out XF MMA, but also training with Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling school.
Mondo isn’t a pushover, but Troop is ready to drop warheads on people’s foreheads. A deep hip toss into a Fujiwara armbar, and Mondo gets to the ropes to break the submission and talk strategy with Stevens. This match favors Troop until Mondo trips him to the middle ropes and he clubs his back. Apparently, he’s starting to bleed from his back, but Galli points out he was in an MMA fight 48 hours earlier, so that may be residual from that bout. Either way, this Match shifts to Mondo with a whip to the corner and a flying kick, and he covers for a count of two. He grinds Troop down to the mat, then gets to a vertical base and gets back on offense. He takes out the pin, and Troop winds up for his grenade punch, but it is blocked. He attempts a kick, but Troop is hung up on the ropes. Mondo takes him for a ride and gets bucked back in the ring where it’s Gut Check Time, and that ends it right then and there.
Your Winner via Pinfall, and Still NWA National Champion: Mike Mondo
In the ring with Kyle Davis are Stevens’ Federation of Champions (and the Slimeballz), along with The Hardway, and Dr. Vik has his Devastation Reborn team. Vik states he is a multi-millionaire, a seven-time bestseller, a psychiatrist, and a lover, but he’s not a fighter. Drake says he read his book, but wishes, “it was in Braille, because then I’d feel something.” Okay, that was a good burn.
Drake adds that since he’s a doctor, he’ll need his skills after the match.
So, now we get…
Carson Drake and The Hardway (Jack Vaughn and Dalton McKenzie) vs. Dr. Vik and Devastation Reborn (Frank Stone and AJ Farat)
We learn from Galli that Reborn are the current NWA Texas Dogg Pound Tag Team champs. Vik has knee pads over his suit, and Farat and Stone help the good doctor tape up. Also of note is Gretta from TV MA out in the walkway to observe.
McKenzie and Stone start, but he wants the good doctor. Tag to Vik, who wants to shake his hands in a show of sportsmanship. Mckenzie obliges, and Vik tries to kick his midsection, which goes over like a lead balloon as he shrugs it off. Vik gets Stone back in, and now we have a tag match. A tackle to Stone and now Drake and The Hardway put this Devastation in Peril. He fights his way out of the corner and lights up Drake. He and Farat give a double atomic drop. Vik wants in again, and he offers his hand in sportsmanship. Drake isn’t falling for it, so Vik throat-chops him. The match breaks down in chaos, and Devastation was Reborn in the ring. They prep for their finisher, and Vik wants in again. Stone rolls his eyes and lets him do it, but Drake quickly gives him the Capital Gains Tax to make him submit.
Your Winner via Submission: Carson Drake and The Hardway
Meanwhile, at Ye Olde BitCrush, Miles counsels Tommy Henry. He thinks he is still getting the money from that inheritance, and Miles is trying to tell him that dog won’t hunt. The Paige sisters says that it’s possible, and even The Slimeballz has ideas for buying the store. O what deluded people we have.
Back in the Ring, Daisy Kill is here for a good time (GOOD TIME!) and calls Kerry Morton a cheat. But we will move forward with his Reign of Terror, so let’s see who will step up.
Why it’s…
Hunter vs. Daisy Kill
Kill slams the young upstart to the mat and then proceeds to clobber his back. A whip to the ropes, and he gives a massive sidewalk slam. Hunter has a few spots of hope, but Kill is firmly in the driver’s seat. He manages to send him over the ropes to crash to the concrete floor, and Hunter flies to the outside. He goes for another high-risk maneuver with a leap from the top and eats a superkick on the way down, and Kill pins him quickly.
Your Winner via Pinfall: Daisy Kill
Now, Lev is out wanting to answer the Reign of Terror challenge, and Kill is down for it.
Thus, it is…
Lev (with Gaagz the Gymp) vs. Daisy Kill
Lev catches him with an STO to cover for a near fall. He then settles for ground and pound action, and Lev hits The Rockstar with a modified brainbuster for another two count. He climbs up top to attempt a missile dropkick, and Kill does his best Samoa Joe impression. Gaagz tries to get in on the action, but Kill tosses him over the top, and the ref calls it. So I guess…
Your Winner via Disqualification: Daisy Kill
Hey, a win’s a win.
But we’re not done yet, as Eric Smalls comes out, and the Half Pint Punk isn’t backing down. Gaagz tried to get back in the ring, and while the ref was distracted, Smalls delivered a shot to Kill’s…errr, little Daisies, and he rolled him up for a pin and the win to end this Reign of Terror.
Not sure if it was official, but I got a feeling Kill won’t take this lying down for long. For now, he will, since he got a low blow, but…you know what I mean.
Tommy Henry still thinks he will inherit from the Bleer estate. Miles notices The Attorney handling the estate walk into The BitCrush. When Henry confronts him, he confirms that Joe Cazana hired him and that he was just doing his bidding. Even with that blatant omission (which has to violate the attorney-client privilege), Henry still believes he will receive the inheritance from the Bleer estate.
Also, allow me a…
(Author’s Rant: If this is a rib on Tommy Henry, I think the joke has long worn off. This whole thing about Henry getting duped by Cazana is one thing, but still believing the hoax is another. I hope he gets one over the Cazanas, but this seems to indicate that is not the direction.)
Now for the Main Event between…
The Southern Six (“Thrillbilly” Silas Mason and Kerry Morton) vs. Thom Latimer and Bryan Idol
The Six trash-talk, and the fans are solidly behind Idol in his hometown of Tampa. Latimer and Mason start, and the champ brags he beat him twice…but then quickly tags in Morton. Latimer toys with Mr. Roku, and the Rizz God can’t handle his scientific wrestling. Tag to Idol, and he and Latimer take turns beating down Morton. A whip to the ropes, and that allows a blind tag to Mason. He pulls him down by the hair and stomps a mudhole in The Looks That Kill. They cut the ring in half, and Idol is in Peril at the hands of The Southern Six. Mason gets him in a Boston Crab, but gets to the ropes to break the submission before any more damage can be done.
Idol fights for his life, and Mason gets sent out. A hot tag to Latimer, and the King of All Evil is En Fuego and lets out a lot of frustrations on Morton and Mason. He nails the Side of Suffering powerbomb on Mason, and Morton breaks the count. It’s a Pier Four brawl spilling out of the ring onto the floor. Back in the squared circle, Morton wants to Kiss it Goodbye with Idol, but misses and hits the running knee on Mason. Morton is beside himself, and then he eats a superkick followed by the Side of Suffering by Latimer, and that ends the match in one, two, and three.
Your Winner via Pinfall: Thom Latimer and Bryan Idol
Mason is disgusted by this, and Morton pleads his case to no avail. The stipulation will be that Bryan Idol will challenge Mason for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in a Fall Count Anywhere, No Disqualification match as the show comes to a close.
